Looks like fun, we use 2500 size reels with 10 to 14 pound line here in Michigan and jigging like that will more than likely get you a ticket for snagging. But I come to Washington every year and will eventually find time to fish.

Yeah, jigging is tricky, but as long as the hook is forward of the gill plate you are good to go. Of course, if you accidentally sang the fish behind he gill plate then the angler is required to let them go.

Targeting the nisqually fish I presume? Just started fishing from shore, I’m usually in the rivers. Been at browns point but I think it’s still a bit early

Yes, and yes it is a little early. Ironically I was just talking about that today with someone. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Great video! What was the rod you were using? I can't seem to find it on your website or online. I am looking for a portable setup I can keep in my car and it looks like a nice one.

How do you pick spots in south sound? Not asking for spots themselves btw, just pointers on getting started exploring. Up in North Sound we just look for beaches close to the big rivers where fish would stage, or places along migration paths. But South sound fish are all small creek fish correct?
@reelbluecustomrods
@reelbluecustomrods Год назад
Great question, and I do the same. Lots of BIG rivers in the south sound by the way. Thank you for watching and commenting.

So is the hike down to the beach really 1.5 miles?
@reelbluecustomrods
@reelbluecustomrods Год назад
Pretty close to it Bob. All down hill in the way down, and of course all uphill on the way back.

What jig do you recommend using for coho?
@reelbluecustomrods
@reelbluecustomrods 2 года назад
The one in this video is a Catch Beta-Bug in pink. I’ve also used some of their other micro jigs as well, but Coho seem to really like the pink Beta-Bug.

@@rowland84outdoors11 - I don’t know the name of the beach, but it is just south of Solo Point. You will see all of the old pier pulling sand railroad on the beach.

@@rowland84outdoors11 - no worries. And if you keep coming south pass this beach you will arrive at the shipwreck. Low tide is always better. You can get out and climb on it. It is/was a concrete boat.

If your going to release the fish you catch, try leaving them in the water next time. It's better for the fish. Every time it flops around it is losing slim, which is there defence system to deceases.

Thank you for watching and commenting Red, and yes, you are absolutely correct. That being said, I initially was going to keep it, but decide to put it back since it was a Native salmon. Thanks again for watching.
