He was never the best but I read under a video where someone said "his rise was like something out of a movie" and it's so true. Everything about it was so awesome, the Aldo fight was the cherry on top
'I don't see Urijah as a competitor, you know, he is just there' never fails to crumple me. It's just so flippant and casually dismissive of Urijah's entire existence lmao
They literally said that during the show. Way to repeat someone else’s opinion. Ok… your entitled to agree and repeat it, I’m just giving you some shit
The fact that Conor knew more than Urijah and Cody about TJ shows a lot. And looking back on the season with TJ and Cody proves he was right. Great stuff.
They assumed TJ was down, that he was a loyal soldier but TJ is neither loyal or at many times a clean fighter. TJ is all about TJ and he doesn’t give a FOOK what he has to do to be #1!! Normally I like that in my villains but I love MMA and I respect that these warriors put it all on the line so being a “little snake In the grass” is not at all what I want out of my fighters as a fan picking who to cheer and who to boo but yeah, Conor saw the snake for what he was. The others did not because they thought highly and respected TJ thinking he had morals but he had little to no morals! A real sleazy type of guy! Even hurting sparring partners in the gym to absolutely respecting no-one unless it suited him and his career in furthering it! A real ass-hat you wouldn’t want to wear
@@charlsyboisaldivar3386 They should be able to travel and train with whoever they want though. I don’t get why be held down by one specific gym instead of learning from as many places as possible.
Conor's energy is unmatched, just by watching this i felt motivated to go out and put in the hard work. This hungry Conor is such an inspiration, he embodies the winner mindset.
Hes NEVER been not hungry. His success came down to fighting smaller guys. He started fighting guys his size n we quickly found out hes a bitch. Shot vs Nate, jumped into a guilly vs Dustin n gave up his back to Khabib. One of the most OVER RATED fighters in UFC history.
Faber really killed Mcgregor with kindness. At some point Mcgregor started giving Faber advice and he was totally right about TJ. He even adviced Faber to fight him as it would be a good story.
The best part of that Conor vs. TJ interaction is so slick I think even most people in the room didn't get it. Conor says "Congratulations to you and your coach Duane on the win" and TJ, completely unaware of it, says "Appreciate it". Conor just looks to Urijah with a subtle smile in return. Dillashaw unconsciously confirms that Ludwig now, as a matter of fact, is his coach and not Faber. Conor knew exactly what he was doing and TJ walked right into it LMAO
Wow listening to Conor coach is actually super impressive. As someone who is trying to take up coaching for BJJ and grappling and is an active competitor, he says alot of advice I have been given as well as some stuff I never really heard too much about. Kudos to him, when he isn't talking shit or up to trouble, he really is a talented competitor and knowledgeable person.
@errands8253 well Artem was a teammate from home so I can't say I wouldn't be partial to him myself if I were in his shoes. Its easy for us to point fingers when we weren't in his scenario
So glad I got to see this entire era as it came up. Been a fan for a long time but I'll never forget the 2015-16 MADNESS of being a UFC fan. Lawler. Conor. Cruz. DJ. Luke/Weidman. Jones. Insane.
19:35 Ryan Hall constantly has that look like when you just wake up from a deep ass sleep and don’t know where you are or what’s going on around you for a few seconds.
That horrible time void where you can't work out your name, what galaxy you're in or how many legs out of the 12 you can feel beneath you are you actually really standing on.
The foreshadowing in this season is insane, Conor calling out TJ for being a snake, Urijah saying Conor has no idea about business and then goes on to sell his whiskey brand for 600 million, the crap that was spoken about him and his coaching style to then go on and win the show. The McGregor era truly was something special
Yeah he says he's going to get paid 90-100 million for a future fight (like one or two years later he made just that with the Mayweather bout) and that he hates disloyalty and to never bite the hand that feeds you, and after Conor totally went out to get Artem on the show even after he lost Artem ended up suing him etc. Interesting!
I respect the time when Uriah said “maybe you should start showing up for morning practice and be there for your guys this is their opportunity” and Conor goes “yeah”
The UFC is where it is thanks to McGregor. It's actually mind boggling how ONE man expanded and elevated the UFCs brand to where it is today. Granted Dana paved the way and allowed him to do it, but still. I feel sorry for younger or future fans who think the UFC has always been this huge entity. They went practically bankrupt to 4+ billion, sold, then were able to continue controlling the company same as before. Incredible
this is so interesting to look back on. I didn't have the means to watch this show for any of the seasons back in the day. but watching everything back is pretty wild while knowing how the last 7 years have played out.
I genuinely miss this Mcgregor era. Our parents had Mike Tyson, Muhammed Ali, and we had Connor Mcgregor. I truly believe when it's all said and done, he will be looked at in that type of legendary status. When he's 50 or 60 years old the tales of Mcgregor becoming the FIRST ever UFC fighter to hold the 2 belts at the same time. Also, don't ever forget " The double champ does what the FOOK he wants"! -The Notorious Connor Mcgregor
Conor actually cares about uriah faber. that's why was trying to tell him about TJ beeing a snake. he didnt like that faber got used like that so props to conor for actually having balls and telling the truth this early because we all know about the TJ and cody brawl later
Uriah looked so serious when he said “when I can grow a beard I’ll dress my age”. That look was the look of knowing you will never get to dress your age😂😂
TIM WELCH was in this season?! 🤣🤣 DAMN that sucks… it was such a clean liver shot though Jesus😵😵 Also just so sad seeing how close Artem and Conor were. Forget how real this brotherhood was.
I'm not the biggest Conor fan boy. I'm definitely not blind to having criticism to any fighter. But Artem turned out to be a huge rat in that situation. Tried to fuck Conor.
12:21 connor got a lot of flak for this speech but as he goes on you can tell he put a lot of thought into it and is trying his best to tell these guys the reality of the situation they are in. MMA is a brutal sport, a selfish sport, and it's a sport of ONE winner and one loser. The show is a platform and it's an opportunity and if you don't understand that then you are wasting it.
This Larone guy puts up the vids I want to see. I’m a very specific type of fan. I’ll miss big time PPVs but will watch most podcast episodes. Subbed for sure now after following this guy for half a year or so.
Mad to think that Conor had so much power that Dana changed the show so his teammate could join Team Europe after the qualifiers - we all know now that’s the only reason why Conor did the show. Also mad that they’re both no longer friends and up in court against each other 😂
Bro when McGregor was calling TJ the little snake in the grass I literally couldn’t breathe. 😂😂😂 And then for one of Fabers team members to say, “He wouldn’t be saying that if TJ was here”, like kid GTFOH. McGregor would say anything to ANYONE. 😂😂😂
The disrespect people give Conor kinda bothers me. I know he’s became kinda wild, he’s made mistakes for sure, and he tweets some really dumb shit. I’ll always remember the prime McGregor era, and how incredible it was. Kids today will never see another MMA fighter even come close to replicating what Conor was able to achieve. Double champ, 13 second KO to a man who hadn’t lost in 11 years (Aldo), went up a weight class & beat Eddie Alvarez with one of the greatest championship performances of all time, and he branded himself so well that he began making 10+ million per fight which is unheard of in MMA. The man changed the sport, and helped the sport grow on a scale that was never seen before. That is why Conor always gets my love & respect.
I think people forget all his losses are at a jump in weight too. People forget when he's fighting diaz thats two weight classes above him, although admittedly he was a big featherweight.
@@Colt.evans0824 You been hiding under a rock? Look at the disrespect he constantly dished out THROUGH THIS ENTIRE VIDEO! Not to mention the 47 page list of all the disrespectful things he's done over the years. I still like Connor, but I'm not going to pretend he's humble or respectful because he isn't. And I'm not saying he should be either.
Conor McGregor coaching TUF, good times, will never forget the near brawl that took place between him and Cody Garbrandt, epic stuff, excited to see what new moments take place on TUF 31 with Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler 👏👏👏👏
This era of McGregor was so fucking legendary godamn i loved his approach with being the head coach of the European team so real no buddy buddy bullshit
So weird to see how much Conor would do for Artem just for Artem to genuinely snake him. Betraying Conor's trust like that, after everything he done for you, is madness. All for a pile of cash that Conor had already offered to Artem.
@@TheBioBeast Artem tried to sue Conor for millions because Artem advised Conor to do the whisky deal. Conor offered a million to Artem at the time but Artem declined because they were good friends and Conor made Artem. Then Artem snaked Conor for money like 2 years later.
@@FaithRox Wow, I did not know that. Amazing to see what money can do to close relationships, as I was under the impression that they were best friends
@@TheBioBeast It's very bizarre from Artem. Like if the friendship had ended for whatever reason, to then go back and sue Conor after Conor offered cash that Artem declined... its very snake-like behaviour. Anyway, Artem isn't very popular around Ireland now.
It's even more infuriating because artem calling khabib a pussy and then denying it when confronted and surrounded is what started a really bad time for conor. Artem is a POS
The talk conor had was perfect. Saying did Tj bring Ludwig with him? Are they gonna take over the team/show? The whole team felt that just sitting there. Cody tried to push him and went backwards 5 ft
I miss this Conor this was when he was in that enlightened flow state when he was mystic Mac bring it back Conor come on your not too old yet brother win one more world title
Just seeing Conor with Artem here is really fucked up. Not only did he get Artem a chance to be on The Ultimate Fighter, but when Artem lost Conor went out of his way make sure Artem STILL got to be on the show.
If you actually believe that you are completely deluded, I’m not a fan of Conner but he made Urijah look stupid every time they sat in the same room. Urijah looks like a lost boy being bullied.
Connor is a genius of combat sports. He's spreading wisdom to his team. People forget that because of his crazy personality and because of the fact that he's a superstar. It ain't about that. He reached the top because he's a great fighter physically and mentally. What happened next is another conversation.
@@NotKimiRaikkonen wtf haha why do i feel like if he would’ve won that fight the trajectory of Sean’s career *potentially* could’ve took a completely different route… that’s why i was so shocked to see him there like holy sh*t he was fighting on the most biggest and important season of TUF if he would’ve had good performances his career and Sean’s career could’ve looked totally different but it all worked out Sean’s fighting for a title and he’s the head coach both making millions now wow..
@@sneakerhead2830 that was an elimination fight to get into the house. Timbo went on to go 0-2 in Bellator, safe to say he was destined to become a coach.
