The reason you thought Blazing Volley dealt 3, is because you confused the Obosh and Torbran effects.

Heedbonder is crazy efficient, and you can get some really dumb combos with it. By itself it's great at defense and face racing. It's human it has a lot of synergy, its good with other vigilance you will tend to have like farfinder, and if you get two copies down you're casually gaining 4 health a turn. They screen off small creatures and tokens while giving you hp back from attacks they can't block. I played against a slow green deck too much ramp into only big stuff, then they got out three heedbonders and there was nothing I could do since I was using all my strong removal on big stuff (pacifism, dead weight, and capture sphere don't really work). Gain 9 hp at end of turn = gg, not even factoring in the bodies.
