Clarisonic battery replacement
Reemplazar baterías Clarisonic
The batteries used to replace the original are Ni-Mh AA 1300mAh just like these in this eBay add, I just got them off eBay 'cause it was easier for me to get them at home and not having to go search for them, but any good electronic store might have them
www.ebay.com/i...
I preferred to get Ni-Mh, so won't have memory effect as the original Ni-Cd that the Clarisonic came with, also when the batteries are completely charged in the Clarisonic charger the Clarisonic should be removed from the charger, the problem with cheap chargers in general is that it won't know when the batteries are charged and keep sending current to the batteries, this over current is dissipated as heat, and the batteries would suffer with that heat and basically break them. The Ni-Mh batteries can cope better by the heat produced by that overcharge.
Talking about the mAh the higher the number the better capacity those batteries have to hold the charge, so basically the Clarisonic will not have to visit the charger so often.
Another important thing is not letting the batteries run out of juice completely as this will also break them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why the heck did they make it nearly impossible to replace the batteries. I guess the 200 + dollars spent wasn’t enough for this company they want you to buy a new one every time they release it. Even ppl are tired of iPhone for the same reason. Thank you sir. I know I am very late, but your video is still useful.

This is great! I have a Clarisonic Plus that I've owned for about 10 years and it finally stopped working. I feel lucky because I see some people who purchased more recently are barely getting 3 years use before it dies. Anyway, I just got off the phone with Clarisonic and they told me they don't sell the Plus any more. They gave me a coupon for 25% off a Mia. After watching this video I am going to try and put new batteries in my Plus. I figure I've got nothing to lose since it's dead anyway. I'll report back if it works for me. I am not handy at all so pray that I don't solder my eyeballs shut or glue my feet to the ground or anything like that. Thanks for this video!

PATOLA PATOLA mine lasted 7 yrs. and I had bought an extra brush a few yrs. ago, that was I think over $40.00! So much for thinking ahead, now they don’t make them! I’m not handy enough to try to fix it!🤨

Bought a Clarisonic 7 years ago for one daughter. It still works but rarely used. Bought another one 14 months ago for other daughter that is now dead. Won’t charge at all. What a waste of money. Now after doing a lot of research, I’ve learned that there are other methods of washing that clean just as well as these pricey units without the high cost and without the skin/capillary damage.

They should certainly use a way to change the batteries once they reach the end of their life's, specially not only because it is a pricey item, but because the environmental waste we produce every time we dispose one appliance for a small flair like this

My Clarisonic has stopped working after 2.5 years... it registers being charged, but won’t turn on. Although I have used it 1-2 times daily for this long, it’s such a simple device to just stop working after that time... especially since I paid $130 for it not including all the replacement brush heads.

I am so sorry but I think it would not be economically viable, only taking into account the shipping & possible custom charges I think it would probably be cheaper to just buy a new one. I would do it for free if you would be local, but otherwise I would recommend to find an amateur repairman in your friends and / or family, you will probably find someone able to do it for you.

hi! i’m getting a new clarisonic mia 2 & i did my research on Ni-Cd batteries... so it says from my research that i should completely discharge it before charging it AND dont overcharge it. so is your statement in the description that says not to let batteries completely run out of juice for Ni-Mh? just making sure. thanks!
@MichelleGianni

Good video but I think it is best to wipe the silicone around the edges before it dries. If you cut the silicone with a blade once it dried you could be opening a hole through an air bubble.

My belief is that you should never let any type of battery run out of juice, but then again, I am no expert in batteries, so do as you think is best. Good luck 😁

When I soldered the final connection the green LED started blinking. When I press the power button it just blinks green 15 times consecutively. I used eneloop batteries and they come charged. To sum it up, is there some sort of reset I need to do, or must I put it on the charger for 24 hours even with charged batteries? You would think it would just work off the bat. I also have not put the back on yet, but don’t see why that would matter. Any help would be much appreciated!

Great video. About to attempt this fix for my girlfriend. Question: Why did you choose to not wipe off the excess silicone before it hardened? I was planning on using hot glue in place of silicone for this repair, but I think the silicone will give it a cleaner look. I ask about the excess goop, because it seems like extra work to remove it after it's hardened. Also, wouldn't you be left with a jagged edge from the cutting? This amateur repairman is eager to know your reply!

Sorry it took me so long to respond back, I was just very busy when I first saw your email and forgot about it afterwards. Anyway, just in case you did not do it yet, I just thought it would be easier to cut the excess with a sharp razor edge or cutter than the mess to clean fresh silicone that goes everywhere. And it worked. :)

Cutter (or razor blade or whatever is called over there) to pry open:www.amazon.com/Darice-Retractable-Razor-Knife-Assorted/dp/B002C12EHM/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1472470342&sr=8-8&keywords=cutterSome kind of lever to help you opening while you cut with the cutter, I just used the edge of an halogen lamp I had around at the momentSoldering iron with some core solder to solder the new batteries:www.amazon.com/60-Watts-Soldering-Iron-listed/dp/B0006NGZK0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1472470535&sr=8-5&keywords=soldering+ironAnd Silicone with a silicone gun to re-glue batteries and make the Clarisonic water tight again.www.amazon.com/Newborn-930-GTD-Drip-Free-Caulking-Cartridge/dp/B000BQS5GO/ref=sr_1_2?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1472470816&sr=8-2&keywords=silicone+gunwww.amazon.com/08646-White-Silicone-Sealant-9-8-Ounce/dp/B0002GU14C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472470862&sr=8-1&keywords=white+siliconeBut you could use one of those tubes of silicone that do not need the gun if you don't have any:www.amazon.com/J-B-Weld-31312-All-Purpose-Silicone/dp/B00M2USVI4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1472470899&sr=8-3&keywords=white+silicone

Thanks for linking the products. I forgot to include this question in my first comment. What was that bottle of white stuff? And how long did you leave the white stuff on before placing both halves together again?
@me61ic
@me61ic 8 лет назад
Jenn that is silicone, not trying to offend, but if you have never seen or used silicone I would ask a friend (that knows how to use a razor balde, soldering iron and silicone) to do this for you... You just apply the silicone, put both halves together and let it cure for 24h. then cut the excess with the razor blade. You can hurt yourself severely with the razor blade if you don't know how to use it, specially when cutting both halves apart as they are thermo-glued together... ALWAYS KEEP YOUR HANDS OR BODY AWAY FROM THE CUTTING EDGE WHEN YOU ARE HOLDING THE CLARISONIC

My clarisonic worked very well for the first 2-3 years, after it stopped functioning, I would repair it, but it is not possible because there is no customer care! what should I do, should I throw it away? I do not think it is right, last week I took to repair a 30 $ blender, because I can not fix a device that costs 5 times as much and it works only 1 minute a day? I went to sephora, checked the box and the sheets inside, there is no written anywhere that, after the two years of warranty, you have to throw it in the rubbish! is a very, very incorrect behavior, not all people can afford to spend 150 $ (and more) every 2 years! for this reason I am trying to alert people who, before buying clarisonic, also consider this issue! please, share this, it is very important that all people who want to buy clarisonic know this problem too!

So, you have to break the seal to change the batteries, and the chance of water getting INSIDE skyrockets!! Whose brilliant idea was that in the design department??
