Where the problem is, the solution should be. Though it doesn't save a to of steps, this tool changer helps reduce downtime by removing distractions and having everything you need all in one place.
If you'd like to order one, you can do it here - www.advanced-m...

Thank you for sharing you technical bit information. I have had nested CNC's for 3 years now and have got my sheet count per "coated chip cutter compression bit" up to 200 and though I was doing great. The information you shared in this video is gold to me.

Probably the best 2 second lean video you’ve shot. It’s not about the stand. It’s not about expensive cnc machines. It’s about a simple problem and an appropriately simple solution. Your equipment and business is extremely impressive. It is also not relative in anyway to my situation. I almost unsubscribed. This video is relatable for me, because it’s about the problem solving. That said, I’m taking the time to leave this comment and stopping watching the video at 2:37 minutes in. At this point you’ve given me all I need to know. I hope your future videos are more along the lines of this one. Great video. Hope you keep it up. Thanks for posting.

Nice video! I also work with the guys at Advanced Machinery. A great group over there! Just a thought, what about having an extra tool holder loaded and ready with your main 3/8 compression bit. If it needs replaced you only lose moments of cnc time. Then while the machine is running the operator can refill the tool holder. Of course if one of the less used bits like drills or mortise bits needed replacing you would have a bit more downtime. Just thinking this could save even a few more minutes. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing your LEAN journey! Totally unrelated to this video: Could you show us more about your shop made slat wall and bins?

Hi we use shrink collet in our single tool SCM vertical CX100 machine with PCD tool 2 flutes. The PCD last longer and the round out of the shrink collet vs normal collet can trilple the tool life. I´m agree to use HM tools and not sharpen them, for the same reasons you explain, but I have only one tool and the 95% of the use of our machine is boring, the PCD one tool on the machine one tool in spare is enough for us. saludos Gerardo

I know you said you’re finished trying cutter but … you should try get your hands on a 10mm 4 fluted cutter. We started using one 6 months ago to cut our 16mm melamine and we can get 300-400 sheets out of each cutter with the machine running at 38m/min, cutting in a single pass. Was a massive upgrade from our previous cutter running at 25m/min with 2 passes.

Hey Harry, where do you get them cutters from? We use 12mm 4 flutes & can’t get above 300 sheets, single or 2 padding, cheers

Hey nice setup there, only issue might be the tool boxes are in front of the lazer zone ? So potentially can't change a tool while machine is working ? But yeah other than that pretty cool, need a setup like that in my shop for sure.

Hello. Impresive throughput on your machines. I am wondering do you maybe have information about meters of cut with one bit? Do you maybe cut also birch plywood with HPL glued to both sides also with this bits?
@lean-brothers

I’ve never kept track of that, just sheet counts.

@@lean-brothers would be interesting to compare. becouse if you tell me in sheets firstly your sheets are aproximatly half of european standard sheets secondly i can easly use 500sheets of material but i only do few meters of cuts on each. I use leitz diamaster pro (12mm by 22mm of workhight) bits and with 18m/min and 22000rpm i make aprox 3500 meters of cut on melamin boards. But i am not satisfied with speeds and lenght of cut.
