15 months keto, 31 kg lighter, blood tests back to normal, brain fog gone, and I don't snore any more. Yay! Best thing is that as long as I have no fruit I don't get any carb cravings at all.

Also the aldehyde portion of the fructose molecule (and the acetaldehyde from ethanol metabolism) bind to the active site of AMP Kinase to deactivate it. 8:10

Excellent presentation! My dear Father had dementia and he most certainly started to eat an insane amount of sweet foods and sugar late in his illness. Watching him die of this condition was devastating and I went Keto 7 months ago and never looked back. It was a tough transition but I don't feel deprived and I enjoy a ketogenic lifestyle now. My desserts have consisted of plain full-fat yogurt, some berries and homemade granola with allulose or monkfruit sweetener.

Siret avoyr your father, and God for you on your due change . Oats are highly sugary, wheat and oats have amalopectin , a sugar that raises your blood sugar higher and faster than sucrose.. check out wheatbelly by dr davis. U could have occasionally instead of daily .. I've gone mainly carnivore myself now most days except had a few treats over Christmas (sherry trifle !!), hyst trying to figure out should I consume any fibre for the sake of my microbiome. I reckon northern hemisphere hunters gatherers mainly got it from fermented grass from digestive tracts of ruminent animals if they consumed any at all.

@@gammypage thanks! He was a great guy! The irony is both my parents were physicians and we know so little about these kinds of diseases still. And yeah, no more grains for us I guess lol. I did notice that oats spike my blood sugar like nothing else! It’s WILD.

👍 Millions of years nature provided our diet. Of course that doesn’t mean it was always perfect, climate changes and so on. Now we adapt to the ‘special deals’ of the supermarket which is typically the stuff that has the lowest production cost. Nobody calculates in, that the health care system is hurt or destroyed by this practice when *you* would need it in the future. 🙏☺️

Is the salt intake bad even on a low carb or carnivore diet?
@MarilynRoper-ob1nj
@MarilynRoper-ob1nj 9 месяцев назад
We need salt- especially if we are low carb. High circulating insulin causes us to hang onto salt. Once we go low carb, we start dumping it. Hence “KetoFlu”. So add salt to your diet.

We eat for pleasure
@hugoapresname
@hugoapresname 8 месяцев назад
I love how you named that. We should really redefine what real pleasure is. Is it a meal where you feel fueled to another day of physical work on your farm, or whatever you want to do? Or is it pleasure that makes you crave another pleasure which again makes you crave another one? But only after experiencing the first one, beginning of 2023 I can now consciously decide that I like that better 🙏😘🙏

I have enjoyed following Dr. J's research and learned a lot about fructose & health, but the frequency of commercials coming on with this specific vid is ridiculous; the first was at 2'30" & the second at 5'. After that, I stopped watching. Other videos on YT sharing Dr. J's research do not have such an obscene frequency of interruption.
