Off topic, but when I was a kid, the bank my mum used gave out these paper circles...a round tuit...for all of us procrastinators 😂 I wish I still had it b/c, as I recall, it had some sort of motivational messaging on it. Thanks for bringing back this odd memory. ❤ I'm a native English speaker, but I still like your content to improve my vocabulary. I enjoy learning word history and the origins of phrases as well as studying foreign languages (Spanish and French so far). You're doing great work to help so many people learning English as a second language.

What's the difference between "Living with myself" vs "Living by myself"?
@desireelevesque634
@desireelevesque634 Месяц назад
Living BY myself is living alone without family or roommates. Living WITH myself is more like if I've done something terrible and feel a lot of guilt. I couldn't live WITH myself if I killed someone in a car accident.
@user-er3ri6sc3j
@user-er3ri6sc3j Месяц назад
@@desireelevesque634 So if someone did something where they couldn't live with themselves then they'll end up living by themselves?

Around is like a circle. 'Go around 'means to go through the circle area randomly. 'Go around to 'means you are going in a circle so you will go back to where you start, so you will start again. You know , every explanation should go around the core meaning of around-----circle

Please, Professor, how do you pronounce the word (sex) in the American accent? Because I noticed that Americans greatly extend the sound of the letter E in this word. For example, in the word Yes, the sound of the letter E in this word is not similar to the sound of the letter E in the word Sex, because the sound here is more extended than in the first word (Yes).

Valuable content. I heard once that we could also add a verb in its ING form after get around in sense of arrange time to do something. For instance, I need to get around finishing my assignment. Is that correct? Thanks in advance.

There is another common use of the phrase "to get around", and that's to sidestep or avoid something. For example "They require a permit, but I can get around it."
