This thing must feel like a freight train off the corners! 1000 kilos and 350 horsepower is such a perfect number. I’ve only driver a 964 on a canyon road and not truly in anger (it wasn’t mine), but it was so connected, even compared to my 981 Spyder. Great lap brother!

Woooo Dry Lap!! God the dry really let this beauty show what she's capable of when put in such a good set of hands (Also the Signature Misha Silence fell over that car, always an amazing lap when everyone is just silent in awe and Misha is giving it the beans)

Once u´ve driven an old car, u understand the fuzz about em. Modern cars give u lap records, 60-70s cars teach u how to drive (and wrench).

By halfway, the downshifts were so nice. Not the easiest controls to learn it seems, but Misha starts to be one with the machine. Very cool! I like this car a lot.

Cheers Misha - I love your passion for cars old and new, basic or specc'd up to the eyeballs. I really enjoy watching the heel and toe action on a manual; I used to love doing it on old my old fiesta, but the newer ones are slower revving and a bit more dimwitted. Anyway, you've lit a fire in me to be more passionate about driving, honing skills, and moreso, maybe developing a career where I can afford to do things like this!

Green Cayman was indeed very eager, but ran out of horsepower (and maybe talent) soon after. But good to see he was a good sport at the end. Regarding my yesterday's (wet lap) comment on the suspension / handling: obviously it worked better this time. As I said, might just mostly be the Cup 2s - cold/hard vs. warm/soft rubber makes a big difference. The difference in the Caroussel was noticeable - looked and sounded less painful this time. Still, the suspension seems on the stiff / bumpy side. This is a Bilstein PSS10 - it should handle, as well as be compliant. Maybe just settings, or maybe it is too scewed down / compressed. Just trying to help - maybe the owner isn't even aware of any of this and has just set it to min. ride height and max. stiffness, because he, like many, believes that that automatically handles well.

I had the opportunity to buy a 964 about 20 years ago. As a young man only just then making enough money to finally be somewhat comfortable and independent, I passed up on it as I couldn't justify the cost of ownership vs what I needed in a car at the time. From time to time I'm reminded at how dumb that was and how I should lived a little more and bought the car and learned to live with (and how to work on) it. This video is another reminder! I've always had a soft spot for "older" Porches, with the classic timeless design, magical engine and exhaust symphony and very direct connection between driver and car. To me, there is something uniquely special about the 964 that evokes these romanticized emotions of what could have been. Considering what 964s are going for nowadays, I'll just have to continue to be content living vicariously through these videos and watching Misha absolutely rip around my bucket list destination track in my bucket list car.

Everything is in the redline with that tachometer! Edit: and that green Porsche has nothing but straight line acceleration. Unsafe move a few seconds after a yellow ends.
