Cleaning the ferret room  

I have 3 different cleaning routines for the ferret room, one is the daily pickup, one is a weekly cleaning and the third is deep cleaning. I scoop their litter boxes, change/freshen their water and food twice a day, and pick up any messes that should be picked up, like spilled food or accidents, although accidents are very rare in their room. They happen more when they’re out running around the house. I change their bedding, vacuum/sweep, and empty their trash can every week, and I deep clean every 2-3 weeks depending on how dirty it is. Deep cleaning is when I pick up all the rugs, mop the floor, scrub out the litter boxes and refill them, clean out their stash spots, vacuum out their huts/houses and clean whatever else not included in daily or weekly cleaning. Owning ferrets is the joy of my life, but it definitely comes with a lot of responsibility, cleaning is a big one, especially if you have a ferret room and you want to keep the ferret smell at bay. The ferrets themselves are pretty clean and they do an excellent job at cleaning their bodies, but they are messy when they eat and sometimes when they play. And anytime you leave food out for a pet, cleaning is essential. I’m not a fan of bugs or dirt 😂 As a side note, I use warm soapy water and a vinegar solution to clean the floors on the ferret room. It’s one of the safest options for them. Using regular cleaners can make them sick, especially if it gets on their paws and they lick/ingest it
