I encourage you to consider wearing nitrile gloves while doing that. I managed to give myself a petroleum allergy with some of that kind of stuff. A petroleum allergy makes dealing with oil, final drive fluid, etc. challenging.

Good advice, i never knew that. I did develope a sensitivity to two component stuff like resin hardener they use on carbon fiber or glass fiber mats etc. Not cool. Now when i need to paint the house, always wear gloves. All that chemical crap, even though it smells nice, can be pretty rough.

Another good product for filling in the black plastic parts (where the magic marker was used in the video) is black shoe polish/dye. Works good on all black plastic which get scratched even on bikes and cars, especially on side mirrors.

I just crashed last sunday. For these black marks I used Armor All leather wipes and a white eraser. Worked pretty easy and all of these marks are gone now.

I think a light soft eraser might also work well to get the most of the stuff off then use a soft cleaner to get the rest...

The Mr Clean Magic Erasers are also pretty effective with many stains. - Van

The majority of time you are able to continue using the gear after a fall. Make sure to clean and inspect to make sure you are good to go before heading back out to ride. - Van

Alpinestars should really think about selling the outer shell and inner shell of that boot separately for people who already own a pair.

Brain! love ur vids. Can you do a video on how to setup a garage like a PRO? Obviously home garages have its limitations but it would be fantastic to see how you personally would set up a 2 car garage for the everyday Joe, the RIGHT way. Tools / stands / placements / where to put what and the essentials. All of which is great for promoting store items as well. THANKS! James

5 years ago... Just saw this. Never thought to try using my Suspension Clean for this. What does everyone do to clean off bug guts from the stretch panel areas? I soak cloth in water and let sit then wipe.

A wet rag with some mild detergent will work well on the bugs. If you do not want to have to rinse it you can try a wet microfiber rag. - Van

I crashed my R1 today accidentally doing a power wheelie at 120kph. Was wearing alpinestars gp pro gloves and jacket zip into alpinestars pants and alpinestars super tech r boots. With shoei helmet(didn’t get scratch). Gear turned out basically the same as your video. But my toe slider went loose on one side.

@@sportbiketrackgear forgot to mention I walked away from the crash without a scratch thanks to the gear. Frame slider also save the bike from any serious damage.

If i get caught in the rain(i got caught using the RST Race Dept 4.1 i got from you guys), will drying it and rubbing motul perfect leather be enough to keep it from getting stiff?

Whats inside the suspension cleaner? Kerosene? Is it similar to a brake cleaner ?

Man, I know turpentine is old as dirt, but that stuff works. Usually, it's just boiled down pine stumps. 91% alcohol works great for certain things and those are all I ever use on everything for chemistry sake. I think he could probably go aggressive to get the back better, but common sense is a wonderful thing we humans were given.

It is a very mild cleaner that we use to clean many things. Much less aggressive than standard brake cleaner for sure. It is mild enough that it will not remove the ink from stickers when you clean the bike with it. - Van

LOL the old man does most of the work and the kid rides the bike. Max Van works in our warehouse full time when out of school and part time back in the old days when kids went to school. - Van
