I did this same exact chemical peel and let me tell you I was SOOO happy with it. I did 4 peels in total. Being every four weeks & my skin is literally FLAWLESS now. This was really the only thing that I saw improve my skin from YEARS (like 12 years) of trying to get rid of my acne scars/dark spots/ hyper-pigmentation and trying tons of different products. I encourage everyone who’s been trying to make their skin flawless to really really try this!!! VI Peel is great! I definitely recommend to all my brown and dark skin ppl. It’s so hard to find products that help poc (Latinos/African American/Indian for example) because I felt like the beauty industry really only focuses on improving skin for lighter skin tones which definitely discouraged me because I felt like I would never ever have flawless skin but trust me this works and is worth the investment!

Don't forget to start a skincare regimen too! Cause you still have to take care of your skin after the peeling has ended, And use sunscreen don't think because your skin is darker the Sun cant damage it. I've lived a long time with my mom telling me that the melanin in our skin protects us so we doing even need to use sunscreen. Which is not true at all.

Thanks for this video! I'm scheduled to get a chemical peel the day after Christmas! I'm excited. I got a sensi peel a few months before but it was a light peel so even though my face did peel it didn't penetrate the skin deep enough to remove the more stubborn hyperpigmentation.

Great video! I got some questions!! I really want to try this but I’m scared ! While you were peeling was your skin quite sensitive ? Or hurt? This may be a silly question but during this entire process im guessing you not allowed to wear make up? obviously no other products but are general facial wipes also not allowed? Also do they give any creams to use while peeling to hide the peeling skin? Also how many times did you go back before it was completely gone? Aaaand one last question. Do you have to wait for it to naturally fall off or could you like remove some of the peels,

Don't do it. I work with a guy that did this and his skin looks horrible. His skin is dry and looks horrible. Dark marks can be removed without doing anything this drastic.

it's not that bad. i just had a chemical peel done about 3 hours ago. The only thing is that the peel gives a bit of an itchy prickly sensation for the first few minutes its on there. afterwards some spots will itch a bit, but it goes away after an hour or so. i went w/ the 20% peel

Trust me I feel your pain!m 😩 I’ve had acne since I was about 12, and in now 26! I thought it would go away, but I’ve learned that it’s all about managing it and being consistent with your regimen once you have cleared your acne. Between chemical peels, topical prescriptions from your dermatologist, and staying away from things that personally induce your acne (could be eating dairy products, stress, etc) I promise you’ll be able to have clear skin again! And then it’s all about maintaining it.

I didn’t wear makeup at all. Luckily I was able to work from home on the days that I was actually peeling - so I didn’t have to worry about trying to hide my skin. You definitely don’t want to peel or pick at it. So I’d recommend getting one when you know you don’t have to leave the house.

VI Peels are great, but if you have pigmentation, try The Perfect Derma Peel!!! Same as the VI peel but has added glutathione which is a powerful antioxidant and pigmentation lightener.

cause lactic and glycolic peels work depending on the strength...anything 30% it doesn't really do deep peeling..

My esthetician recommended I get a peel. My thing is Work. Do you have to moisture all day or what do you do to keep your face from looking like it’s peeling if that makes sense. I know you’re going to peel but is it something you can put on your face so the peeling don’t look so bad so for when you’re at work it’s not super noticeable?

It cost me $600 for 3. Which is pretty steep, I know! But that's because of the specific peel that I got - the VI Peel - which is supposed to be one of the strongest peels out there. But I've gotten glycolic, peels, Vitalize peels, etc. that ran me $100, and they honestly work really well too!

Angie Moore not true darker skintones respond wonderfully to chemical peels and you are able to use stronger ones compared to lighter more sensitive skintones

I'm a dark skin Black American and I suffer from hyperpigmentation as well. I got my first VI Peel in October and it drastically improved my hyperpigmentation, I plan on doing it again during MLK long weekend. I recommend it to all my fellow chocolate sisters.

I'm black ( I'm like an olive toned brown ) and I got a vi peel 5 days ago .i had super bad hyperpigmentation like to the point it was black marks and discoloration.and acne marks.just very dry skin too .I am soooo happy with the results.i highly recommend you do it.i stayed inside the entire 5 days to not risk anything and followed each step correctly.do it !

If it is anything like retin A peels or derma rolling, maybe 7-10 days. Then you have fantastic skin like Naakie.

You may want to think about that. Vacations are so far apart. You may want to do it around New Year's. If you are not going out on the day, then you will be able to do it a couple of days before New Years. The peeling days are not pretty. So fewer of your co-workers will be around during the holidays. Just a suggestion.

Yep! I stopped peeling after about 10 days. My face was done peeling completely around day 8. And my neck continued to peel into day 10 (didn't film that part cause it was kinda boring haha)

So always get mine done on a Wednesday. That way I can go to work on Wednesday and Thursday. Then when the peeling starts (on Friday) I just work from home. If you can't work from home, no worries, the peeling isn't THAT intense, so you won't get too many weird stares. Then I just stay home on Saturday and Sunday (when the peeling is intense). And I'm ready to go back to work on Monday when the peeling on my face is 90% done!
