Let's hear ideas for casting the emperor. My suggestion: Werner Herzog. His portrayal of a crime syndicate boss in the "Jack Reacher" film was chilling.

terrible casting. he was all wrong for dune. the emperor was a powerful figure. walken is a frail old man who can barely get his lines out.

Well, some directors and casting agencies think they know better than the original novel writer. Nevertheless, the movie is good with some exceptions like the one you have just pointed out.

Walken is hardly frail and has no trouble with his lines. Guy is a super accomplished actor. Makes sense for him to be emperor. Especially since he's learned.

Timothy is pretty damn immature. hard to take his acting seriously. Way too young looking and again, immature and egotistic regarding his arrogance in interviews. And florence pugh is revolting. Inside and out, as a person, actress, super entitled.
