Goldeneye 007 Reloaded review. Classic Game Room reviews GOLDENEYE 007 RELOADED for Xbox 360 (also available for Playstation 3 PS3) from Eurocom and Activision. This HD remake of Goldeneye 007 (first seen on Nintendo Wii in 2010) has a new game engine and vastly improved HD visuals with more color and detail. Menus remain the same, story line is the same and multiplayer works equally well on Xbox Live for the 360 version (PS3 version also has multiplayer but I didn't get a chance to test that version). Goldeneye 007 Reloaded gameplay is solid first person shooter style gameplay with a variety of weapons and guns that the player collects throughout the campaign. Goldeneye 007 Reloaded multiplayer connects quickly, has a variety of mutliplayer online game options and works well. This CGR Goldeneye 007 Reloaded video review features Goldeneye 007 Reloaded gameplay recorded from Xbox 360.

My friends and I get together once a week to play this game split screen. It does a lot right. Modifiers, paint ball, "Midget" mode, Golden gun, Rocket matches, all that good stuff. The maps are fantastic as well. They really recapture the style of map design from the classics like GoldenEye 64, Perfect Dark, and time splitters.

Okay, so it's a Xbox/Play Station port of a Wii remake of an N64 game that is a tie-in for a film that was in a series that was originally based on a book series by Ian Fleming.

For those thats been saying this is a CoD with Bond in it. Its not, the only thing really CoDish is the controls (if it ain't broke don't fix it). Do you really want to play this on a N64 Controller? And don't give me that nostalgic buillcrap. I played Perfect Dark HD on the 360 and its the exact same game but with waaaaay better controls and a lot of fun. N64 Goldeneye did not age well and this was a great attempt. ITs not perfect and the fact that most of the old stuff that made the game fun like classic levels and weapons modernized and more depth in the multi tier mission objectives, its a solid game.

+DaShonuff I honestly think part of the reason they didn't just straight-up do GoldenEye HD like they did Perfect Dark is because Rare immediately gave up the license after the original game. If Activision was allowed to, they might have just did the same thing as the XBLA version of Perfect Dark and called it a day, avoiding the argument over whether this remake was a good idea.

My wife (then girlfriend) bought me the special edition with the PS Move bundle. I used the Move for the first mission or two then went back to using a controller. I had the Wii version years ago, got the golden classic controller edition, but that was when I sold gaming stuff and stupidly sold that with my Wii and Skyward Sword golden remote bundle years ago. Huge regret.

I swear every time I go on a first person shooter video I swear when I look in the comments I see a guy saying something about cod.I think people need to appreciate a good remake of a game instead of comparing it to a year after year first person shooter.

@Samuslovr1 Fair enough :) I think having no recoil makes it better though, makes it more arcadey- recapturing a little of the old goldeneye feel! Ahhh well, to each their own.

Boy was that a disappointment, and I was so excited for that game before its release. Hoping they will still release new Bond games and actually give them to a good developer that will give it up to date graphics/controls and decent storyline (if not movie based).

Truthfully. Its amazing. I enjoyed it Beyond any game iv'e actually played. Many people complain about recoil. well recoil can suck it. Its exellent and truthfully i think its MUCH more fun then ANY call of duty game ive played!!!

thegamerguy yeah so? in perfect dark we had bots, in all the other james bond games made after has bots, in MW3 released the same year as reloaded has bots.

+Doctor Gordon MW3 doesn't have bots. Nice to meet a kindred spirit. I only got Black Ops 3 for my ps3 because it does have bot multiplayer. Same with Haze, Unreal 3 and Brink amongst others.

So how does this game match up with the old school N64 Goldeneye game? Because that game was amazing and super fun- and it seems like all the modern remakes have been letdowns... Anybody have the original N64 game to tell me how this new one compares? I'm kind of thinking of buying it, but I'm not so sure.

@gendorokubungi Goldeneye was very innovative and brought a lot of new things to the FPS genre. A complex story, complex mission objectives, stealth elements, different bodyparts treated as different damage zones, reloading weapons (yes, this was actually a new thing back then). It was a completely different than your quake stile "kill everything that moves and find the red keycard" kind of game.

something he didnt mention. with the multiplayer. l hear its almost impossible to get the game 100% platinum unless you boost the online. just like 007 bloodstone. so i wont go near this game.because i dont boost. and i dont want to screwup my trophies list with incomplete games. activision have to STOP putting online trophies if they make you boost to win them

Perfect Dark will always be the true remake of Goldeneye for me as it was made by Rare before they sold out. It has the same feel as the original unlike this one which is a CoD clone.

@Samuslovr1 That odd, looks about the same to me (And i have played both) besides the better graphics and slight changes in the weapon design. How is this a cod clone but the wii one is not? I agree on a bigger fanbase though, but thats because there a lot of more shooters on the other two consoles.

I wasn't too pleased that Craig was replacing Brosnan in this game when i first heard about it (after all, it's Brosnan's movie). But it turned out to be a pretty great 007 game, and just a good game in general. I had lots of fun with this one. 007 Legends was a bit rushed and disappointing though

Craig is in the game because there is no licences to use Brosnan and if they did it would have had to cost alot more for that and its Activision they dont wanna spend too much money. Plus its a Reboot/Remake so it should have Craig as Bond and Brosnan is my favorite Bond of all time.

@AnEvilPanda There's mainly one thing that game developers of these days are really lazy with. Optimisation. There's only one game that looks amazing and is also very optimized. Crysis 2. Sadly that's pretty much the only good thing about it. I'm a fan of multi-platform games because I don't like having to buy a specific product to be able to play another product. Uncharted looks awesome but I don't want to buy a console just for that. It was nice responding to your comment again, Panda. XD

its in every call of duty its called free for all , not to be a troll , Just sayin , aha . but i agree, ive been disapointed by alot of tittles not featuring it , as its the fastest way to get a good understanding of the maps, an sometimes you just dont wanna be tactfull , an need that run an gun fix. Great review as always . its disapointing how overlooked this games been due to the other two major fps's dropping at the same time .

@MrPrototypz Be more specific, GOW? Gears of War or God of War? Cuz its not that God of War 2 sucked, It had a different director other than the All mighty and porwerful David Jaffe. It had a different style, Thankfully GoW 3 took many of the suggestions of DJ and made it a great game.

You know what. I would like to try this. I think that it would be worth it. My problem is however, is that you can't remake a game and change the actor. Even if you love Daniel Craig you have to say that it isn't right to remove Pierce Bosnan. That is the problem I have because I don't like Daniel Craig and loved the N64 version of GoldenEye. I am disappointed by Craig and Bond and they shouldn't have fixed something that wasn't broke.

Modern video game remakes usually don't impress me, but this is definitely an exception. From what I see here, it looks like the producer(s) did everything right. I hate it when a remake takes perfectly good features and removes them to support something else. Sad thing is, rotten game remakes aren't anything new; check out Sword Of Sodan for the Genesis if you don't believe me. :-)
