well in some sense it does . That's why you have deals and packages so it depends on your needs . same thing in services Netflix gives you 3 deals depending on your need for how many user. Apple gives you different packages on their services. So it always depends on what client needs and you offering and directing them to the right option. you can say '' so I recommend to your our budget deal which will cost x and satisfy your needs and within your budget '' that way you handle the objection in their mind before they even think it

Me: How long have you been selling? Dont you know already what you can sell it for? Tell you what have someone get back with me that does know and has the authority to make a decision. Dont worry about what i can afford. If we can make a deal i will tell you. If i have to say let me think about it i probably means i really dont trust you and you are not worth the cost you want. We are not friends. My job is not to spend my money. Your job is to get me to spend it. Take all power back as a buyer. I dont let you dictate terms.don't waste my time. I won't waste yours. I am not an easy buyer. But if you make a sale. You have a customer for life. We do business with those we trust.

No ones gonna give you an exact price at the very beginning that’s just stupid they’ll just go get their manager and they’ll probably take you through the process qualifying process to make sure you get what you need even further. It’s just common sense to help people. Value exceeding cost =Cost Justified. No value= No worth. Make sense?

How is your business serving in the pandemic? I attempted to shop online for used cars in my area before Covid-19 outbreak. It was a disappointment. None of them wanted to disclose price online or on the phone. They wanted me to come in person, so they can play their sales tricks on me. I was frustrated. Now that Covid-19 is keeping people at home, I hope they change their tactics to online sales.

I started doing summer sales when I was 23 and it changed my life. A lot of life lessons happened on the doors. What I learned from the question of, "How much is it?" isn't so much about the direct response, it's more about how you have built value in the product. If you answer a question right away with the cost of the product, before explaining the worth, you have just shot yourself in the foot. One thing I love to do is build value in the product, understand the customers needs, and then ask them, "Now how much do you think (this product) would be per month?" By doing that you are able to find out from the customers mouth if you built enough value before dropping price. If they over value it, you've done your job, if it's below, you have more work to do in building value in the product.

In my industry most clients want a “price list” or “Are you cheaper than your competitors?”, I tell them I don’t create price lists. I normally service them so well that they don’t pay attention to pricing anymore. Most of my existing clients just pay their bill we rarely discuss pricing because I try to show them that my service and relationship is priceless.

If I'm asking for price, it's because I've already done the research on the products and services and the price hasn't been made publicly available. Making me work to find out what something costs is a turnoff. The internet allows us to be more informed shoppers, so it's likely sales people won't need to explain the products or services to justify the price. I'd advise qualifying the buyers' knowledge of the product or service so that you don't insult their intelligence making them sit through a sales pitch before honoring their request for the price.

It Depends on what industry or field we're talking about. Each one is unique and what Dan said does not comply to all of them. You won't use those replies on a retail as all price are listed, however I do believe this method works great on consulting and marketing.

Robin Burr if there’s no customisation, there shouldn’t be a price difference. You should price based on their needs and every single requirement, and give justification for why you charge $xx for this part and that part

This is a real powerful one sir. In my web design/development business, I have noticed that when I let out the price to early, the client gains a lot more power and at times the deal doesn't get closed or closes at the client's own time and will. What some people are confusing here is price for a product VS service. For a product (which probably has a fixed price), you cannot say "it depends", but you can redirect the conversation and educate them further before blowing out the price. As far as services based businesses without a fixed price are concerned your formula is perfect.

This depends on lots of things, what you’re selling and where you’re selling it makes a difference. Some products & services require an immediate abrupt answer, dragging the conversation on like this could only create problems later on like debt collection issues and customer complaints.

Great stuff. I don't like to give a range but prefer to say "not to exceed, based on what you seem to be looking for". If you say $5,000 to $10,000 I find they hear $5,000.

Great lecture Sifu. As i was listening to you speak, I started thinking, what if when the customer just asks you things like the price before you ever got your pitch out, it was a test. In life we are always being tested by things. What is this is also a test from the customer to see 1. how you react, 2. can reply efficiently when put in a spot, 3. do you sink or swim with your reply. When listening to your reply's it was perfect. But i think that perhaps people should practice this on their own or with someone else first to see how they react. Also, video themselves to see how they speak, look and hold themselves. We do a lot of things that speak confidence or bullshit and a smart customers knows these things. I can see from the years of trial by fire you def have your Mojo when speaking and answering questions even when on the fly. But i think for many people they might hesitate and think which will show the client wait...Can this person handle it or not. Its like James Bond, he's the man who can handle it all, confident, intelligent, works great under pressure, knows how to handle his emotions not to let out anything he shouldn't. But that was tempered through years of forging under pressure and i'm sure some failures too when coming up in the ranks. Great lecture Sifu. Thank you

Hey Dan. I hope you are good! One more lesson I learnt from you what to say to your clients or customers when they ask us "how much?" It depends! Because, when we know what exactly they need we'll manage to explain them better then they will understand us better in return. After that, their budget may go up due to such delighting conversion and further may end up paying us more though may not be what we expected but at the same time we get something in returns instead of rejection.

If I had a genie that could erase one problem, I'd choose to kill off my six-figure student loan. In fact, it's this massive loan that started my interest in increasing my income in the first place. And I do have a question for you, Dan. Have any of your students or clients ever been Hollywood screenwriters or showrunners? I ask because I'm currently in LA trying to "land the dream" by making my own show, and I'm really interested in what you have to teach as far as high-ticket closing because I think there could be cross-over in knowing how to close a sale and knowing how to close a show pitch to a prospective network.

if i ask how much something is and dont get a straight answer i just leave. but that is me, you are interested in selling, i might buy it, but if you beat around the bush you lose my trust and attention, here often when dealing with houses sales directly people go ''put a price on it'' ''100k or whatever'' them deal or no deal, also with services and sales in general the clients get insecure if the salesman don't know their own product and at the very least its price, basically if they have somewherelse they can get it, they will, transparency in deals builds trust, and culturally here people are very suspicious of deals without clear stated values and details, also sales is mostly a talent, some people are born salesmen (or women), they can sell you a box with a dead bat inside. but it is not a 'strategy,' its their innate quality at comunicating, conecting and persuading, hold up the price like that will make a lot of people pissed off, i see people saying stuff like ''it has no price, its free?'' '' is how much i want to pay?'', holding up information to build up rapport is.. meh.. anyone can see it

No they know ... But what I see from this guy is that his tactics are to get you to talk to someone who is interested in the product in the first place and convince them that what you're selling will make their lives a bit better.. Not to get someone to buy something out of guilt.. That happens.

At the end of the call, when they ask the price, I always recap all of the benefits they stated they want to receive, the impact of achieving these things to their image and credibility and then softly mention the dollar amount investment required all the while focusing on the emotional benefits. VALUE vs. investment required = sale.

got to say Mr. Lok: I respect what I see. Do not personally know you, do not ever 100% trust my own impressions, but you obviously have valuable skills and you are willing to teach for free. Subscription on YT is free, but knowledge is expensive. Applied knowledge leading to success is FAR more valuable and therefore expensive, and even with a 6 min video, you have shared invaluable knowledge. One simple thing I always tell my customers and this usually works 70% of the time. Once I give them the price and they're not happy with it I say this " listen, you need to be willing to do what it takes for me to solve the need that you have...the need you contacted me to take care of in the first place, and I can do that now!" This also puts it back on them. And I would guess it gives some people a certain feeling of guilt? But it seems to work more times than not when I can see that they're not willing to pay the amount. I say that simple comment, and then they are. I've also always been taught to more or less tell the customer what they're going to do rather than ask them. That also seems to work quite well.

I usually tell my clients when they ask about our price..i clearly state we have customized pricing plans which would qualify your business needs based on your requirements...flexible...realistic and do able. I send the agreement they sign it and send it back. I don't lock them on a fixed pricing i make sure i close on the spot by giving them multiple pricing plans. @ Dan send me your email address lets set up a meeting btw i am a CEO of my business we should collaborate. It's not only about when they're asking but also who is asking. Is it your competitors? Because in that case that's not your prospective buyers. This is very important to know who is the one asking.

Hi Dan, we are curtains shops. Customer also call and ask what is the cheapest curtain you have. Before i try to find out more. Sometime they will say look i just want the cheapest curtains coz my home is for rental. So i just want the cheapest curtains. Once i have given them the price. Straight away they will want to put down the phone for further discussion. i try to pull back the conversation and they say, i will need to ask for a few more curtains shop before i decide. For the above sale call, is there any best way to convince the clients that they do not need to made any call to compare as we are the cheapest & lowest price. But in fact we might not be the lowest price or cheapest price if the clients made a few more call and ask to compare the price.
