Takes a lot of courage for these young people to leave their homes and come to Israel. I wish them lots of luck; we need all the good people here that we can get.
Torah rabah for posting this beautiful documentary about the return of the Remnant of 12 Tribes of Yisrael back home to Eretz Yisrael. The ending is truly very moving.
I find this very touching! I believe that any one who wishes to become a part of our religion is more than welcome. It just shows how powerful and influencial the religion is and how it can touch people of other ethnicities. Its pretty cool!! ^-^
I think this is a terrific video. I'm not Jewish but I really admire those in Israel who open their arms to those who want to be Jewish in their land of Israel.
As a Chinese, I say we respect Israel a lot, almost all Chinese do. Not because anything else, but because you Israelis are real tough!!! Not everyone can beat an alliance of 4 to 6 nations single handedly, not to mention all those nations are much bigger than you. You are such a tiny country, but your achievements in warfare, economy, wealth, science and culture parallel even some of the largest empires on earth. BTW, WTF is a CHINESE JEW?!?!?!?!?!?!
I read about Kafeng Jewish, but from what I read they had stopped recognizing themselves as Jewish a long time ago and became a part of Chinese people. Anyway, nobody is going to stop them if they want to go back, just like nobody stopped them when they came to China.
My last EX BF was American Born Chinese. Chinese People are easy to absorb into other cultures because they contribute alot to the people around them. Also many Jews leave Europe for Shanghai because there is no anti semitism in China. But I am proud that Chinese people are becoming Jews. Your people will strengthen us because Chinese people are a great people and greatness have no Ethnicity or Skin Color.
Escape from where? No religion is an escape. If you want to go somewhere else to study judaism try with Philippines, Japan or somwhere else... It's not necesary that you go to Israel.
Who are "we"? Jewish people? jewish people in Indonesia? Indonesian people? Is important if I am or I am not? No religion is an escape except if you are a thief, or a criminal, or a bad person and you want someone forgives you and you want to redime yourself doing good actions.
Congrats! But then you are jewish? or you want to become jewish? I still don't undestand why you want to escape from there... or from where to where you want to escape... Is it because the government of Indonesia politics?
I`m touched to tears....almost. Very impressed as to how Hashem has His strong hand on us all... No matter what other Jews say about the Chinese Jews or Black Jews or French Canadian Jews. We are ALL coming Home to greet Messiah Yeshua who is on His way back to Yerushalayim! This time, as a conquering King...of the Universe. He will destroy Israel's enemies once and for all.
Congratulations Shavei Israel, this is a wonderful struggle you managed despite all the criticisms and bareers of the immigration process. These people are enhancing the diversity and rainbow of the people of Israel. This does not exclude other tribes to do as well.
johnson spear sure, the rest religions are better and saints, yeeeeah, suuure. You are so ignorant, you are generalizating people. Murders are people, not religions or culture. If a government is bad the people is bad? No, just the government and the people who chose and support his actions. If your words define who is parasite, then catholics are, because kill a whole continent when came from Europe. So, don't be such an ignorant, please.
I htink it's wonderful that Kaifeng's Jews are making Aliyah, but I wonder ifit's right to "convert" them to Ashkenazi customs? They're being taught to eat, sing, dance and say Hashem's praises according to "modern orthodox" which is Ashkenazi-centered. The Kaifeng Jews are thought to have been Persian in origin, but they're not being taught Persian-Jewish customs. Being a Jew doesn't mean dressing in black and eating farfel.
May G-d Bless them....i feel so happy to be jewish when i see this...Even if they are of a different area in the world....I'm happy they study torah.....bring one to study...and hashem will count you as a hundred....amen...bring them all the more the merrier...amen
"In April 1920, the Republic of China’s founding father and first president Sun Yat-sen wrote a letter in support of the Jewish resettlement of Palestine." @austpers Like I said, Arabs or who you call "Palestinians' are treated like human beings. They are in the Israeli government. The ones in Gaza and West Bank, are unfortunately not, as they pose a threat to the Israeli civilians and mainly Jews. But you have to remember 20% of Israel are Arab and have full rights. In West Bank and Gaza they have their own governments and get lots of aid from Israel.
i think you will find that judaism is the parent not the cousin of christianity. and can you give one example when many have died under judaism in the last two thousand years please?
Wow, It is realy amazing, The jews people is in all the bloods and races in the world. Thinking in my grandmother was from China and decided to live in Peru with her Father and brothers.
These people probably score off the charts on an IQ test. Sadly, all men weren't created equally, intellectually speaking. East Asian Jews, damn, this video is awesome!
@Juggernaut788 Jews have been living in China since at least the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The Kaifeng Jewish community first arose sometime during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). There is plenty of information on this. See 1) "Survival of the Chinese Jews" by Donald Leslie 2) "Mandarins, Jews and Missionaries" by Michael Pollak 3) "Jews in Old China" by Sidney Shapiro 4) "The Jews of Kaifeng" by Xu Xin , etc. These are only a few of the books and papers on the subject. Interesting reading.
This is really a beautiful story and I think it has the potential for something more. Unfortunately, based on Zionist racial hatred, I fear these people will have a difficult time being accepted and assimilated. I must add that not all Jews are racist or Zionist and I believe those whose belief is Orthodox do have a very strong spiritual character and great compassion for others deep down. With that aside, this is still a beautiful story. Thanks for posting.
The descendants of Israel were scattered far and wide and now they are returning. I wonder if they ever do DNA testing to see if these people are Jewish or if it is possible?
I was born and raised as a very orthodox African American Jew. I'm just curious as to what does Jewish blood and non Jewish blood look like and how do you distinguish the difference. I always thought blood had three categories A, B and O.
Why do you need a DNA test? When people go out from Egipt they had different DNA, when they go out from Israel had more different DNA, when they go out from the other countries they were go (because were in war or something) they had different even more different DNA. So jewish can have whatever DNA, what's your problem? In fact, do you know jewish people have at least 3 diferent kinds of genotype? So if their family mixed their DNA with other since a lot of years, they can have even a rare DNA no seen before. Do you are a genetist or something? Do you have test to say who is jewish? Do you decide who is jewish because you found a gene that says how many "jew" or "muslim" or "evangelist" are you? Do you have a quimic reaccion that say who is jewish like a test pregnancy? Please, don't be such a Mengele.
If these Chinese went to in Italy, they would still be Chinese. If these Chinese went to live in African, they would still be Chinese. If these Chinese went to live in Mexico, they would still be Chinese.
I am a Jew from the Arab country - Iran, now lives in Israel. The Khazars are descendants of the 10 lost tribes, and also the European Jews are a minority of the Jewish people. Today most of the Jews are from Arab countries, but the Jews that predominate in the country are the Jews of Europe. Jews = the tribe of Judah, of if you know that the Pathans are from the tribe of Efraim? Soon the time will come and all of Israel will find, not only the Jews, and we will be close to 50 million!
It doesn 't matter how you look like, but your heart is more important. Jewish and Chinese people are the greatest people all over the world. I love the Jews because they are the chosen people of God, and their descendants are all over the world, and in many races.
@jervill1 Many scholars believe that Sinim actually refers to a city in Egypt. I think the connection to China was made because of "Sin," the Arabic term for China.
@grapisavillain My parents are both Jewish and we have a strong Jewish heritage. They both do not speak Hebrew or Yiddish and they don't have Jewish names yet they have a strong faith. Do you not recognize us as Jews?
@boliusb Very interesting..thanks for the info. But I have to say, I know a lot of Jews (those practicing Judaism) and they ALL claim that Jewish is not a race, and not an ethnicity. No such thing as "Jewish blood" or "Jewish genetics/DNA"......how do u explain that?
I myself am Korean Chrisrian and having found out there's Chinese origin of jews in the mainland China is just unbelievable but at the same time it shows how Israel (in this context, Jews) accepts everyone regardless of gender nationality ethnicity... wow homecoming aliyah
@smukase dude, the jews that u see in antwerp are orthodox jews (haredim in hebrew=fearful people). like all 3 monotheist religions there are very religious people, moderate religious and even atheists. anyway, it's nice to hear a muslim man like u, who is willing to learn about jews without expressing any hatred. salaam dude, peace on earth inshaalla
@boliusb, The diaspora is responsible for all this confusion. I agree with you, the Jewish religion has preserved an ethnicity and a way of life. Rarely foreigners have converted to Judaism and Jews were isolated in many places especially Europe. There is no surprise that without a distinct country, the Jews are confused to be part of the local populations to where their ancestors were exiled. Thanks for your fervent enlightenment.
@boliusb Are you sure they (European converts) are still the original Jews? "Genetics studies show common heritage and israelite origin" ---Please give me more proof on that--- But even if they did have those "genetics and heritage", they are still mixed with European blood. So they are mixed Jews?
This reminds me of my childhood...In my mother's home, we grew up Kosher. But Mom worried that her very religious mother, our Bubbe, might find out that we sometimes brought in Chinese food-traif. Mom taught my brothers and me that won ton were called "kreplach" and pork spare ribs were beef. Perhaps I was related in some way to these Aliot
@williameva There are 56 ethnicities in China including the majority Han. And in each ethnicity there seems to be more subdivision incl the Hans too of course. The borders ancient China shared with so many other countries as well as because of the silk route from Xian to Rome, it also means different peoples mingled and intermarried in those days. FYI, among the minority ethnicities who are "Chinese" in China are Russians,Koreans,Uighurs, etc. Most modern chn I daresay are not pure Han anymore.
Kaifeng-Chinese Jews are very close to ethnic Chinese or Chinese speaking muslims neighbors. Many of them integrate into muslim community, the rest are extremely hard to be distinguished from ethnic-Chinese. Local people used to call some Chinese Jews as "Blue Cap Muslims". Chinese Jews mension their ancestors as "Israeli", not "Jew". Nowdays Chinese Jews are either classified as "Han" (Ethnic-Chinese) or "Hui"(Chinese Speaking Muslim) depends on whether they practice islam
@DrMMHMD, you are referencing the Khazars a Turkic ethnic group unrelated to Ashkenazi Jews. Ashkenazi Jews have been genetically verified to be related to people of the fertile crescent and other semetic and Jewish groups.
I saw a doc. about them, they are not pure Jews. They are descendants of mixed Jews and Chinese. BUT they look more Asian and grew up as Chinese. I guess the temptation to be God's chosen people are just hard to resist.
@austpers Actually, this is not true. Egypt is not a collaborator. If anything, the people living in Gaza are pons for Egypt and the people living in the West Bank are pons for Jordan. Yassir Arafat was born where? Egypt.
i knew one of my friends was a jew from kaifeng, a chinese. of course back then we laughed at him even he was so seriously making the claim. that was late 70s and early 80s.. we were kids and didn't know better. honestly back then, the word jew didn't mean anything to us...
