I find it really helpfully that Claire (and the whole of BA) explain the reasoning for taking certain steps, rather than just doing something and not explaining why, it really helps with baking and cooking!!

@@kenalexandremeridiit was a hand me down from my mother so I couldn't tell you the exact year or model. Any paperwork has been lost. Just that it's for sure older. They are expensive but this thing has lasted for YEARS and a good stand mixer is a great investment for someone who is in the kitchen a lot or just likes baking for fun.

am i the only one who loves Claire's hand movements? they are so strong and confident and loving at the same time. like she is a mother to every ingredient she touches. i would trust anything to these hands bc i'm sure everything they hold would be safe and sound.

I love when they do everyday things 😊 It would be awesome if they made a series for things people usually take the shortcut on, ie box cake, or relatively simple things like scrambled eggs, and show where there's a way to make it so much better with really simple changes. And add the science like she does here. I feel like I learn to be a more intuitive cook if I know why things interact with each other the way they do. Bonus points if they let Claire do it, this girl needs a break from gushers and cheetos 😁

I'm a 2 week old baker. I started the addiction by watching cooking/baking shows for years. Then i found BA and have religiously watched these. Especially Claire, and Brad. Yesterday i bought myself a Valentine's day gift of a Kitchenaid stand mixer...the exact one used in this video. I'm very excited to try this cake! first thing in the morning I'm going to attempt this one!

Sydney Parker its a quart container. Its a disposable container that is often used in kitchen prep. I use to use them for my station as a saute chef. Things like scallions, shallots, grated cheese, procuitto, etc. They also make ideal drinking cups because of there size and availability. I use to make a strawberry lemonade spritzer and then put the lid on and cut a slit for my straw. Spill proof so no worry of it getting in the food you cook.
