This is a detailed description to diagnose and repair a cobra class 26 sewing machine that is out of time. Resetting the needle bar and resetting the hook timing
My machine is working fine. I am watching PRIOR to needing help to know where to come back if needed. Thank you for sharing what you know with the rest of us.
Just finished the timing adj of Class 26 with Cobra maker over the phone yesterday and it was painful. Struggled with it for two days and was wishing Al Bane would make a video on Class 26. And viola, he did it today! After doing the 1/8" adj, I still had issue of hook piercing thread. What I ended up doing was to hold the thread and adj the hook and needle meeting point so hook picks up just right and not pick up partial thread. Another tip: When loosening the first two hook screws, don't loosen too much or it could disengage gear and not rotate to the next screw.
I just used all these settings to time my machine. Turns out I needed to adjust both the shuttle and the needle bar. My stitches are so beautiful now! Thank you so much!
Bought a used machine, worked fine, got it home and it just grunts, so I’m trying to troubleshoot. Thanks for this video, at least I know it isn’t the timing. 😜
@@albaneforleather Actually, it just hums, motor doesn’t engage. I took off the bottom cover under the feed dog (wish I could send a photo) and it looks like the whole assembly has shifted left of center, but it isn’t loose.
Hello Al I followed all your instructions on the patterns training video. Each time I get to a corner it makes a perfect one but then I have 2 thread in the bobin area? I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong? Could you help please Thanks Christian
You are not doing anything wrong the two threads are the needle thread captured by the hook. This is preventing the skipped Stitch during the turn. After you turn and cycle the machine the complete rotation the hook will release the thread and then you will only have one thread until the next cycle.
No, it's just Lint. It's funny how to the naked eye the whole system looks perfectly clean but then when you get a camera staring at it you can see all these microscopic particles. Right up until the time you try to zoom in then you can't see anything. Lol
Those wrenches are garbage and the metal just twists itself into a spiral. I brought my metric hex drivers from work and used a 1/4" drive ratchet and it loosened just fine. I wouldn't use ANY end of those cheap wrenches or there a liable to strip out the set screw socket.
I try to use the tools that come with the machine. Yes I understand that they're not the best tools that one could have for the process but if I use the tools that come with the machine the new operators who have only these tools to use have the ability to get their job done. Thank you for your comment.
