Once I cut dairy out the acne stopped completely. Some people are affected by red meat. I don’t eat red meat so not sure. But I highly recommend laying off those types of foods. Sometimes I fall off and I get a blemish here and there but once I cut the dairy out it stops again.

I'm struggling with acne and hyperpigmentation right now, and I just went to the dermatologist yesterday. He prescribed me to use the Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide Topical Gel (1%/5%) in the morning and Tretinoin ((0.05%) to use at night. I hope these products work for me because I am tired of not having beautiful skin and not representing the melanin girls' crew right! Thanks for this video, it's giving me hope that my skin will get better and there is someone out there that was just like me! Keep up the good work 😘!

Girl!!!! Trust me you are not the only one out here with the struggle! I know exactly how you feel. My skin has cleared up a lot but I still have a ways to go. I also highly highly HIGHLY recommend chemical peels. I did a series of three (1 a month for 3 months) and it made a WORLD of difference for me. And the prescriptions he gave you were spot on. You'll have clear, melanin poppin, black girl magic skin before you know it - yasssss!!! Just stay consistent (especially those nights when you don't feel like washing off your makeup haha!)

I went to a dermatologist and he has given me the same prescriptions for my hyperpigmentation and acne and sadly it does not work, but it heals by itself in about 12-24 months

I agree on the Cetaphil.. even when i was in college and wore NO makeup and had perfect skin I never felt like my skin was clean with Cetaphil.. it actually would make me have an occasional pimple or two so I switched back to my normal cleanser.

Yeah I've completely stopped using Cetaphil at the point. I need soap suds to feel like my skin is clean haha. Even though I'm sure Cetaphil does work.

I have hyperpigmentation on my upper nose and I've been just starting to get rid of it so i only use rapid tone skin repair from Neutrogena day and night moisturizer and to clean my face i use the clear pore cleanser.

I use African Black Soap & Loreal Clay masks to cleanse. To clear up my actual acne Curology has been my holy grailllllll. Now i'm just struggling with the acne scars... i scar so badly even when i don't pick at the spots. Hydroquinine is effective but it noticed it lightens the areas around the spots too.. so it made my skin splotchy looking. I'm stuck on these scars!

Ooo you are too funny! Subscribed. I have horrible cystic hormonal acne; Going vegan & getting on Beyaz took me from 15 deep painful cysts every day of the year to 2- 3 sensitive cysts each time I have my period. I still have so much hyperpigmentation on my cheeks & chin though. Question! How do you deal with the Tretinoin peeling? I'm on Retin A too....but I quit using it as soon as my skin starts to peel.. I know what is logic :P ... because I don't like looking like Queen Flakes A- Lot.

Thanks for subbing!! I just use a lot of moisturizer to help with the peeling from the tretinoin. I also use a Clarisonic brush that helps to get rid of the dead skin as well.

I love it!! I've used both and I think they work the same. I do prefer the cream though because it tends to come in a larger bottle, so you get more.

Haha yes I'm in Atlanta! I go to Dr. Boutte at Premier Dermatology & Surgery in Lilburn. It's a bit of a drive but she really understands black skin so it's worth the drive! When I got my chemical peels I lived in Orlando :( but I'll say it's more about what kind you get vs. who does it. I got the VI peel (viaesthetics.com/). The website gives a ton of different places that administer the peel, so that's how I found my person in Orlando. But Dr. Boutte's office does Vitalize checmical peels (which I've also gotten before years ago) that are really good as well. Hope this helps!!!!

How much did you end up paying in total but most importantly did you see a big improvement after the first série and can you type the name of the type of chemical peel you got (you said something like vso or something like the expensive one lol

You can normally find pretty good package deals. So the first time I got the series of 3 I paid $500 for the package. My skin cleared up completely. The second time I got the series of 3 (more so for maintenance and to clear up a few dark marks) I got a package for $600. Just depends on where you live and the dermatologists/estheticians in your area. The name of the peel I got was the VI Peel (link I description box)

Whew... too long to remember. Definitely since I was a teenager. For me it's something I have to use as a preventative measure for my acne. If I stop using it my acne will come back STRONG.

Yeah I think it just depends on your skin. Mine is extremely acne prone. Do you use anything in addition to retin A? For me it's the combination of all the products I use that keeps my acne away. If stop using any one product... it won't be pretty lol

Oh all I use is retin A to get my acne cleared and a moisturizer to keep my skin lively but I am looking for something that can help with my uneven skin tone
