J T How is it irrelevant? He’s literally not pursuing anyone and just driving. Might as well just drive the speed limit like everyone else if that’s what he has to enforce.
Use common sense and you'll see that troopers, county, and city police have caught thousands of criminals thanks to running speed radar. Tickets are a reminder that there is a huge difference between 70 and 80 MPH when it comes to avoiding accidents or objects in the road. But your mind is shut and you're bound to have a closed mind.
Thanks for keeping our roads safe of these evil doers who like to challenge the all holy law! You sir deserve a medal for stopping that cold hearted criminal. With this mindset we should also point to the cop going WELL over 70 in the left lane, but hey their cars don’t hurt when they hit you.
The speedometer said 43 when the camera was panned over at the trooper so no he wasn’t going “well over 70”. I’ve never seen anyone so biased that they feel the need to protest the fact that a trooper is doing his job by catching speeders. News flash dumbass many people have died due to themselves or others speeding.
meanwhile he was doing 89 at the start of the video, in a 70. passing everyone for no reason, no emergency lights, no nothing. just driving 90 like the rest of us, but he gets immunity
I got pulled over the other day, i live in Florida, Orlando. I was doing 85 in a 70, after speaking respectfully to him, he led me go, 11 over for a ticket? dang..
DATKAN What agency did you get stopped by out of curiosity??? I live in Florida too and I’m wondering if it was FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) that stopped you, or just a sheriff’s office or police department. FHP Troopers are super strict and write tickets 99.9% they stop people. They’re not known for cutting people breaks lol
@@gaberillman6778 I got let go for having expired registration and speeding. I have a clean record and I explained the situation. I only got one ticket and it was for not wearing a seatbelt which I contested in court and only had to pay court fee which wasn’t as bad as a ticket
Legally anything over 80 is considered extremely reckless driving. That's 11 over its speeding no matter what. Stop being so butthurt you infantile naff
“80 is considered extremely reckless”. -Zaltic Autobahn drivers in Germany are probably laughing at us right now. I don’t blame them, people are too pussy here to speed up.
@@Zaltic Please, last week I was driving I-70 from Columbus to Dayton and the right lane alone was doing 75-80 mph easily. You're more likely to get hit by OHP if you are travelling lane 3.
Writes a ticket for only 11 miles over. WOW. Good thing I don't live in Ohio. The NYS troopers don't even bother to catch them doing that type of speed. The only way you're gonna get pulled over for speeding is if you do over 15mph over the speed limit (ex: 70 in a 55).
"Only 11 over." You do understand that they can stop for for 1 over. 11 over and the closer it is to 100 Is more dangerous. You are just so dumb I cant imagine how you will maintain a career
Our freeways were designed to travel at speeds much higher than 70mph. Utah for example has 80mph limits across the desert. But within urban areas a lower limit should be enforced.
Speeds were design to be safe for semi trucks. Old laws need changed. Then again we hand drivers license to people that stop at a stop sign the correct way
Old laws do need to be changed, I ain’t a cop but on my way home I was going 78 in a 75 and a semi zipped passed me going at least 85mph. I had wished there was a cop to pull him over bc he almost caused me to go off the roads… Semi’s should NOT being goin that fast
It's interesting because in Indiana you see almost no troopers in the median running radar, but when I visit family in Ohio I will see up to 5 troopers.
Yeah, no more " quotas" like it used to be......this is the modern day technology........if they don't make that much in a month ; they'll get it from uncle sam....
Zaltic it’s a little ridiculous though, 11 miles over?! In the UK you’d be getting to at least 20 over on the motorway before getting stopped. You’re the one who is “clearly in high school” as you’re responding to everyone’s comments due to you having nothing else to do. Grow up and learn how to drive a real car instead of playing in car video games
@@James890ish I've been driving for 7 years... you kids don't understand how law enforcement works. Let me give you an example since your naive brains cant understand factual logic. You have to cut open a patient to perform a heart surgery etc. Likewise, you must speed to catch a speeder. Police officers are trained in defensive driving and they have lights and sirens for a reason. I shouldnt have to dumb it down this low for you to understand. Once you have driven as long as I have or longer you may begin to understand... speed kills, police are there to enforce the speed so people dont get *killed*
Back in the 90's (during the 55 MPH speed limit), my vehicle was equipped with a 57 MPH governor which would shut off my fuel pump if and when I reached that speed. With a fully loaded trailer (Phillips light bulbs from Peabody, MA) I was grossing a mere 30,00 lbs. at best, when I was allegedly clocked by OHP at 63 MPH. Without signaling me to pull over, a trooper chased me for several miles: staying so close behind me that I could not see him in my mirrors. Another trucker told me on the radio that I had "a Smokie on my back door and he was advertising". I looked in my mirrors and saw nothing until I wiggled my trailer and saw him. I pulled over and stopped and he did likewise. He walked up the side of my truck and I could see his lips moving; he was a mad as hell. The first thing out of his mouth was, "What the hell is the matter with you? Don't you know you're supposed to stop for a police car with it's flashing lights on?" I tried to explain to him that he was so close behind me that I couldn't see him and his response was, "Wash your damned mirrors." Well, my mirrors were clean but the roadway was wet from overnight snow and the wheels were creating a mist which made it even more difficult to see a tailgater. I then asked him why he was chasing me and he replied that I was speeding. I had seen him up between the girders under the last underpass as I left Columbus (I even waved to him) as I glanced down at my speedometer which read 55 MPH. When I told him that, he merely said, "I gotcha…" I showed him the manufacture's spec sheet that clearly stated that I had a 57 MPH governor and he responded, "Ya must've been going down hill". In response I stated that Ohio doesn't have a hill big enough to make a 35,000 lb.TT with a 57 MPH governor go that fast, BUT... that he must be using "MPH Radar". "What do you know about radar?" he replied. I explained that #1.I was a retired Trooper myself and I worked on RADAR in my capacity as a Communications specialist,. #2. MPH had given us RADAR set for free and we gave them back due to their poor discriminators. #3. Florida HP had be outed by ABC News for clocking trees at 43 MPH, again; poor discriminators. When we walked back to the patrol car, sure enough; there were the letters "MPH" on the feed-horn. When I looked inside to see the 63 on the screen I observed that the RADAR was not even plugged in. When I inquired as to how the RADAR worked without being plugged into the power socket he grinned and asked if I had ever run RADAR. When I answered him in the affirmative, he laughed and said, "Well then, you know you don't have to have the RADAR turned on to know how fast a truck is going..." Over the following 8 years, I received seven more 63 MPH speeding tickets, most in Franklin County, all on I-70. * miles over the limit? Enough to issue a citation but not enough to go on my Pa. MVR... With no "Immediate Hearings" available, and the fine was so cheap, it was merely a "Cost of Doing Business."
In 10 years I received 9 of those citations; all in different tractors;. all on I-70 but different counties' all with 57 MPH governors, and every one of them for driving 63 MPH. Not worth fighting because an "8 MPH Over" wouldn't go on your record in your home state at the time. And I refused to give them my Social Security Number so they couldn't track it. Computer systems have changed since then; Boy, I'm glad I retired again. Speeding tickets in Ohio is strictly a money game.; they have little to no real regard for traffic safety.
You do understand that they are the police and have half a year of driving training and they have lights and sirens... stop being so butthurt learn to live with the laws we have or move out
Zaltic Was be using the sirens? If not then his ass can go the speed limit like the rest of us. He should print himself out a ticket as well, a badge and gun doesn’t give you a right to break the law. At most he should have done was 81 in a 70 to catch him. If he runs, flick on the sirens and go 130 in a 70 for all I care.
Joseph Kay There’s a thing called Code 2, which is the use of lights only, and/or sirens at intersections (if responding) lights entitles them to speed up to the vehicle.
@@josephkay4219 Wow, not trying to be mean but are you really that dumb? speeder is doing 81 in a 70. So you tell the cop he can only do 81 in a 70 to catch him? so car A is going 81 MPH, car B must move from a stopped position to "catch" car A but can only go 81. Boy, you failed math class.
Funnier still would have been if his car got struck by another that’s going 82mph, while he ‘dutifully’ walked that measly citation to citizen in that hazardous environment.
nigga its omly 11 over and the road is suitable for high speeds u know what just for fucking saying that u should be one of the ezceptions and get pulled over even going 60 in a 55 on wide extremely safe freeway designed for speeds for 100mph that should be fair right
anyone noticed that the trooper himself is driving around 85-90 mph between 0:15 and 0:25? I mean it's not like he's trying to catch up with a speeding driver, he's just cruising down the highway lol... oh well!
Exactly but then again it’s Ohio. I have a friend who got a verbal warning for going 73 in a 70. Might not seem bad but it’s literally 3 mph, it could’ve been a speedometer misreading ahahah
I honestly wished we had an autobahn type freeway system here. Or at least express lanes for people who like to drive faster, kinda like those on 35E in the DFW Metro. If the Toll around Austin can be set to 85 and it be safe, then why can't other freeways have a fast lane?
Phillip Wooden -I don’t see that happening in even 20 years Phillip. We( ohioians) had 2 stage speed limits 55 mph for semi trucks and 65 cars then they made everyone 65 and all the states around us had 70 mph finally in the last 5 years everyone went 70 mph and the state highway patrol I heard was upset about it. At first they were so upset if you were at 73 mph(in a 70) automatically ticket. I had a friend who got a 73 in a 70 it was the week they raised the speed limit. I agree it was childish. Usually if I’m on I 75 or I 70(which I ran this section of I 70 when I went to college) I set my cruise at 72-73 and I would have cars walk past me. Let me say this in the 5 years since they have raised the speed limit(to 70 mph) the state highway patrol chilled out on people going approximately 75. Because I went past one at 74-75 and he did not care
Until we enforce lane discipline like what is done on the autobahn, we'll never have those kinds of speeds. It only works in Germany because by law, you MUST stay in the right lane except to overtake, and it is illegal to undertake on the right.
81 in a 70? C'mon man, half the people on the highway go 10 over. You gotta focus on the real idiots who zip past you at 100 while changing lanes every 5 seconds
Charlotte and Atlanta is really bad for that. The beat up Nissan Altimas with a bumper hanging off and the straight piped Chargers with 0% tint all fly by you going 90 in a 70, but never get pulled over. Around here they only pull over truck drivers because they're easy targets for revenue generating. America's police system is corrupt to the core.
This cop is a JERK!!! He pulled me over for speeding (I admit I was) came out of his car yelling, screaming and cussing at me. Asked me to get out of my car, searched me and read me my rights (this whole time I’m thinking for speeding?!?) then went on to ask me why he smells marijuana in my car. I don’t smoke marijuana! I had a black and mild In the car, told him this and offered to let him search my car. He refused (of course he did 😒). Verbally told me the speed I was going and then lied about the speed on the ticket so He could ticket me for reckless ops and then preceded to tell me he could take me to jail right now but wouldn’t. I was being nice and corporative. “Yes sir and no sir”. He definitely is on a power trip.
Why don't they sit on the back roads where families actually live. no need to post a damn trooper at every damn exit on the interstate! !! I mean every state too not just ohio. I can call the shp. ask the to sit on my road and they tell me they can't just come and sit . I told them by god they can sit at every damn exit on i40. what's the damn difference! !!
The state d.o.t. targets vehicles with hazardous materials placards. They love to issue violations to them; just another way to screw the truck driver.
I drove a truck for 32 years and Ohio was the state I hated most to drive in. Their State Troopers are the worst of any state in the United States. The could take lessons from Oklahoma and New Mexico on how to be courteous to drivers.
Yeah, unfortunately I do live in Ohio. The police here only hunt for tickets and arrests, anything to make money for the department. Lol I can honestly say, there hasn't been a time where I was HELPED by the police here...
It was a New Yorker. Of course he was going 81 in a 70. Here in NY you wouldn't get pulled over for 81 in a 70. The cop would instead be like "Why so slow, bro?" 🤣
Actually it's for the officers safety since he's the one outside the vehicle, officers are taught to place the car in traffic if there's no choice of them going to the passenger side window.
Someone is going 81 on a 70, well holy shit, better go 95 to catch up and stop this criminal. I get pulling people over for going 90, 95 or 100, but 81, seriously. This just gives cops a bad name.
Joshua's Recordings I agree with you on the fact that 11 over on a freeway seems a little ridiculous for pulling someone over, but I just wanted to point out that cops have lights and sirens to tell people to move the hell over and get the hell out of the way. Regular cars don’t have that, which is why the officer can go 95 mph to catch up to the person. Not to mention, if the cops aren’t going to speed up to the person, how are they supposed to catch them?
It depends on the flow of traffic.. If a huge bunch of cars are all doing 80 safely in good weather, spaced out good, they usually let you all just go.. If you are alone and doing 5-6 mph over the speed limit, you usually dont have to worry..
I got pulled over in Oklahoma and got a ticket for 1-5 over the speed limit and the trooper couldn’t even tell me how fast I was going. Now that’s on my DOT and against my CDL
Than he couldn't give you a ticket. Cause all 50 states require you to have a fixed radar/laser indicating the actual speed a person is going. He just can't say I don't know how fast your going. How I know I argued with one here in Virginia. He tried to pull the same shenanigans only difference I was doing 5 over. He told me on his device I was doing 12 over. I told him that it was incorrect than I showed him on video how fast I really was going. He couldn't issue me a ticket because his radar was off. Same applies if the officer doesn't know the speed you were going yet though he pulls you over. Tell him I'm not signing a ticket with an unknown speeding violation! Radar laser how ever. Also make sure every state trooper you encounter is dressed in full uniform. If not no ticket can be issued either!
I drive I-44 in MO, and I've passed plenty of state troopers going 70-75 in a 60, or 80 when it turns to 70 and they don't really care. It's only when you hit above that 15 over which is completely reasonable.
Here in columbus, you have to do like i do and be both hands on the wheel at 10 and 2 seatbelt looking forward and going 1 to 3 mph under the speedlimit literally all signals all the time.
That's definitely sketchy on the side of criminal interdiction. LE is trained to look for that exact behavior. Expect to have a lot of questions asked and/or a vehicle search if you're ever stopped.
LMAO, I had 2 troopers come up behind me, the lead trooper had her passenger side tires riding right on the painted line, I had to move farther right just to keep from getting hit. You want to run that by us again?
Marty Marsh that sounds like a lie just so you can hate one cops. Even if it were true, that's one instance. Every day I drive I almost get hit by some bitch on her phone
For many years Since 06, I’ve ran through ohio speeding just like every one else but I use protection. Some while back I was rolling in my semi truck running 70mph. Way back then speed limits for semi trucks was very strict more like 55mph. I had an appointment to make in ohio, and soon as i cane around a curve traveling 70 in 55. Ohio state trooper was waiting on me. My bel radar detector that I had back then sounds off laser, I immediately adjusted my speed down right in front of him. Remember in ohio laser jammers are not illegal to use period. No laws vs light. But anyway I slowed down passed em up he never moves after me. This happened to me in 2006 somewhere. That is why I luv ROCKY MOUNTAIN MOUNTAIN RADAR still today. 👍🏽👍🏽 Can you see now why I can drive around the country and not f- up my driving record worrying about Getting senseless tickets. The laser heads set right down below where officers are trained to target. 1. Headlights and signal lights. 2. Bumper if flat or Chrome Is how police laser works. Police laser works by anything that reflects light but if the jammer set up regardless if they shoot it will not penetrate your speeds.
Tbh I wanna be a trooper in South Carolina and our troopers don’t give the first damn about 81 in a 70..... I mean really? 11 over? Not worth anyone’s time. At least get one going 15 or more over minimum. 🤦🏻♂️
I dont F around when driving through Ohio. Worse than the turnpike for speed traps is highway 33. Saw no less than 8 people pulled between Athens and the WV line. I guess they know how crappy of a drive that is to travelers who want to get out of the state.
I live in Ohio and my girlfriend lives in Indiana. Now Ohio tougher on monitoring roads however probably 50 percent(guessing) of Indiana cop cars has the police lights inside the car(no roof top lights) so by the time you see them it’s too late. Plus in Indiana you have to be really hauling the hay to get picked up. I went past an officer(accidentally) 45-46 in a 35 ( I thought I was outskirts of a town and I started to speed up) he did not even turn around. I thought I was so busted. In Ohio I promise you I would of got a ticket
And 20 miles above the lower posted speed limits. The worst part is that they ban radar detectors, like DC. Virginia is not for lovers, it’s a place of tyranny. I don’t speed, but I don’t drive the speed limit either.
So, I'm seeing a lot of these crash fatality police chase accidents. I'd love to hear from you... my son was killed in Ohio last week. The Ohio police were chasing a drugged kid who stole a truck in the middle of the day going 100 MPH in a very populated area in Dayton. My son was pulling out of a driveway and never saw it. Why does it seem like the police are so last to be at fault? My father is a retired detective. All my life the police were my friends. But they seem so far away from that now. I'm so sad so angry and so lost.
ILMatt actually the fastest speed limit in the US is 85 MPH in rural Texas and some states out west have no speed limit after a certain time. I live in Florida where it gets crazy and I can tell you all vehicles governed at a same speed is actually a hazard as it causes people to bunch together and people attempting to get around each other but they can't cause of a half mile hour difference. That said a simple obd2 programmer could change the speed governor and if they made it harder people will still find ways around it.
The police are 100 % responsible for this terrible tragedy, in Calif. and all west coast if the pursuit is a danger to all on the freeway they give up the chase so that they do not cause the death of innocent drivers like this killer so called cop did. We have had and have four police officers in the family.
ILMatt Sometimes when my wife is driving us on the highway she comes upon a slower driver and complains,i tell her remember our kids also drive outhere and i would rather a slower driver than a speeding driver. Sorry for your loss, stay strong.
I wonder how fast you were going to catch him, I bet it was well over 81mph.. Did you ALSO issue yourself with a citation for putting other road users in danger ? Thought NOT..
Police laser is very quick and very narrow like a car steering wheel about 300ft away from officer shooting that gun. Police radar is very wide funnily burst of signals about 6 traffic lanes across. Question most people always would like to know What is police laser (aka police lidar) ? LIDAR is an acronym for Light Detection And Ranging. A police laser gun emits a highly focused beam of invisible light in the near infrared region of light that is centered at a wavelength of 904nm And is only about 22 inches in diameter at a 1000 feet away from them shooting laser at you. At 1000 feet (300m). Police laser can be operated from far distances, much farther than police radar, making it extremely difficult for the driver to know that they are being targeted. Unlike police radar, laser can be operated at such great distances, officers really don’t even have to hide like police radar operators, because it’s extremely hard to spot them from those extreme targeting distances.
What makes radar detectors useless is that it doesn’t offer enough protection against police speed detections. Detectors are useless on laser speed traps and instant on radar , which allows you no chance of slowing down. Let’s say your traveling down a two lane road your radar detector is silent and no cops in sight but all of sudden a police officer comes toward you rolling with radar unit off up until he gets closer towards you. You sitting here driving 10mph over the speed limits with your $600 or any radar detector. He sees you within sight and suddenly turns his radar on ya then turns it off. The minute your radar detector sounds off, Guess what he or she already has your speeds while you try slamming the brakes. That is why I don’t use a radar detector by itself regardless of price and just because it has a few bells and whistles. Radar detectors are useless on closer range radar traps or laser speed traps as well. Which is why most people travel in packs for safety I don’t . I feel much safer traveling down the highways at night or day alone. Just because you have some $600 radar detector, tell me what good is any radar detector if the any officer police can Still clock me moving a distance away? Without a shield your radar detector or just using nothing makes you an easy fish 🐠 to catch.
11 over, your getting a ticket. I won’t cut anyone any slack if your more than 10 over. My threshold would be 7-9 mph, I’ll let you off with a warning, and 10+ over your getting a ticket. Speed kills. Slow down.
In Indiana, if you go 3 miles over the speed limit, you will be ticketed and charged with a crime. The minimum fine for some jurisdictions is $400 plus processing fees($575). It's no joke! If you plan to speed, don't do it in Indiana. If you go more than 20 miles over the posted speed, you will be charged with a class D felony reckless driving charge($2500 plus court and jail fees).
He’s probably thinking, “Ooh someone’s being safe and going with the flow of traffic. He is going 11 over though and my corrupted state needs the revenue so let’s go give him a ticket”.
@@2KCamaroZ28SS Yes, of course lmao. The funds are mostly given to the state trusts and county courts. But this is one of the many sick ways they raise revenue for them.
here i wished the speed limit was raised for ALL States 85; 75 for trucks with 3 or more axle, on Interstates outskirts of large and small cities: 75 downtown with multiple lanes: 70; 60 for trucks with 3 or more axle
God forbid someone does 81 in a 70. But hey at least you made the state money to pay off that nice car you get to beat the fuck out of for 90k miles before getting a brand new one.
