Simple Video Comparing different mud effect acrylic textured paints currently on the market. www.amazon.com/Vallejo-Dioram... www.amazon.com/AKI-Diorama-Ef... www.amazon.com/Stirland-Mud-4... Thanks for watching!
Debating between the Vallejo and AK muds, planning to do a Death Guard basing of wet muddy ground with razerwire and tufts poking through. Both look great.
You can always get both and mix the effects. The colors are close enough to give you some variation as well? With a few random tufts they do look great. :)
@@WarpGateStudios Yeah looking forward to slapping them onto some bases. I've got some pretty dead looking grass tufts to sell the whole muddy war-torn trenchy landscape, just the place DG wanna stomp through!
@@Slippers yeah! You could even use some of the AK puddles stuff I used in another video on them as it has a slightly green tinge to it which would fit in with the heavy mud as well.
@@WarpGateStudios Oooh just watched the video and yeah now I'm thinking small drops of the AK puddles in amonst the uneven muddy ground. Really appreciate the advice!
@@Slippers no worries at all! Basing for me is as important as painting the models! :) make sure you post up the DG once you get going in them! Would love to see how they look! :)
@@WarpGateStudios good paint comparisons especially texture paints seem to be few and far between, also would be cool to see them compared on minis, many people use these mud, sand and snow type paints on vehicles but not many videos on how it appears, like if it clumps up in areas you don't want it etc. Sorry for the ramble
@@insomniacbritgaming1632 no worries and thanks for the ideas! And yeah I think I’m gonna do some more product line comparisons for sure as they seem more popular! :) appreciate the feedback and if you want want to subscribe I would appreciate it!
The 28mm/32mm citadel range is around the 1/56 and 1/48 scale. The video was purely to look at textures that people may want to use on their bases. For a smoother finish the citadel is perfect. The Vallejo and AK have varying levels of more texture in them though for sure.
