Truly, one needs to go no further. I've been speechless since I found Steve Fletcher. I am following everything he does. He does it flawless, what an inspiration
Okay, I'll admit that made me pull the bic out. I have seen so many people try to do this piece and play the notes, but they lack the style. You were able to get the shapes and bends, the essence, and the spirit of David Gilmour. Great job.
firemedic5100 dude are are correct, i was going to make my own post like you did and everyone else did but fortunately yours was the first one that i read that was going to be exactly what i was going to say. I watched several solo covers on this tonight probably at least 40 and i ran across some awesome ones too!! A lot of them were outstanding and I loved them, i even ran across a female that was better than a lot of the men doing this cover, but my point is this, there were a lot of shortcuts in the finger work in many of the covers that I watched although they were still awesome but they used a lot of shortcuts and I never seen any of them stretching the strings like David does. This guy in this cover did everything perfect as it should have been done, he played this solo exactly like it was supposed to be played just like David played it, thanks for seeing that and I agree with all of your opinions.

Thank you so much! I've known how to play this solo for awhile but i was playing a version that had everything from 10:49 to 12:28 cut out, i found this complete version and have been dying to figure out how to do the slides at 11:16 and thanks to you I now know, thank you so much man! And thank you for slowing it down.
@@SteveFletcherGuitar I'll definitely check them out, sorrow is a song that has eluded me for a long time, the tone that Gilmour is able to pull out for Sorrow is one of the hardest tones I've ever tried to recreate, it's easy to create feedback, but to control it like Gilmour? That's an entirely different beast to slay.
too excited hearing this..could not handle the aftermath of silence that ensued this masterpiece..thank you VM.and i almost forgot to add that when I tried playing this, in comparision it sounded like Freddy Kruger scratching his nails outside my window pleading me to stop.

aornic Hiya. Do you mean the 'rocking' part? It's deceptively simple and just calls for some over the top whammy bar action. Basically you have two notes on at the same time - 1. Fret 17 on 1st string and 2. Fret 19 on 2nd string. Play 1st string and bend whammy DOWN. Then whilst your whammy bar is down play the 2nd string and let the whammy come back UP. Oh...and practice. Good luck. Steve. :-)
Ah okay. I've been fretting both the 17th notes but bending the one on the B string after doing the whammy part on the 17th of the high E. I think it might be my guitar, it's got a Floyd Rose and the whammy is really sensitive and it never quite sounds right. Thanks!

Hey Steve! I would like to share a video of mine with you and would love your remarks/comments on it. Please let me know what would be the way to do so.
Hiya. Scroll through the comments and you'll find this question has been answered quite a few times already. The TABS are also available if you follow the instructions in the description.
Hiya. I've redone this video with a section specifically explaining how to play this part. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K03aYcfjPTA.html
I think it's possible Andrey Koralev did it better but I'm not sure entirely 🤷 I'm shocked anybody has even come close or equalled Andreys version. Incredible!!!
Don't know who that is. Comparing one guitarist to another is fairly silly as each individual guitarist has his/her individual touch. I can only play it as well as I can play it myself. But thanks for watching.
Because there's no string bending involved. You play fret 17 on E string and bend trem DOWN, then (whilst trem is still down) play fret 19 on the b string and allow trem to come back UP. Repeat. Let me know if you don't follow.
Hiya. For this video I used my Line 6 Amplifi. These day's I use my Helix. Just so you know this video has now been completely upgraded and updated. Please click the link for more... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K03aYcfjPTA.html
