@@sammydavidjr They also published the Terminator games (based on the first movie) to both the NES and SNES, which are bad according to AVGN! The Mega Drive/Genesis port of Terminator 1 game on the other hand was done by Virgin (the same guys behind the 4th best selling MD/Genesis game known as "Aladdin")!

Was this the 1st episode that ever happened? I've never watched every single episode. In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Turtles in Time & The HyperStone Heist) & Mortal Kombat II, Super Nintendo annihilated Sega Genesis.
@@Nicksolo85 I believe that Toy Story is at least one other instance of this happening, but I'd have to rewatch to be sure. I do think that Super Nintendo has gotten a higher number of perfect wins than Genesis so far. EDIT: Never mind, Super Nintendo won the graphics category for Toy Story. But there's probably other instances of perfect wins for Genesis that I'm just not remembering right now.
Nicksolo85 No I think this is the 3rd or 4th time that happened. The other times were Scooby-Doo and Mickey Mania, possibly others; but those are the only 2 I can think off the top of my head.
@@solarflare9078 probably because it was a rushed port and didn't take time for any optimization to adapt to the different hardware. I bet PB2 on Genesis was a build-from-ground-up project. Since NES already had a version of it, save time and money by just porting it over and improving.....almost nothing?
I got Paperboy 2 for SNES as my 2nd SNES game when I first received a Super Nintendo for Christmas. I had NO idea how superior the Genesis port was, I'm gonna check it out thanks to you guys.
Woah, there were a lot more points to discuss than what I expected! And the SNES version has a few solid arguments but it's otherwise so bad that it's still (yet) a(nother) win for the Genesis! The level variety with SNES was the *only* advantage. Sega killed it on this one. This definitely puts in check my assumption that SNES versions are better by default.
It's been a long time since I have seen a Console Wars episode. I don't know if you guys took a hiatus or if I'm not getting the reminder, but I'm glad to be watching again! You might remember me as the guy that gets kicked out of the ER from laughing and cursing (morphine is a hell of a drug) while watching your channel. I'm always in the hospital for surgeries and they always pump me full of morphine while handing me my phone...bad move! ;)
Well, if this Console Wars episode has taught me anything, it's that I really lucked out by getting a copy of the Genesis port 5 years ago. Also, can't wait for the Earthworm Jim 2 video. I've been wanting you guys to do that game for a while now.
Awesome episode. I learned A LOT about these two versions. I always hated this game because it was so ridiculously hard and it had some really strange inconsistencies. Now it all makes sense. I need to find the Genesis version. Problems solved! Thanks guys.

Never thought 'd see another clean sweep for Sega, but I'm very glad I did. That said, I'd still be willing to give the SNES version a try just for the haunted houses.
It takes a lot for me to laugh out loud, but the Dr getting hit with the hammer was perfectly executed. I’ve been really enjoying the non game comparison parts of the video a lot. I definitely feel like you could try to create a stand alone series with your characters.
@@knucklesechidna2124 I totally agree. But I'm afraid that nostalgia will have more weight in the decision. Like Ninja Gaiden: clearly, the first version is a better game on SMS (but Ninja Gaiden 3 on Nes is better then both).
Not a huge fan of 3, I actually prefer 1 and 2. But I do love the SMS version. Nobody ever talks about Shadow of The Ninja or Shinobi though. Ninja games rock!

Glad to help. My anxiety can really mess me up sometimes. I highly recommend meditating. Doesn't make the anxiety go away (nothing can) but it makes it easier to live with and manage.
