I have several Christmas neckties that belonged to a loved one. I didn't know what to do with them. I think this would be the perfect project. As you suggested, I would use fusible backing to help hold the strips in place. OR I was thinking that I could cut the tree shape from fabric or backing and then sew strips to that piece and then, after trimming, sew the tree to the quilt. Either way I'll be using those cherished neckties in a lovely project. Thank you.
Christmas neckties would make a great Christmas Tree Wallhanging. The fusible web would make it easier to create your project. You may want to consider some fusible lightweight interfacing on the back of the tie fabric for more stability, before attaching the fusible web. Can't wait to see your project.
