Yep. The fact that Joan’s friends and family so vehemently deny Christina’s claims is evidence (not proof, there is a difference) that this IS true. Their behaviour matches that of “Flying Monkeys” which are family members or friends that enable the Narcissist and see them for how they want to be seen as, not as who they really are. It’s common and it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s exactly what was happening.
