In this video, the robot is running from point to point with acceleration and deceleration.
Detailed video about the robotic arm and software will be posted hopefully this or next month.
The goal of CM6 is to be a go-to robotic arm framework for people interested in robotics. CM6 uses 6 gimbal BLDC motors paired with small gear ratio gearboxes ( from 1:5 to 1:9), by doing that it is passively compliant and safe. Each Joint is using an S-Drive BLDC driver that is mounted on modular actuator designs for specific gimbal motors. Design can be changed easily by using different size aluminum extrusions or changing the gear ratio of modular gearboxes.
The total price of this first version is around 1000 dollars in raw materials. But I believe that the future version could be pushed to around 700-800 dollars.

This looks great! I've been looking for a robot design to use for high-speed camera work, it definitely has the speed, and looks like it might even have the smoothness too.

Oh next video will answer most of those questions so stay tuned. For GUI interface check previous videos but I made a lot of progress in meantime.

@@source-robotics I making a robotic arm as a school project and love your configuration but I have a limited budget. Is it possible to make a BLDC arm for under 200-300€ or are my options down to servos and steppers? I'll probably use and Arduino for control.

damn...are u the same guy that worked on faze robotic arm? why did u switch from steppers to bldc? I'm worried that 1:5 gear ratio is not sufficient enough

Hey, yes I am same guy that made Faze4. I switched to BLDCS to get closer to performance of human arms. About gear ratios you will see it is enough in next video I will post tomorrow ;)
