Very informative! I wonder if I am alone in loving the FT back kibble. I flair it out a bit and it makes them look pretty unique. As I continue to collect MPs, I am slipping in my G1 accuracy discipline. These insecticons and my DX9 Blitzwing are such great examples of why strict adherence may be a hindrance to that wow factor on the shelf.
I picked up the MMC bugs for 150 Canadian about 5 years back. My set seems to be a lot better put together than the one you got, which is interesting. I don't have a preference as honestly I could care less about insecticons, hence getting the cheapest ones I could. At the time the FT ones would have cost me a grand and no matter how "good" they are, they are not worth that kind of money even 600 for the three is way too much imo.
I had already decided which set to get and I finally got it today. Which is it? Fans Toys version, of course. I did consider getting the Mastermind Creations versions at one point but decided not to do it when I saw how little cartoon accurate two of its figures looked in the insect mode. I have not tried the other two yet, but Grenadier really looks nice and transforms well. It is a surprisingly heavy figure and the painted chest really stands out when you look it up close and in person. They are pricey figures indeed, but I do not regret buying them.
I had settled on the MMC version and then I picked up the FT reissues but once I had them both in hand there really was no denying that I am completely insane and spend too much money on toys.
He was a bit lenient with fans toys if you ask me. But when you get to price the MMC set is $50 - $100 cheaper than a single fanstoys. The fanstoys set is now about 5 times more expensive.
Thanks for the recommendation about Bababobo00712. After my usual US-based places dried up as far as FansToys pre-orders were concerned this summer, I decided to give them a try. I was able to get pre-orders for all the ones I missed earlier this year. They shipped off my first piece from Tianjin on 7/13 and it arrived today (7/26) on the US East Coast. Excellent experience so far, fast shipping, and it's also cheaper by a good margin.
Badcube collectors Edition is the one to go, BC has the best and most good looking bot modes on all of their insecticons, although FT-12 Greandier aka Bombshell may look better in some areas than the BC one.
@@TMReviews To me overall, mmc jus looks better to me. Face and head sculpts are more better. Fans toys faces are so bland and boring just like their sovereign thats why i chose dx9 tyrant. Hated how fans toys insecticons' lower legs are too thick.
@@yautjaxenomorph9472 wow r u serious 😳 u like dx9 tyrant better than Fanstoys 🤯 I've never heard that, i will say that their alt mode is amazing and more toon accurate, but Fanstoys knocks it outta the park with sculpt build materials face sculpt weight basically everything, well 2 each there own , I personally think Fanstoys GALVATRON is 1 of there BEST figures ever
The Upside - FT hands down for the WIN - You could see it coming.......... However, the MMC Price Point is the VALUE set Hands down. The Real Question is whether you think the FTs PRICE (GOUGING) POINT is worth it Significantly enough - (Let's be honest - shelf warmers once posed) - to justify the 350% PRICE DIFFERENCE? Great Review - Looking forward to what Bad Cube can do
Yes sir…. I have the MMC and it’s tempting to get the fanstoys but at that price point, I’m still undecided. MMC does the job and I don’t think the difference on the shelf is significant enough to change it out…
Cool 📹 comparison, but just like I knew a SLAUGHTER, FANSTOYS 💪 ALL DAY...hey Sony just 2 let u know I finally received my mp-52 from the chosen prime 2day man im so happy 😊 it only took alittle over a month but finally my 1st seeker 😄 👍...anyways 🙏🙏📹👍(thanku 4 the review)
I haven't even gotten to the comparison and I already know how this is going to go. The MMC are my preferred set but even I know they're the worst set of the available three.
Bless you but I have to disagree. I’ve had the MMC and Badcube. I still have the MMC and sold the Badcube and waiting for the fan toys to show up. The Badcubes were the worst transformers to me not withstanding they were insecticons - that I ever bought. With the exception of Xtb Ollie. Robo form were ok via BC but MMC versions are solid for both in my opinion.
@@TMReviews I mean I've always championed this set because it meets my needs and I can get great poses out of them and they're affordable, but I always just assumed this was a case of "you like it you win."
@@nerdraged411 I wouldn’t know about that. FT plastic is good, but a lot of people mistake heft for quality plastic. They add a lot of metal to distract from it. They honestly aren’t hard to break at all. Especially recent figures who started to arrive broken.
All 3rd party and Takara MPs have QC issues but FT has a certain quality feel that satisfies the perceived value(maybe it is the pot metal and paint).,so far FT has been way ahead of the 3rd party competition, there is no non takara company better than them at the moment so they charge alot because they can.
It's a confluence of different things. Inflation, trade policies, material costs shooting up during Rona. I'm sure FT are trying to squeeze a bit more profit to pay for a factory, but you can't just point to any one thing and say "this is why". I've got about 10 or so FT figures and they're the best figures in my collection. Never had any issues with them as long as you transform it right (Jabber). I'll happily spend the extra cash for better quality than some of the crappiness XTB puts out.
