A lengthy pursuit with a motorcycle rider fleeing at speeds well over 100 miles per hour came to an abrupt end on Tuesday, when CHP officers simply pushed the rider off of his bike and took him into custody.
You could hear the whole set laughing at the comments the reporters were making. Well, this ended well. But still....so many horrible, fatal collisions are happening with a lot more frequency now.
That's what I was thinking. He's gotten away so many times that he must have been surprised he was caught this time... and ONLY because the helicopter was already in the area. Otherwise, he'd have gotten away this time too.
All they really need to do is forward this video with the guy's name to his INSURANCE company, and see if he can ever afford to ride a bike again! - j q t -
@@quill444 Well, first they have to make sure it's the registered owner who was driving and not someone who stole or borrowed the bike, because that's what anyone could claim later without having been stopped and identified first.
Yep. Were the cops smart enough to check under the bridge for contraband? He could have just been trying to evade or thinking about his next move also.
Doesn't matter; In order to tie it to him, they need to see him drop it...Otherwise, any random person could be convicted of any random stuff in the road...They were happy with the book of charges they already had...Prob a 20 page indictment list...$200,000 bond, etc...
Man, one wrong move from another vehicle on the road that wants to switch lanes and it’s all over for this man. It could’ve ended worse. He should be thankful he didn’t crash.
Here we go again another commenter with the hypotheticals!!!! Stop living in fantasy land and stay in the reality of the situation!!🤣 Could've Would've Should've is a waste of time.
what you said makes no sense . why would the person you are referring to need to do that when there is a car with a flashing light that highlight the presence of a cop ? how do they ever manage without someone doing what you are praising
_"That's definitely a 10-22."_ _"Yes, it's a 10-22, absolutely no doubt about it!"_ _"What's a 10-22?"_ [ really long pause ] _"Oh, he's definitely 10-22!"_ - j q t -
That spotlight isn't as obvious in well lit areas in a full face helmet as you would think. Limited line of sight and lots of streetlights casting odd shadows.
Lol did I just hear that newscaster say you can’t pit a motorcycle?! Arkansas State Police is an equal opportunity pit organization 😂 They do wait until the bike slows down but they will indeed pit a motorcycle. It’s actually quite entertaining because the cyclists are surprised too !!
@@ImprovmanZeroi watch them & haven't heard of any yet. Yes, sometimes the riders get injured, but it doesn't matter, either way it's the fault of the motorcycle rider. No one made them do what they did. The rider caused it, not law enforcement. Now there was a fatal motorcycle accident involving a Arkansas state trooper, but the motorcycle pulled out in front of the trooper who was in pursuit of a car, so even then it's the fault of the motorcycle!!
@@timothygeiger8271 You can't say that a pit is always the fault of someone other than the trooper performing it. In fact a case of mistaken identity would make it the troopers fault with charges on top of that. Additionally, any rider worth anything can easily avoid a pit maneuver. That doesn't mean that there are not loads of criminals on them that are useless at riding, hence the success.
The duality of man You: he should have his license revoked for those insane speeds! Me: cmon man.. you look like you’re on a Sunday drive. I know that bikes gotta another 50mph in it 😂
Ive seen so many motor bike fatalities on UK roads its sad, and most are completely avoidable, bikers please think who is waiting for you at home, i get the speed thing but please your life is precious to all that love you and for us who have to see your life extinct.
20:53, good job, CHP. This suspect needs to have a minimum 5-year suspension on his license (I'd he even has one), and spend a minimum of 3 years in prison for being a danger to the public.
Hell...120 is just getting out of 2nd gear. The guy was just cruising...though I agree he was over the speed limit....he could have gone WAY faster if he wanted.
My VMax was rated at 0 to 60 in 2.65 seconds. 0 to 100 in 5.44 seconds. My first experience with a speed run on the bike I realized a firm grip is needed, it pulled my left hand away from the bars. Beautiful bike.
@@bluefishjoe hahaha it’s L.A they wouldn’t know fact from fiction now they walk away thinking helicopter top speed is a 125 mph 🤦♂️😂🤣 RC heli do that 😝👍
News reporters don't realize that a motorcycle driving 120 MPH that hits a car going 60 is like a motorcycle driving 60 MPH hits a stopped car. The drivers in the cars are at tremendous risk.
I've been at speeds that high on a motorcycle when I was young and stupid. At these speeds you will eventually crash no matter how good you are. I stopped doing that.
Fuck off no fleeing from the police should mean automatic zero dines if they can't catch me they shouldn't be able to fine mem granted I only run if I know they ain't got my plate. Cause no plate no crime
@@GraniteStater it's only dumb if you fail. people are much dumber for throwing money away on lottery tickets with a 1/10,000 chance to win a small prize. on a bike, at night, you have probably over 50% chance of getting away. in this case there just happened to be a helicopter in the air.
They’re all missing the big picture. He could of been a drug courier of some sort. When he was unseen beneath the overpass, he got rid of the drugs and hid them under there. After that he was much less concerned about getting caught.
Those new motorcycles are like a rocket, last year a friend let me borrow his super bike and i was in shock to see how fast they can go ,i used to ride a bike back in the 1990s but the new ones are like day and night difference.
The news media seemed so concerned for the safety of the fleeing rider. He obviously was not. If he tried going this in Arkansas, they would 'nudge' him off his bike with their patrol vehicle.
Guess the chopper report doesn't know the difference between male and female riders in skin tight denim 🤣🤣🤣 that is definitely a female or a very skinny male that enjoys wearing women's skinny jeans
Love CHP. My husband is retired CHP. Hes appauled with the way of the country today. The boldness of criminals today. What the hell happened to our country in just the last 4 years? Its gone to hell right before our eyes. This guy will be on his bike again within hours. Criminals do not fear the law today or consequences. Its a crying shame.
@mikevega1097 actually it's when Clinton got in office in my opinion. It's like that's when the toilet water started to swirl. But in the last 4 years it's swirling really really fast almost at the actual final gulp. Thanks for the feed back. 🙂
really no way to get away from a helicopter unless u can get into a building crowded with people and disguise yourself. otherwise they're going to do perimeter searches and narrow u down.
I wrote an insurance policy for a guy in New Jersey, who just bought a high performance Hyabusa. His driving record was lengthy. The annual policy was over $20K.
I’m no expert but I would say that bikers’ advantages would come from maneuverability more so than speed. The bike can change lanes and go in and out of traffic in the blink of an eye. A cop car ? Not so much. In regards to his riding attire and the temperature - he’s got a secret weapon that overtakes the cold, Adrenaline! He’s so wrapped up in the thrill of the chase and the possibility of being caught that his mind isn’t even aware of the temperature.
Actually, the biggest advantage a motorcycle has is acceleration. Usually a powerful engine for the mass of the vehicle, and being so small and light, compared to a car, they can out-accelerate pretty much anything there is. In the short-term, motorcycles can even out-accelerate many jet aircraft. This is also the reason police use them for traffic enforcement. They generally have a disadvantage, however, at sustained higher speeds, because they are less stable, and far too easy to lose control of. You need much faster reactions on a motorcycle than you would would in a car or truck, and must maintain the absolute highest level of situational awareness at all times. At sustained high speeds on a motorcycle you can wipe out and kill yourself before you're even aware that a hazard or obstacle exists. Maneuverability and the ability to fit into tighter spaces than most motorized vehicles is the second advantage, of course.
I think the comments about his clothing was that if he wiped out it was going to be an issue. I could be wrong, but that's what I though. I mean, it's SoCal, and I rarely wore a jacket when I lived there (didn't ride a motorbike there, though).
He's basically 160lbs of meat flying down the highway at 130mph even something like a big bug, a pothole or a mechanical issue would be the end of him. How foolish to risk you life and so many innocent people as well for what? Speeding, maybe he had some drugs to ditch (not like CA really prosecutes drugs aggressively anyway), or just wanted some excitement is reason to go postal?
Cops were not sneaky at all. He mainly waited for what for some reason had to his awareness become inevitable. He probably got rid of the worse charges under the overpass
Exactly!!! These officers should have avoided this entire exceedingly dangerous chase and not pursued this guy if only for speeding --- but, no, they had to give him a damn speeding ticket! Giving the speeding ticket was more important to them than the safety of innocent motorists on the road. In my opinion, these officers acted irresponsibly.
Funny but I was one of many San Diego police who just sat at intersections waving hello at a bike with the helicopter overhead. Our bike caught the hint and gave up
Somehow I doubt that, for two reasons: They ain't catching a motorcycle; and if they did, they're not going to kill someone for refusing to pull over. I really think you're making that up.
Fastest was 145 mph. I have done that speed before but in Death Valley when there are no other vehicles and driveways or intersections and my Yamaha FJR felt secure at those speeds. Not all motorcycles can do those speeds safely.
That was so dumb for the cop to do. The car next to the motorcyclist almost got his car hit by the falling motorcycle. The cop got lucky on that one too
I get the chills and spills just thinking about riding in a t-shirt in mid November @ 130 mph even in So-Cal its petty chill at night, I owned a 180 mph plus capable bike a few years ago, fine handling machine, great for keeping up with traffic with plenty of safe passing power, But i could never understand why such a machine was produced in the first place. To tempt and seduce suicidal adrenalin junkies in a culture addicted to both saving time and the concept of speed & defying the laws of gravity.
That Officer was a rider himself ! It was just a push to dismount him, Awesome ! Holstered his weapon, while controlling the rider down to the ground ! I vote this guy for Officer of the Month !
