Yeah I have the same knife (Tanto point) and what I did was to fold some sand paper, place it under the pocket clip and use the pressure of the clip to bring down the G10 texture right under the clips contact point. It works perfect, no scuffing to the grip at all cause it's only bringing down the texture directly under the clip.

jacob Johnson how long? Not sure I understand the question. Just fold the sandpaper so that the smooth end is facing the clip and the abrasive side is on the handle. Pull back and forth a few times, maybe 10 swipes then pull the paper and check to see if you took enough material off, try cliping it to your pocket it should go in and out smoothly :) trial and error but there is no real way I can tell you how many swipes it will take… hope that helped.

You should try the gerber gator... Great knife, but it's a little bulky for pocket carry and is more of an outdoors knife

I wish the blade was just a hair bigger on this knife. It just looks out of proportion, but it's the functionality that matters and this thing is solid.

hi, this was an excellent knife. by the way, i got mine few days ago, but the opening/ flickering of blade is quite snug , also the pressing of folding tab. is there a need of break in so that i could use this with one hand only?

Just about every knife has some sort of break in period, so yeah. What I do with mine is I just keep opening it and closing it while I'm watching TV or something like that. It will probably get easier after about a week give or take. Hope this helps! :)

the best way to break in the cold steel folders I've found is to leave them half open (at about 90 degrees) for a full day. then pick it up, open and close it a few times and see if its better. if it aint good yet, leave it again open at 90 degrees for a few more days. should not take more than a week I think, even if the lock is extra hard.

How the heck do you flip that blade out like that. I keep trying it and it wants to cut my thumb. It seems to stop half way.

you have to break it in. allow me to copy and paste what I just wrote to another dude: the best way to break in the cold steel folders I've found is to leave them half open (at about 90 degrees) for a full day. then pick it up, open and close it a few times and see if its better. if it aint good yet, leave it again open at 90 degrees for a few more days. should not take more than a week I think, even if the lock is extra hard.

A great test for knife would be cutting through hard plastic shrink wrap. But till now I have not seen anyone in any review test their knife against it. It would be nice since that is a material we have to deal with these days whenever we buy many items.

No Sanity Involved I would highly recommend the MINI RECON for a durable EDC blade. Either the Drop Point or Clip Point will work great, I would search around and get which ever one is cheaper. I saw Knifecenter.com had the Clip Point for $35 a few days ago.

It depends. If you are looking for just EDC I would say SOG, but if you are looking for a hard use knife the Cold Steel.

I used to own a SOG Mini Aegis... and recently picked up the Mini Recon 1 (clip pt)... in answer to your question... the Mini Recon 1 all the way... unless you are just absolutely obsessed with weight (the Mini Aegis is lighter, but the Mini Recon is far from heavy) the Mini Recon blows the Mini Aegis away in every category.
