Kobe was to LA what Michael Jordan is to Chicago. The entire city loved and idolized him.

Kobe was bigger than basketball. If you played any sport, you could look up to him and gain inspiration about how passionate he was.

You can tell in the last couple of years, Colin’s admiration of Kobe exponentially grew since his retirement and was one of the few public sport personalities that gave Kobe the credit he deserves, and always reminded the public of his greatness. Salute to Colin for being real about Kobe before any of this happened and always keeping his greatness in perspective making sure his younger listeners would do their research, and put perspective on Kobe’s greatness. Something barely any other sports personalities would do outside of Skip.

Kobe’s impact not just on LA but as a global icon is unprecedented. This is not a loss just a celebration of life, may he Gigi and the others rest in paradise.

The tears will never go away. This is a tragedy on the entire world. He didn't deserve this ending to a great life.

I really love how he talked about him being flawed. Kobe wasn’t perfect, no one is. But he really seemed to learn from his mistakes and do better. It’s important to see people for all of who they are and make peace with that as best you can, in life and in death.

I’ve been listening to The Herd since I was in college (mid 2000s). Love Cowherd, whether he is right or wrong. But hearing him break down at the end of this segment remains one of my most cherished memories of The Herd. Colin showing a bit of his humanity, a shared humanity with us. It was beautiful.

Only a few celebrities in history have had such a impact in our lives , sports and non sports , Kobe is up there with Michael Jackson , Elvis , 2pac , biggie ,prince , Whitney Houston , for us Hispanics Juan Gabriel and others like them, we have lost a hero a superhero, to some and ICON to others and a LEGEND to all of us 😢😢 Whether u liked the lakers or hated them , whether u liked basketball or not , KOBE will always be remembered for the impact he made on coaches ,teammates ,opponents and fans all over the world including in other sports who had the privilege and honor of just being in the same floor and arena with him .😭😭😢😢 The thing I have to say all the 👎 they don’t have a heart and should look at there loves ones ,kiss them and tell them they love them while they still can with the passing of not just Kobe but also his 13yr old daughter and the rest of the passengers on the helicopter we should stop and think ,stuff like this should not happen but only god knows why they do I’m a brother , son , uncle ,father and also a grandfather and I’ve had moments like this in my life and it’s never nice to go through this type of losses some I had a chance to say I love you and to others I didn’t 😢 The games that we watched of his and the lakers ,United everyone for a few hours a week to watch greatness in the making ,we got to see him do his magic on the court ,we forgot about our daily life troubles and stress for those few moments the ones that got to see him play live in any arena throughout the nba and also the world while he played for team USA , cherish those memories and tell those stories to your kids and grandkids about how you had a chance to watch the greatest LAKER and one of the greatest players of all time play We as fans only knew the player ,our hero our role model , we watched him fall and get back up so many times in and out of his basketball life , playing through personal problems and those damn basketball injuries the players that played with him and against him seen a different side of him that we hear now with the stories they tell us . Never has the loss of a celebrity I’ve never even met hit me so hard. It’s been a little over 2 months and not a day has passed where I haven’t thought of Kobe and his daughter Gigi. At the very least he’s been immortalized through the legacy that he left behind. He’s inspired an entire generation of people based on hard work, or as we know it, mamba mentality. He wasn’t even my favorite player yet he still served as a huge inspiration to me growing up. I hope you and your baby Gigi are smiling up there. You’ve touched so many of us throughout your journey and we’ll never forget you. Long Live Mamba. Long Live Mambacita.

I remember when Kobe came into the league he was 17 I was 7 I enjoyed every moment he was on this earth everybody know I'm 1 of the biggest Kobe fans ever I was just saying Kobe was the goat the night before he past and the tv screen was stuck on him dunking this really seems unreal may he rest in peace and also the others who lost there lives I'm still shocked hurt and sad a piece of me died when I found out it was true Kobe will always be the GOAT 😓😢😭😔
