@Holy Drug Lord🔼 except for Ralphie May. Patrice made him look dumb asf and fat asf on Tough Crowd. Let’s not lie, Ralphie sucked and Patrice saw straight thorough it.
@Man on phone it _could_ exist on RU-vid but wouldn’t be eligible for monetization from Adsense. The no-no words like “retard” & “faggot” aren’t outright banned regardless of context, but a channel saying them would have to find its own sponsors or make money by subscriptions. RU-vid really isn’t the anti-free-speech-demon its made out to be, they just depend too much on appeasing their own advertisers
@Man on phone Go for it, I mean I wrote both, didn’t I? The only reason it’d be removed is if we delete our own comments or somebody sensitive reports them, which says more about that somebody than it does about RU-vid as an entity. I stand by the fact that RU-vid isn’t inherently against any words, regardless of context, unless that context is in actually harassing someone
Patrice pulled me out of a deep deep hole. Gave me perspective and my confidence and happiness back. RIP dawg thanks for the wisdom. Miss black Philip show and his comedy. Pure genius. One of the greatest thinkers of all time .
Same here i was in a deep hole not knowing anything about relationships I was what Patrice calls a penguin thank god for his appearances on O&a and black Phillip idk where id be now without patrices advice
I miss that show. I used to watch it religiously and I even attended a taping once when they had Jim Norton, Keith Robinson, Arnez J and a female comic as the panel, I think she was British or Australian. They couldn’t do that show today with this political climate. Patrice and Geraldo used to kill on there, RIP. But Keith, Jim, Rich and Nick were great too.
@@bushmg1061 Not one of my favorite episodes. Patrice was my favorite on the panel and he wasn’t there that day. But I do remember laughing a few times. I can’t recall specific jokes. I remember there was this weird dude with glasses who was annoying the hell out of Colin and Norton. When Norton was entering the studio, he ran up to him, asking him all sorts of dumb questions. I had to sit next to that goof in the audience.
Did you know Roe Jogan also hates the new studio setup? Have you seen the clip where he tells Joe he hates it? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gJipwZOv0J8.html
@Samba Warrior Patrice was the opposite.. he'd be an absolute legend with Carlin and Pryor if he had lived long enough for people to see him main stream... assuming he didnt bomb his way out out of gigs lol
@Luis Dominguez he'd have been the leader of BLM and pinned all racism on some old white guy with a goofy mustache on a bike lol Then we'd all get along haha
Tough Crowd was my unwind after late work nights for many years. Thank you Colin Quinn for that show. Bringing it back as a weekly or even monthly podcast would be outstanding.
Unfortunately a lot of the comics are used to someone else running things, financing everything and handling the production so they can just come in and be funny. If they simply pulled their money together and ran it themselves there would be no censoring or issues. It wouldn't cost a lot either. They're just not reach savvy people so they rely on networks or big businesses, which have no interest in potentially offensive content because their target audience isn't Tough Crowd's target audience. Joe's got millions, he could probably finance it and put together a team using a week of his income, but good luck convincing these old curmudgeons to get out of their comfort zone.
@@iSOBigD And getting the band back together. Colin clearly misses Patrice, Greg and Ken Ober. I hope Joe can convince Colin to get the band back together
Love Colin, it's so sad the culture we live in today where shows just 20 years ago like Tough Crowd, is near impossible to pull off today. Would love a Tough Room podcast though with Colin.
I get the impulse to bring Tough Crowd back but I hope Colin doesn't. It just wouldn't be the same now, especially without Patrice or Giraldo. What needs to happen is a full digital release of the show in its entirety.
I was just a kid staying up late watching every episode of Tough Crowd. I Loved it and it's such a time capsule of the times, it was wayy different back then.
@@1920sBuffaloGuy That would be dope but you know they would call for it to be canceled as soon as they saw Nick Dip and Cumia were on. It would have to be a podcast not on any major platform....
Haha I just commented the same sentiment as you, then scrolled down. Joey Dias has zero on Patrice. I even hate that I have to write both names in the same sentence.
To this day, I watch tough crowd on RU-vid. There's a bunch of episodes floating around. One of my favorite shows of all time. RIP to all who participated!! If you're NOT familiar, get familiar!
Tough Crowd is the bomb (and that's coming from someone who started watching it 10+ years after the fact) and Colin is my favorite comedian ever, along with Norm. Tough Crowd was way more free and loose and much, MUCH less safe/kosher than JRE ever is/has been (and they were on TV!). For those wondering, there's a playlist of the whole show (or close to it) that this guy made on youtube (i think it's privated right now, but it should be back available eventually).
I watched Tough Crowd every night when it was new. It started off that they all thought of themselves as liberal Democrats and by the end they all realized they changed! Was one of the most interesting TV transformations ever!
@@Jacobk66 Wow, I didn't know about that. That's cool, I gotta watch more and look for it. But the crazy thing is that most of the more liberal things said on that show would probably not be considered liberal at all now. And, of course, the more conservative things said on the show would get you fired from Fox News or doxxed today haha.
Colin Quinn is like the old man that shoed you off his lawn when you were real young, but you got to know him better when you grew up and it turns out he's not just a curmudgeon, but the funniest one to ever live.
Damn. The way Rogan talked over Colin when he was starting talking about Patrice. Smh. Like Joe was not trying to hear nothing about Patrice on this show. Smh
Tough Crowd was where I was introduced to Patrice O'neal. Every episode while it remained on air I would tune in hoping that Patrice would be on. And if he wasn't, I'd likely still watch anyway. No way on earth TC with Colin Quinn would see the light of day on any TV network from 2013 on up.
I love that Rogan is trying to talk Colin into bringing Tough Crowd back in some form. I loved that show and most of the comics on it. It would be great to see today as a podcast. Do it Colin! Do it!
I honestly miss O&A, when they would spend the whole show ripping/riffin on each other with Colin, Patrice, Bobby, Norton, Vos, Burr. Man, the best laughs I had was when they would start riffing on random shit.
it was so great to form as a teen watching Tough Crowd, listening to these guys on O&A daily. it was harsh, but there also was a lot of truth and things to learn. and its hard to accept that those times have passed and what we have now is so different. the best were not replaced by better ones.
The JRE cast reboot of Tough Crowd would be horrific. Joey. Brendan. Joe. Imagine the conversation. Colin would off himself before he he has a conversation with Brendan Shaub
3:38 Was Quinn being serious or only joking about Norton not being wanted back? If he wasn't joking, was it because of a personal problem or because Norton's jokes are too far behind the pale?
