A great day out for Drive It Day 2023 to the Peaks. Featuring Oscar the Austin A40, Maggy the Morris Minor, Annie the Austin A35, and the Triumph Spitfire. Apparently we were heading for Tideswell most of the day!
Nice one lads! All beautifully restored examples of when I was a very young boy, my parents and my uncles & aunties had these cars. (We didn’t have motorways back then!) Brilliant to see them all together like this.
Felicidades por el canal, los coches clásicos me gustan mucho especialmente los clásicos britanicos,me suscribo para seguir viendolos, saludos desde las islas canarias
Excellent! After the head gasket issue, I did became increasingly worried by your rubbing it in of your extensive picnic hamper, when Liam had not a sausage. I was mightily relieved seeing the boy eating later on. Oh yeah and hope the A35 got home safe sound and is now a happy bunny. Great run and video 😎👍 Cheers Johnny
Thanks Johnny! I couldn't get Liam's picnic set in frame, even on ultrawide! 😂 Annie the A35 made it back and is awaiting a good going over by Liam, parts have been sourced so she should be back to full health soon, well as full as a 58 car can be.
@@rustenuts Cheers, think Liam needs to look at subsection 2 of the bullying in the passager seat white paper (2013), I'm becoming increasingly certain he could have a case 😂. Was pretty certain Annie would romp home steaming. Love your style and will watch a few more of your videos. Keep up the good work and thanks for replying 👍 Johnny
My Dad had an A30 in blue which he bought second hand, I think, but then he replaced it in 1962 with a new A40 in red with a black roof. 8416 NF which came from a dealer called Green & Zonis on Bury New Road in Salford.
Lovely insight Nom de Plume. I hope it brings back some memories seeing the cars still in use. A gentleman in the A40 Farina club has used his A40 daily from new and continues to do so. It's red with a black roof and looks absolutely wonderful!
Thanks for the comment Colin. Unfortunately so many of these cars have lost their original registrations. Would be great to find some more of the history of the car, who knows it could be the one you learnt to drive in. If we see you at any shows please do come say hi and if Oscar is around you are welcome to go for a spin!
