I discovered this year that caffeine consumption was giving me acne. Not from milk or sugar, just caffeine, whether it be from coffee, tea, or soda. When I stop drinking caffeine, my acne completely clears up. If I drink it for a couple days, I get break outs. Amazing discovery.

I know, I had a similar problem when I was in High School and my Dad suggested I just try a cut things out of my diet. Surprisingly the same thing worked fairly well. But in the end Accutane really got rid of most of my acne. If everything is fine for you now, then great! But if you find you‘re still getting breakouts here and there Accutane will definitely help. It takes about 6 months to work fully and your skin will get extremely dry during that period. But the results are amazing.

Yes, if I drink coffee 6 (or less) hours before going to bed, it becomes significantly harder for me to fall asleep. That's why I'm really careful about when to drink it during the day.

Your videos are amazing! Very well thought-out and interesting A random thought that had occurred to me is how music affects the brain. Sometimes I like to study while listening to music and I wonder if how that affects it. Maybe that could be an idea for a future video?

Great video, mate. Keep this good work, the internet need more of it. The website is also very nice :D I instinctively ran to the end of the description section to find the references, and didn't find it, so I remembered that you do write it also, and I opened your website to reach for them. I have a suggestion that could help you to reduce unnecessary and bothering comments: you could add at the bottom of the videos something like "references on website", or do like Simon Clark's recent science videos, and show the number of the article when you cite them on the video, and put them on the description. I personally did not bother going to your website, but when you grow, and you will, people could care about how easy they want to reach the information source. Again, awesome work! o/ The internet need more science based entertaining and instructive information.

I wake up 2 times per night to urinate from a prostate-driven bladder evacuation problem. I use low-light Kindle reading to quickly fall back to sleep. No caffeine after 2pm, and not drinking much water after 6. I drink carbonated mineral water. I'm 75 years old.

Well, that explains a lot. Sometimes I feel like coffee isn't working for me anymore. I feel tired all day, so I keep drinking it until the night, it doesn't allow me to sleep properly and I need a bigger amount of caffeine the next day.

On my website article, I talk about building up tolerance. Basically you just end up with more adenosine receptors so you need to have more caffeine to block them all.

I don't know better than but I think its good to have one in the mornings until 10:am, and second one until before 03:00. To take advantage of caffeine also to get quality sleep.

Great video. I have been drinking coffee for the past 42 years. I recently switched to a Nespresso machine with which I consume mostly lungo’s. Anyhoo, I have my last cup of coffee around 6 or 7 pm and it is normally a decaf. Perhaps the lower caffeine in the decaf contributes to not interrupting my ability to fall asleep.

What benefits does coffee retain for people that it doesnt make more awake? what causes some people to not feel more awake even when they drink coffee? Im curious because I and a sibling have never had the experience with coffee that most people have.

I have 600mg of caffeine and 1000mg of L-Theanine as soon as I wake up about 5am. And then train at 6am and bed 7-8pm.

Caffeine works in the same way no matter the source, tea may have different concentrations though. Potentially lower but depends on the type.

Can you make a video for mobile addiction? As I'm a student and right now there are online classes going on . They are around 4.30 hours straight 🥲 . Afterwords , I just play games and just do timepass . You won't believe daily I use mobile around 10 hours 🥺 . I want to do study but there's no pleasure in it 🥺 , but I have to study cause I have to give board exams 🥲🥲 . Please help 🥺

Probably a higher concentration of caffeine in coffee (depending on the type) but the caffeine from each of the different sources will all work in the same way. You might just need to drink more earl grey to have the same effects

@@JackClose I'm sorry I was not clear with my question: I wanted to know if there is a difference between the caffeine in question in coffee and the various aforementioned tea(s)? It seams, to me at least, the effect lasts longer if the same amount of caffeine is ingested in say 'Dragon Well' green tea or pure black coffee. Are there any differences in how it is processed within the body and thus the effects retention, or perhaps simply less of a tendency to build up a resistence to it? Thanks.

Are the benefits of coffee necessarily related to the caffeine in it? Or are there similar benefits to drinking caffeine free coffee?

In the Western diet, we get 79% of our dietary antioxidants from coffee and tea. These antioxidants have lots of effects on the body, including reducing damage to our cells, so the benefits are definitely not just due to caffeine. More information on this in my article: www.jackclose.com/coffee/
