In this video we go over the process of servicing the bearings that go in your Chris King hubs. The process is basically the same for servicing any Chris King bearing, but this is specifically focused on those that go in the hubs, and uses the appropriate grease for that.

I have a threadfit 24mm BB and attempted this. Do I need to flush the WD40 out with water, or will air do the job? I also have had a bear of a time getting the silver grease to flow from the same size bottle (bought from AVT bike). After doing this I've had a noisy BB; ordered a snap ring and seal kit and will be redoing the task to see what's up. Any additional advice? Do I do that same 1/3 grease amount?

Thanks. But my OCD-ometer was going off the charts because you refused to wipe off the grease stain on the work bench left by the rubber seal.

Wouldn't the WD-40 left behind inside the bearing after cleaning it break down the fresh grease?

Can this be done with the bearings in the hub? Don't want to have to buy the tool just to refresh the grease.

Well I do think you should have used a new rubber O-ring in this case, as suggested by Chris King.

Rubbish hubs. I bought them after having Hope RS4 for many years. Nothing but problems with these. Rattling noises. And servicing them after just 2 summers maybe 6000km is just bullshit.. Opened up and bearings totally dry like never had any grease in them.
