Lmaoo. Shoutout to my British people. I worked for Universal Orlando and a majority of foreign tourist are from England. The realism of that made it all the funnier.
Crowbean yeah, I agree it he had let them in, he probably would’ve gotten written up for breaking the rules, and if you get written up a certain amount of times, you get fired
I remember my mum telling me that when we went to Disney in the early 2000's (I was only a toddler then) that two blokes stole an old woman's purse and had made a dash for it, my dad giving chase. My mum then runs up to one of the security guards and tells him what happened, he looked in the direction the thieves went, then back at her and said "Don't worry madam, they wont make it out of here", a few minutes later my dad was walking back to us, with the thieves who were being escorted by two other men who worked for the Disney secret services.
+ESL 420BlazeIt Your not a "true" american. No one is 100 % murican nowadays. Were all from different countries with different race etc etc. Anyone can technically be murican.
So this is totally full-circle, but I remember watching this video way back when I was young and impressionable. When you said to be “the best employee you could be,” I actually took that to heart. I remember getting a job at a really big tech company and applied that philosophy day in and day out, all because of you. All because I watched this video. The job didn’t entirely work out, but coming back to watch this full circle... man, I remember how hard I was trying. I felt so inspired because if sWooZie could do it and make it fun, why couldn’t I? Thank you sWooZie for helping me remember such a big moment from my past and inspiring me to do better! You rock!
Once took your advice of "outdoing myself". We're not allowed to accept tips at my job, but a customer bought be a case of oreos, and I love Oreos so yay!
I have incredibly mixed feelings for that English family tho. If I were in Swoo’s shoes, I’d probably have done the same thing, and I’d feel terrible for having to play the bad guy. Even if it wasn’t their fault, there’s nothing I could do besides giving them my condolences. Those rules are in place for a reason. Making one exception might seem harmless enough, but you let one late family in, and then you could have like 50 late families begging to let you in. It’s a slippery slope that’s not worth risking.
Yeah, that is true. Even if you tried to keep it a secret, the place is so crowded that any guest or manager could have seen you do it and you would get written up or fired on the spot. Plus, if you need the money and you're one of the only POCs there, you'd risk looking bad and losing your chance to earn a decent amount of money.
"Y-you see that rock over there sir? We'll even sit on the rock-we'll jst-look at the sharp edges so we'll probably cut ourselves and bleed to death on it we don't care! Just please! Pleease, pleease........" idk why I died so hard😂😂😂😂
They call it Asset Protection. I walked in to one and randomly asked the cashier "how many AP's are working tonight?". He said "oh sorry miss but I can't tell you that.".
+Regina Palisano as a retired cop... i worked with all levels of walmart security left and right. asset protection isn't some highly guarded secret. almost every store (target walmart etc ) has lp's (loss prevention) in pain clothes that you would never realize work there and follow thieves on camera.
I saw a Disney secret service on my trip last week and I only noticed him because I noticed the clear earpiece in his ear and I showed it to my whole family and he said something in his microphone and looked at me like "dude why u blow my cover" and he hurried away looking all paranoid around at all the guests.
I worked Epcot Festivals and Star Wars:Galaxy’s Edge. I was guest flow at GE for the opening of Rise of the Resistance and we had a virtual queue, which filled up within 20 minutes of rope drop. The sheer number of people who would get upset with me for not letting them on the ride was crazy. So many people told me that I ruined their vacation that I eventually had a competition with some of my co-workers to see who ruined the most vacations.
I actually knew about the secret service. My mom and her friend sat on a bench talking for two hours while my friends and I were going around, and someone came up to them and started asking them questions about if they had kids, where there kids are, what they are doing, why are they just sitting there, like really more questions than a curious stranger would ask.
If he let that family in, he'd have to let EVERY SINGLE family who was late to any showing in as well. Adande's managers hate his guts so they won't take too kindly to him breaking the rules.
I know right!! I have always wanted to know how he did that. I've worked as a lifeguard for years at a luxury spa and gym and tips are just not a thing. Wtf. 😫
Talk to them, with a very carrying sounding voice. When talking to the men (the ones that tip) talk in a higher tone. Like you would to a child. No joke.
Funny story, I went to Disney a few weeks ago, and I walk up to a manager who is praising an employee, and I just say in a voice like Swoozie' s whispering voice "Disney's secret service". The manager walks up to me and asks "How did you learn about that?" I just reply with "Swoo-" then he just starts yelling and cursing, then he kicks me out of the park, I think he lost his job then, but he deserves it, cursing at Disney? Shame.
2018 is almost over and it has been the hardest year of my life. I just wanted to re-watch this video before it was over. I've dealt with extreme insecurities and I just wanted to thank you sWooZie, I watched this video and it made me realize I don't have to be the best or what everyone considers great; I just need to do the best I can and work from there. I saw this in augest and its been my goal since
Dude, I say this with sincerity, you ought to go into voice acting at some point. I about died with your re-telling of that British family trying to get in... lol. Great video!
So two girls on a field trip to Universal a few years ago went into a gift shop and stole something (I forget what, maybe jewerly or something), and the secret service people, who are, of course, dressed up to look like every other visitor there and blend in, saw them and followed them, then when they caught the two they went to our band teacher and told them what happened and that they wanted to bring the two girl's parents here to Universal to pick them up. But my band teacher convinced them that the parent's don't need to go and pick them up (it is at the very least a hour drive from the school, probably two hours, actually, imagine if your parents had to drive that long while thinking their child did an attempt in shoplifting) and so at the end the two girls had to sign a contract that if the two ever stepped on Universal property again they would get a fine (a big one). The rest of the field trip the two did nothing and the band teacher had to watch over them. Then my band teacher said when they got back to school the dean would decide their punishment, and, of course, the parent's would have their own punishment also for their child.
lpsfanforeverofficial Most stores have undercover security to prevent and apprehend shop lifters. They watch the security cameras and also walk around the store pretending to be customers. So it it really a surprise a company as big as Disney has em?
So true about the Secret Service. My girl and I just spent last week in DW, and I was spotting guys left and right that were dressed in jeans/T-shirts, but with sunglasses and hats on, hanging up on walls. They literally had *earpieces* in, and the first time I saw one I thought I was being crazy. I started getting close to him, saw the earpiece, and then he made me. I got followed around Animal Kingdom for two hours, from the Yeti ride to the safari and all the way to Dino USA. They're creepy :X
+Anisa Ally Yes but being they would be on a international flight, and will have to check in, and get there early and stuff, they still shouldn't be at the park. Getting out of there would be murder...having to get a taxi, and all of that. Plus, when I worked at Walt Disney World, I had many international guests say to me "Our plane leaves in 40 minutes, let us see the show...please"
+Wolfmyth100 No, but they are leaving to go to the airport in 40 minutes. We don't know when the actual flight is. They may be getting there 2 hours before the flight leaves; you don't know.
0:40 I actually feel like Walgreens brain washes you because when I'm there getting food or something, I constantly smile to strangers and I have to stop myself from asking if they need help lol
well no shit its no wonder why my school cannot do grad night at disney cause its mostly the past graduated student at my school who were smoking weed at disney land and they didnt even know that disney have a secret service. - _ - and that why my grad night was at knots AND WE LEAVE EARLY I HATE IT
You shouldn't be smoking illegal substances in publicl in the first place... that's fucked up especially since it's in a fucking kid's park. How dumb can you people be?
cause my school is ghetto as fuck and yes im going to name my highschool because I already graduated and I dont care to expose it but Rancho doesnt know how to keep a straight line
I agree with you. Give it your all with your job! I work at the cafeteria of my college and typically, it's a job people hate. But I make sure to smile, start conversations, put a little extra food in the meals, all that stuff. One customer even asked I sing with him while I make the food and I did. Thanks to that, I've gotten positive reviews and my boss is proud. She offered me a summer position (super rare opportunity w/ tons of extra pay), let me eat brownies with her in the office sometimes and goes out of her way to not put me behind grill (aka most dreaded shift ever). And customers have specifically asked for me; I've made friends easily. But one of the best parts is knowing I made someone's day a bit better.
I was working at a swimming pool at one time on Ft Bragg, North Carolina, some one tipped me 500.00 bucks just for being nice to a guy ,and his family. I spent it on a PS3, and a video game.
Must have been a 4 star general, I didn't know a single person in the military while I severed that made enough money too tip anyone $500.00! You are very lucky!!!
Morgan Shepherd yeah, i went there once and some guy fell off one of the rides, when he did, he landed smack on the god damned pavement and screamed really loud as if he saw a monster or something. Some paramedics arrived and carried him away, and he was still screaming too. A lot of people were chatting about that too. Now if you ask, i think i saw bone sticking out from his leg, so his leg probably broke in two from the impact. Fucking crazy man
Even if it's true, he learned a valuable lesson because of that incident, which is to try to do his best in what he does and work hard. It's also a valuable lesson for us to do our best in life. :)
It probably was just a family that wanted to go somewhere else because the kids weren't enjoying the show. Not something overly dramatic but could use a spice up to make the story interesting
The only time i got to go to Disney was last summer, it was a school group vacation so i had to stick with the tour-guy and the group, he gave us like an hour or two for us to do whatever we want. I went to the rides that i wanted and had fun, then i was like "Ohh i get to meet the princesses", cause half of the point being there was for the princess, yes i'm almost eighteen and you can call me immature or whatever but think about it this way, i never got to go to Disneyland until those days, what did you expect? Anyways so i always searched for the princesses and never got to meet them, until one day after searching i finally found one, Merida. I was so excited and i ran up there and was about to go in, until, this old lady employee, put this chain right in front of me. I was like "Hey couldn't i just cut in? I mean there are only three people inside and i really want-" "Sorry, you should come tomorrow" "But, i'm not coming tomorrow" she ignore and i walked away, why couldn't i come the next day, cause it was a school group vacation, you can't repeat the same events. So yeah, i'm gonna die without meeting a Disney princess.
Ok, so, I'm 13, and, i got a summerjob for a week on a Convention. I worked in the Conventions camping, you know, cleaning up in the camping, helping people raise their tents, letting in people that has a ticket and so, and we had like, 3 rules. Dont let anyone that doset have a ticket in, dont leave the entrence to the camping if you are alone on entrenceguard, and dont let the guest charge their phones by the entrence, only the employees are allowed to charge their phones there. But then, this guy gets a attack of some sort, and he fell to the ground and started shaking, and he couldent feel his legs and so, and we helped him up, and made a bed of some chairs and blankets, witch we then put him on. And after like... half an hour or so, he asked me if i could charge his phone for him, he had to call his girlfriend and tell her that he couldet make it becase of the attack. And I actually let him charge his phone there. My manger came and was really pissed, and asked whos phone it was. I told him It was Another employees.
0:31 LOL, that literally happened in my High School Spanish class. A kid walked in and asked how to say please stand away from the door and I told him it in Spanish because I went to Disney 2 weeks before that
Universal Studios also has undercover security. I've worked at turnstiles and as an usher for Blue Man Group. So here are some fun facts: Blue Man Group at City Walk doesn't work for Universal. There is front of house and back of house. Front of house is all the people you see. The ushers, the cashiers, etc. They are the ones that work for Universal. Back of house people, sound board, blue men, etc, all work for BMG. They just have a contract with Universal. Now let me tell you the drama that goes on there. I quit just 4 months ago. Walked out...but no matter how many smiles you see...a lot of employees hate eachother's guts. One of my leads was a total dick, and the place just got more, and more, and more strict while I was there. I was 1 step away from slashing his tires in the parking garage because there are no security cameras, except for where the sidewalks are. At turnstiles, don't think you can sneak your way in. You wouldn't think standing in one place and scanning tickets could be complex. I didn't either. But they have more than enough ways to know if your ticket is real or fake, when the last time you used it was, when you bought it, when it expires, what you can and can't do with it, how much it costs, if the ticket really is yours or if your friend gave it to you. They know ALL of this just from scanning it in that 4 second interaction between you and them. Also, often times employees will be in the back lot wearing casual clothes. Security doesn't stop to check people in casual clothes because half or more of the employees do it all the time. So if you're in the park, you could easily walk into the back lot (from the park, not the employee parking lot), and walk around acting like you know what you are doing, and you'd never get stopped. There are employee restaraunts back there too with some pretty good food for 25% off.
Shaggy08251993 Best upside by far....If only you could see the Brazilians. SO. MANY. BRAZILIANS....Especially during summer....So if you ever want major eye candy to last for weeks...yeah...
Shaggy08251993 OH...almost forgot the best part. For those of you that are Walking Dead fans...the gay guy (Erik, I think), the one that had his ankle broken in Season 5....his real name is Jordan, and he IS one of the 4 main Blue Men at Universal.
I worked there. Trust me. You don't know who they are because they're undercover. They dress up like completely like tourists. Hats, sunglasses, backpacks, water bottles. Everything. They're there. Saw them all the time at turnstiles because they have to show you their badge so that you let them through.
