Except that’s exactly what the church teaches. As a catholic myself the church teaches that anyone who loves God and does his will in accordance with his understanding of it will be saved. That means a Sikh who never understood Catholicism/christianity will go to heaven im pretty sure. However there is a lot of debate in the church about who can be saved.

@padraicbrown6718

@@ForeignCapone -- It happens a lot. Listen closely to what she's saying. She's basically proclaiming a sort of new-agey "religion answers the big questions" philosophy; she proclaims a moral relativism "everyone needs their own answers and their own way to live". Christianity / Catholicism may not provide all the answer? Really? She proclaims a do-it-yourself religious relativism "I have this really humble Sikh friend". The only Catholic thing she said is that terrible sinners can come to repentance! On the other hand, Wretched lays it out: we're sinners, we easily fall prey to evil whims, we all fall short of God's standard; we must therefore repent, turn back to God and trust in him who redeemed us. That's pure Catholicism. Wretched misses a couple important things, like baptism as the biblically normative means of salvation; he speaks of grace but downplays the means of grace that Christ instituted within the life of the Church. He goes way off the rails into sketchy Protestant doctrines after this, but the point is made and her entire argument and worldview crumbles and has been refuted by sound Catholic doctrine coming from the mouth of an Evangelical (?). After that, it's all the (unbiblical and nontraditional) Solas and clearly this girl is utterly unequipped to speak Truth to Wretched. At the end, he does bring it back to relationship with God through relationship with Jesus, which is also 10000% Catholic. And the girl just doesn't get it. I know this is how a number of Protestant channels work. This is nothing but click bait; it's the equivalent of watching a professional MMA fighter beat up a twelve year old. You line up a bunch ignorant Catholics in Name Only and you shoot them down like ducks in a row. The entire video is disingenuous because Wretched isn't actually refuting a Catholic viewpoint, because the girl didn't provide a Catholic viewpoint for him to refute!

I believe that if you have your faith in God whether Catholic or Protestant you are saved. On one hand, I don’t condone Protestants who believe they can say the prayer and then do whatever they want and on the other hand, I don’t condone Catholics who try to add works to their salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that you saved by faith apart from works of the law. James 2 talks about how faith apart from works of the law is dead faith. I think that the point is is that God wants you to love Him and be in intimate relationship with Him with Him being the ruler of your life. Faith in Him saves you but after that I think your faith is proven by how you live your life. Hope this helps. If anyone thinks otherwise lmk

roman catholic have a different religion than biblical christianity. they do not believe Jesus saves absolutely, but rather that they have to 'do their sacraments etc' in order that God won't send them to hell. christians believe that Jesus will save you if you believe in Him, then you receive the Holy Spirit, and from there, you transform to become more like Jesus over time. but Jesus is the one whose righteousness is given to us, not our own actions n sacraments etc.

Faith alone is exactly what Jesus taught, and unless you wish to call Paul a liar (Paul is the strongest pillar of sola fide) then you must understand the relationship between works and salvation: we are saved by faith through God's grace, and BECAUSE we are saved, we wish to live true according to the spiritual reality in us. If one will claim to be saved but not show it, that person is hardly saved, why? Not because her faith is not enough, but because her faith is superficial, empty, dead, because as Jesus said, a good tree can't produce bad fruits, and so a bad tree can't produce good fruits, so a person that is saved, has a spiritual reality inside of her that will want to be put into practice.

@@marcotosi1321 it’s unfortunately a misunderstanding of the last couple of centuries. Vatican 2 says that faith alone is false unless if what you mean by that is faith alone but no true faith is ever alone. But saying faith alone can mean in some denominations that all you need is faith. But the Bible clearly teaches that it’s faith working itself out in love. @@DavidValle-ej8es As I said, SALVATION is achieved through faith, and it is manifested through works. A good tree gives good fruit, if you are saved, you will ACT like it, but salvation, as in, your ticket in heaven, comes only from faith, works are a CONSEQUENCE that are a mere proof of salvation, so therefore, salvation that has no proof does not exist: a "saved" person that does evil is not saved. It would be in the interest of any religion based Church to read , preach and follow the Holy Bible verse from Luke,John,Mathew all the way to book of Revelation then move on to Genesis and Exodus this would be a good starting point to understand that man made religion is wrong indeed very wrong love and blessing to all my brothers and sisters blessed are the one's who has faith in Our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ who has die on the cross for our sin's and paid the price with his blood.

The prods say the Bible is the only authority… but the Bible was compiled by the Catholic Church, who decided which books were canon and which were not… so in a way they accept some of the authority of the Church without realizing it. Also, (2) Christ being fully man and fully divine-not in the Bible. But Protestants believe this and it also comes from the Church… and (3) the Trinity… Also back to the point about what is canon-this is the craziest part. The protestants actually don’t use the same exact canon. It is almost the same Bible but for 7 books the protestants don’t have-the Septuagint, *which was part of the scriptures when Christ himself was around.* Jesus even quoted the septuagint. For whatever whacky reason, of all books these are the ones the Protestants decided to remove… ones used and referred to by Christ himself. Of course I’m generalizing here because there are so many different protestants… but that hints at a bigger problem: it’s not really a “scripture alone” movement and more of a “_my_ interpretation of the scripture alone” movement, hence all the division At the end of the day, the Bible is not perfect… but Jesus did not write a book. He founded a Church. Christianity is not a religion about a book.

The book of Mormon has old testament scriptures in it and we know that the book of Mormon denies the Lord completely making Him the brother of lucifer and not God. So does a verse of old testament make a difference in what you believe about scripture? When we look at the 7 books do we find 100% truth ? Do we find some errors in dates of battles? Do we find a consistent doctrinal trail that does not conflict with old or new testament scriptures? Jesus gave us the gospel and He quoted the books of the old testament. Jesus gave us the example of going to scripture for our truth and the apostles carried on with the tradition of quoting scripture not man made beliefs. Jesus even quoted the septuagint. For whatever whacky reason, of all books these are the ones the Protestants decided to remove… ones used and referred to by Christ himself. maybe you can show us all where Jesus got the demon possessed to walk through the smoke from burning fish entrails to rid them of demons like Tobit 6 tells you? When Jesus anointed the blind person did He use the gall bladder of a fish to do so? Tobit 6 makes that claim as well. When Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins 1 John 2:1,2 why did He not just tell us that Tobit 12 was the truth and salvation and eternal life could be bought ? There is not one verse that tells you to pray for the dead to attain righteousness and Jesus never quoted 2 Maccabee's12: to prove that the unrepentant could be made righteous after they pass on . Luke 16:19-31 is Jesus showing that once you die there is no hope for the unrepentant unlike what Judas believes in 2 Maccabee's 12. Who is right? : it’s not really a “scripture alone” movement and more of a “_my_ interpretation of the scripture alone” movement, hence all the division Sola Scriptura is saying that The New Testament is the Life and Teachings of Jesus and the original Apostles and the First Churches.. Sola Scriptura just points to THEM ,not just the Holy Spirit inspired Words, but the Holy Spirit inspired Authors/leaders and their Proven Authority as the true source to prove or test or Disprove future so called 'leaders' or future claims and teachings. Sola Scriptura means going all the way back directly to Jesus, John, Paul, James, Peter, Mark, Luke, Matthew, Moses, David, etc.. and going back to Their Lives, and Their preserved written teachings and traditions. Sola scriptura skips the questionable 'middle-men'.... thousands of years of Post New Testament groups and so called 'leaders' and takes you back to the first Source Leaders that were confirmed and are not questionable. This is the best way. Skip Luther and Skip the Vatican and just Learn the Truth Directly from Moses, David, Jesus, John, Paul, James, Peter, Etc... 2:12 “Faith alone”….🤔? Where in the Bible Does it say “faith alone with no acts?…” Mathew 16. 27: “For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.” Mathew 28. 20: …”and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”… …Wait! Jesus Didn’t say “announce to have faith alone! Even faith with no acts is dead 💀! James 2. 26: “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” This guy does not know what salvation is all about. For sure “he does have questions”. He is one of the many, like Saint Paul warns The faithful and true Christian Catholics in his letter to Timothy 1 Timothy 6. 3-5 Whoever teaches something different and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the religious teachings is conceited, understanding nothing, and has a morbid disposition for arguments and verbal disputes. From these come envy, rivalry, insults, evil suspicions, and mutual friction among people with corrupted minds, who are deprived of the truth, supposing religion to be a means of gain.

Jn. 21. 15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” 16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” 17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. Jn 10 1 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them. 2 Peter 2 (Saint Peter the first pope) 1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them-bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. 4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless 8 (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)- 9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings; 11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from the Lord. 12 But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish. 13 They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. 14 With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed-an accursed brood! 15 They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer, who loved the wages of wickedness. 16 But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey-an animal without speech-who spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness. 17 These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. 18 For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity-for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

Love One Another 11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous. 13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the friends. 17 But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and SHUTS UP his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 My little children, LET US NOT LOVE IN WORD OR IN TONGUE, but in ACTION and in truth. 19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. “CHERRY PICK”? Let’s first turn to Jesus. His words leave no room for doubt. In Mt 7:24-25, Jesus gives the parable of the wise builder who built his house on rock, and whose house would never fall, no matter the storms that would come. Now fast-forward a few chapters to Mt 16:16-19, where Jesus says, “You are Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” Now recall that St. Paul calls the church “the household of God” (1 Tim 3:15). Putting this all together, we have Jesus, the wisest of builders, building his house, his church, on rock, and promising the gates of hell would not prevail against it. How could this church possibly fall with a promise like that? St. Paul then makes the powerful statement that the church is “the pillar and foundation of truth” (1 Tim 3:15). Again, how could such a church fall away from the truth, as some contend? Such an event would directly contradict Scripture. In Luke 10:16, Jesus stunningly tells the Apostles “he who hears you hears Me,” and he will be with them “always, until the end of the age” [Mt 28:20]. At the Last Supper, Jesus further promises, “the Father … will give you another advocate to be with you always, the spirit of truth … he will guide you into all the truth” (Jn 14:14-17). Again, the emphasis is on truth, but now guarded by the Holy Spirit and combined with a promise Jesus and the Holy Spirit will never leave them. Also recall Jesus makes these promises to the Apostles. In Eph 2:20 (and Rev 21:14), it is made clear the Apostles are the foundation of the Church - “the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles.” This is powerful confirmation of the perpetual, divine assurance Jesus gives to his apostolic Church - the Catholic Church. Let us look briefly at the writings of the early Church. What again rings out clearly is the Church Jesus founded is “Apostolic”- that its popes, bishops, priests and deacons have succeeded in an unbroken line right from the Apostles. And according to these early church fathers, this “apostolicity” is a hallmark of the true Church. For example, in 110 AD, St. Ignatius, the martyred Bishop of Antioch and disciple of St. John the Apostle, would write, apart from bishops, priests and deacons, “There is nothing that can be called a Church”! This is a stunner if you attend a church without validly ordained bishops and priests - which is essentially all Christian denominations apart from the Catholic Church and her divided Eastern Orthodox members. In 250 AD the great St. Cyprian, the martyred Bishop of Carthage, would summarize our question perfectly: “It is on him [Peter] that he [Jesus] builds the church. If a man … deserts the Chair of Peter upon whom the church was built, has he still confidence that he is in the church?”

So apostolic succession and how do you explain the bad ungodly popes in history and for that matter Pope Francis now who contends that God created evolution? For example, in 110 AD, St. Ignatius, the martyred Bishop of Antioch and disciple of St. John the Apostle, would write, apart from bishops, priests and deacons, “There is nothing that can be called a Church”! Eph 2:19-22 points out that Jesus is the church and all believers in Christ are the church. Without bishops ,priests, and deacons Jesus will still be there and it is Jesus we are to listen too and believe in. This is a stunner if you attend a church without validly ordained bishops and priests - which is essentially all Christian denominations apart from the Catholic Church and her divided Eastern Orthodox members. Odd that there is no reference in scripture to point out validly ordained bishops and priests ? Not one church in scripture is ever named nor is there any central governing body that tells all the nameless churches what to believe until 385 AD when the roman Catholic church gets established. In comes doctrines and beliefs not found in contextual scripture and an authoritarian church group that tells the common believer what to believe. In 250 AD the great St. Cyprian, the martyred Bishop of Carthage, would summarize our question perfectly: “It is on him [Peter] that he [Jesus] builds the church. If a man … deserts the Chair of Peter upon whom the church was built, has he still confidence that he is in the church?” So the church is built on a man named Peter? I will trust in Christ the author and finisher of our faith rather than on a man .The church is built on Christ and not a mortal.

In other words, the entire law and all the prophecies from God are designed, ultimately, to motivate and enforce love for God and love for other people. And how do you love God? By living the life God chose for you to live which is to cause goodness to increase & evil to decrease. And this is something anyone can do regardless of race, color or creed

*Regardless what these people say, Protestantism is wrong on many issues.* The term 'Protestant' casts a pretty wide net. There are a number of factions/denominations regarded as protestant that aren't even Christian. So its a false premise. *And then after embracing all it's evil's you're gonna tell me you're saved?* You want to have a conversation about the evils of someones faith? Wanna go down that road? I guarantee the rcc has a much longer list of evil than any other religion. *Not the least of which being that Jesus founded a church NOT a Bible.* Is that supposed to be an 'evil'? Not sure what youre point is. Who says Jesus founded a bible? *So Sola Scritura is wrong.* You must be thinking sola scriptura. Catholics always bring up sola scriptura as though its some kind of boogie man they can attack when there isn't anything else to say. Holding Gods holy word as our highest and final authority is evil in your sight? *And Jesus founded a church NOT jyst a set if beliefs, which is what protestantism is.* Again, youre railing against a phantom. Jesus did establish a church, the ekklesia. Born again believers are part of the ekklesia, which i am. And catholicism is a set of beliefs too right? Just pick up a ccc or read Trent or some papal document. Its all beliefs. *And Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom to st Peter & the apostles NOT to Luther and his followers.* You clearly do not understand what the keys are. Every born again believer who faithfully preaches the gospel have the keys. If someone preaches a false gospel, they do not possess the keys. The rcc has a false gospel. *But of course non-catholics can be saved.* Anyone can be saved, even catholics, and the pope.

The preacher is teaching you must have the right relationship with Christ but then claims you can be like Satan as well. This is the problem with his belief Christ just provides a legalistic righteousness. Which provides no one to do anything right, as nothing has changed in you. The preacher claims he is righteous, yet he then admits he is a sinner. A righteous sinner is not biblical. Christ say however you are called to change.

For a righteous man falls seven times and rises again with the wicked stumble in time of disaster. -Proverbs 24 16. The righteous will fall from sin time to time, but the important thing is repenting and getting back up, also, we have Jesus, who is the high priest, for us, sitting in heaven interceding for our sins Hebrew, 7:25

"Jesus replied: “'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with. ... And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself." ~ Matt 22:26-40 Now Jesus concludes by saying that all the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands. In other words, the entire law and all the prophecies from God are designed, ultimately, to motivate and enforce love for God and love for other people. And how do you love God? By living the life God chose for you to live which is to cause goodness to increase & evil to decrease. And this is something anyone can do regardless of race, color or creed" And Protestantism (of which this guy is one) has it wrong

Man is primarily a spirit being,your body is your house not you,you need a body to function in the earth but its not you,you are a spirit being. And so as a spirit you're either righteous or a sinner. Because of Jesus, as a Christian, you've been made righteous so you don't call yourself a sinner. That's the reason people go to hell,not because of what they do but because of their nature. Righteousness and sin is a nature. If you don't accept what Jesus did and receive Him as Lord, no matter how good you are, you are not righteous that's why Peter was sent to the Roman centurion to get him born again because he was a good man but not a righteous man. Righteousness is a GIFT of God to anyone who believes and accepts the Lordship of Jesus. One more thing, 1 Pet 2:9 calls every child of God holy,so accept that and stop calling yourself a sinner, you can't be both or come from both worlds or kingdoms. IT'S NOT HUMILITY FOR A CHRISTIAN TO CALL HIMSELF A SINNER, IN FACT ITS EITHER PRIDE OR IGNORANCE OF WHY JESUS CAME. Lastly, when a preacher tells you to repent and you say stop judging me, the Bible says we should judge all things,of course not for condemnation but for growth. When are you going to have people who can tell you, you are wrong?

@@LaJuera25 Sure. And what else does he say later and throughout the Gospel that spell the Catholic Church?
