nothing would be better than falling upside down through the screen shooting and hitting the balloon and/or the other biplane as you plunged to your death lol. that game was awesome

Had this system as a kid, we played 2 player, I remember specifically. One of the controllers had to be dead. Or some random issue. So much fun. This and Burger Time and Tron. Poker, man. This stuff was mind blowing. Proud to be a 40 year old gamer. Thanks for this video.

This wouldn't have been that bad a game to come with the system, but instead they chose Poker & Blackjack to appeal to adults and parents buying it for kids. Lame. Also, there was something wrong with the system that didn't allow one-player games. Two player home games were the thing since Pong and Atari 1977-80, and its sports games looked really good. But 1980-1 was really the start of the one-player games like Space Invaders, Missile Command, and Asteroids.

He should get the Sears version of the IntelliVision, so he can play all the games Intellivision II can't, since the Sears versions that are available actually work.

I have to concur with the other posters on the biplanes - it was the best. The thing is that the quality and fun of the game grew with your skill. You can get really good at flying those things, working up speed off of dives, etc. Actually, the only game of the three that had more to do with luck than skill was the racing one.

Biplane fans, do a youtube search for an indie game called 'Squadron Scramble'. There's also an excellent video out there from the 1980s of the original Intellivision programmers playing Biplanes on the day one of them left the company. Type in 'Intellivision: The Great Biplanes Tournament' for that.

The best way to clean a cart is not with alcohol, it will eventually corrode the metal. Best to use something like windex. Also you want to wait until the cart is dry before playing it, or use another clean q-tip to dry it. Also make sure the console is clean too.

I remember seeing the add for this game on magazines , it was simple unthinkable to have a cartridge with multiple games back in those days.

The plane game was the best, by far, and it got better as your skills handling those biplanes also got better. I don't remember getting a frozen screen on that game, not once.

I had this game when I was a lad . Biplanes was by far the most fun . All you had to do is blow on the cartridge and it would work just fine lol .

I loved this game as a kid. And now I find it strange, since I had no one to play with. Great video, great memories. And I love the music in the intro, as always. Is it a commercial track or made for your show? Kudos!

You screwed up Bi-Planes was by far the best games in Triple Action, and actually one of the best games EVER PUT OUT for the Intellivision, It is just too bad it froze on you or maybe you would have seen that!

I'm pretty sure many people already know this, but when Mattel created a game, they would mass produce it first, and any bugs found in the game where put in the instruction manual as obstacles or features.

Bi-Planes is the BEST game on Triple Action. The other 2 games, well, they suck. But Bi-planes alone makes it worth getting. The physics make the game.

Could the freezing be related to the system? CGR was using a mk.2 IntelliVision, maybe the mk.1 didn't freeze the game.

While I understand your frustration, I have to mention that the intro is a very central part of any show and I think fans should definitely be able to express happiness or disappointment in it if they want. I personally just want the squirrel to stay, because it has been the "mascot" since 1999. That's all I want, but I respect people's right to voice their opinions on everything. Yes. Even the intro. Nobody called it the glue, even though OP's comment was kind of overly negative and annoying.

I totally agree with that. Also I didn't understand this "war" to give back the squirrel. The last intro was fine to me. It was still classic game room after all. I like the squirrel, but not as much to whine about that

Biplanes was a favorite of the Blue Sky Rangers (mattel's in house intellivision programmers) look up 'Intellivision: The Great Biplanes Tournament' on youtube

Biplanes is the best game in Triple Action in my time it didn't freeze. Never even once. And the model wasn't this white one, it was a black one. Maybe it's different.

The cue tip should be clean! If you are cleaning newer games where it stores the save game data on the cartridge you risk deleting it all!

I recently played Sonic The Hedgehog on my PAL Sega Mega Drive. I got all the Chaos Emeralds and reached Scrap Brain zone. Then the game crashed, and with no password or save feature I felt really down that day!

Cleaning Level 1: Use rubbing alcohol, Level 2: use rubber eraser, Level 3: use fine grit sandpaper. If all else fails, Level 4: buy new game. ;)
