I'm ace but I'm also autistic and trans. I often feel the need to say things like: "but not all autistics are asexual" or "my sexuality isn't due to gender dysphoria" and so on. I worry about being "bad representation" because there isn't *enough* representation out there for us to feel free to be varied human beings. Great topic, guys!

Snao is that you? Anyways, yes, your story does help :) People often assume that my asexuality is because of my autism, or, weirdly, because I'm nonbinary. People always assume asexuality is caused by something or other, rather than it being able to just exist on its own.

I am 33 and only in 2010, a German friend (they are more open to sex than we are here in Portugal) told me after listening to me explaining how I felt, that I was probably asexual and after that, it clicked in my head but listening to your path It was like listening to my own story, apart from the fact that I never had any health issues. But I struggled with obesity since I was about 9 and always thought it was why I never felt anything towards sex or relations but I realized it was not the case. And some ppl would say that maybe there was trauma or something from my past but no, I never felt anything sexually towards anyone. In 2011 now that I realized that I was asexual, for a coincidence there was an episode with a guy (he tried to force something...) after that I was even more sure about my asexuality. Unfortunately here in Portugal, nobody understands it, not even the LGBT+ community. It makes me sad but I am happy because I know I am not alone.
