We power each step with our hip muscles coordinating with our abdominals. The power is projected in a circular fashion, moving our body around the axis of the standing leg, using our hip flexors at some times and the hip extensors at others. This simple exercise will show you how to pull with the hip flexors to either move the body in a circle, or in combination with the waist rotation, to walk in a straight line, either forward or backward.
The Walking Code teaches how to coordinate your upper abs, lower abs, and hip muscles, for proper walking technique and proper posture. Many people use the hip muscles incorrectly, leading to poor alignment, heavy heel striking, anterior pelvic tilt, and many other common walking abnormalities
