Oh my lord my anxiety was out of the roof watching Dina cook😂 the commentary from Sid and the alternatives from Dina was everything. Yes please do more of these videos!
I actually really enjoyed this video. You both seemed like yourselves and having fun again, haven't seen you guys do a video like that in a long time 😊
Dina: “didn’t need that” Sid: “well you did but you made it wrong” 😂 I’m dying. This was hilarious but also painful to watch LOL I love how Dina was winging it but ya can’t do that with biryani!!!!
Sid: The flavours are a bit mad. Dina: It wasn't my recipe. Actually Dina it was your recipe since you added ingredients that weren't part of the recipe. You can't substitute fresh coriander for dried coriander. Doesn't give the same flavour. But you get A for effort 😁
National bariyaani masalah has really basic instructions and tastes great providing you don't replace the ingredients. Sid was so funny...he was saying exactly what we were all thinking. Great seeing your determination and invention!
Suggestions for ramavlogs: Day 1: going for a walk in your local area to somewhere you’ve not been before Day 2: cooking iftar Day 3: day in the life while fasting Day 4: what you ate for sehri Day 5: talking about yours and sid’s ramadan traditions (either now or while growing up) Day 6: iftar mukbang Ngl all the days could be iftar mukbangs and chat and I would watch them all
Cardamon pods need to be opened up before you put them in the pot, to get the full flavour. Uncooked rice should be rinsed at least 3 times before cooking. (I also rinse Cardamon pods and bay leaves before using them).

Hey Dina! The frylight actually has alcohol in the ingredients! I was using it for ages before I realised. They actually have an alternative in Sainsbury’s which is their own brand and is also 1 calorie per spray! They have olive oil and different infused oils too!
And vinegar is soured wine, we still consume it though, because products containing a bit of ethanol does not intoxicate us, therefore it is halal for consumption.
Ethanol evaporates in about 80 degrees celsius so no matter how much wine or whaterever you through in the pot there won't be any booze in it as long as it has boiled.
I love winging it with a recipe, changing things up and making it more to my taste with the ingredients I already have, my cooking really improved since I stopped stressing about following the recipe perfectly, and actually started enjoying the cooking process when I used to hate it. With all that said, Dina's cooking is on a different level man. I know nothing about this dish, but the onion and the rice had me mad 🤣
Lovely video, and an great lesson on improvising. Tou have to do ramadan videos. Here are some ideas: 1) how to get your kids excited about ramadan. 2) iftar meal ideas/mukbang 3.) Suhoor meal ideas 4)ramadan decoration you have put up. 5 ) daily routine in ramadan. 6 )hacks that make your fast easier. Hope this helps xoxo
It's goods your trying, do not let critical comments put you off as it's apart of becoming a good cook. I used to get critical comments from my mum (she is lovely but too tired to teach because of teaching older sister), but when I learned from my big sister, it was soo much easier and became good after making things hundred times, talking every aunty and old lady out there, now even my pakistani in laws love my food, I have 5 sister in law's and 2 brother in law's and there cousins and aunties love it too. Even my husband likes it.
This was absolutely hilarious! Really enjoyed this video. Dina cooking and telling us what shes doing and Sid behind the camera narrating. 😂😂 More videos like this please.. or better yet make it a series please!!!
I enjoyed it and I could feel Sid’s anguish when he knew this was never going to be his ‘Pakistani’ biryani but loved the laid back attitude and you both being super chilled.
This was funny and cute to watch 😁 Definitely do more cooking videos. Ideas for Ramadan vlogs; How to keep children entertained from morning till evening. Maybe do thought of the day. Some advise to keep Muslim mums going during the fasting days. Your excersie time table during Ramadan.
The thing with Indian cooking, it follows pretty much the same steps. First is what they call a “tarka” which is oil, garlic, onion, chopped spicy green peppers or red chili pepper powder, garam masala, turmeric, salt, and black pepper. Tips for tarka is I just add all that into a food processor to make my tarka more finely ground, this also makes it so that the curry is thicker and it’s way easier than chopping everything. I add that tarka to the oiled pan. That is a normal tarka which happens in pretty much all time indian curries. The added spice is what makes it biryani or whatever else, and in this case with biryani it would Be black cardamom ground up in a pestle and mortar, saffron in warm milk that has been allowed to sit then mixed in yogurt and added mid way after the chicken is half cooked, dried or fresh cilantro 🌿at the end. Also you needed to add more oil because that will help from the bottom bit burning) but another thing I would do is change the pot to more of a very large saucepan so that the food would cook faster as there is more surface area. More width less height. If you don’t want to use more oil maybe try using nonstick pan to prevent burning bottoms. Otherwise u did well, I just feel like the recipe you followed was not very good which is why I told u a few tips. Lemon is not commonly used, but I bet it was good regardless. The chicken and tomatoes you added was good the way it was, if anything regular chicken would have been more authentic than lemon garlic but good overall. You should make biryani more often, this was a very good first try, the next time you will do even better.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video 😆. Next time just get Shan masala packet and follow the instructions makes life easier. Also soak rice minimum 30 min before adding in ♥️
i LOVED this video 💗💗 for ramavlogs you can do more cooking videos and a video all about your cats (like when you got them, how old they are, their personalities)! i don’t have 30 ideas but i would genuinely enjoy daily sit down/chat videos
Tbh I absolutely love your iftar Mukbangs where you just chill, eat and talk about all sorts! Its so funny and definitely easier on you as opposed to doing extravagant video ideas whilst fasting which could be tiring on you. Ideas: 1) You and Sid could cook iftar together - would be hilarious 2) Short sehri mukbang cus if you're anything like me you probably just wanna be done with the food and go back to sleep 😅 3) Ramadan food shop/come grocery shopping with me 4) Iftar Mukbangs that you could do every few days to make the commitment of vlogging easier as you won't have to think of too many ideas 5) Chill Storytimes/Q&As after iftar 6) Family vlog Hope this helps! 💚
Hey maybe you can do 1.different cuisine as in 1 country's cuisine daily during ramadan to spice it up get sid to do some and you some then compare. 2. Really liked your ask sid and dina made me learn so much about choosing the right partner and what to expect. This can be ideas on when you don't have time or don't want to cook.
This video is so funny! I would 1000% watch zero prep with Dina! What’s funny is I can’t cook/won’t cook either and I didn’t see a problem with your instructions until I read the comment section 🤣🤣🤣
Love these types of videos! Ideas for Ramavlogs: - Cooking with Sid for Iftar - Daily life vlog - How to go about getting the kids to fast - Zero prep with Dina 😁 - Suhoor routine - Iftaar Mukbang - Trying snacks from different countries - Clean with me - Eid shopping vlog
A few ideas: 1. create a ramadan advent calendar 2. suhoor or iftaar mukbangs 3. a day of ramadan crafts for the kids 4. heaps of preparing for iftaar or cooking videos 5. how does your family celebrate eid and eid preps 6. eid decoration/setting up the house for eid 7. eid gift ideas 8. eid gift hunting (going to stores and finding the gifts) 9. Creating a dish without a recipe with Sid 10. Q&A 11. Trying to make a dish from a different culture 12. A day in the life as a cat 13. Your family traditions during ramadan 14. Goals you want to achieve this ramadan (perhaps make a checklist and everyday go through and explain what you have completed and what not) 15. A typical day in the life video Btw every single vlog doesn't have to be something spectacular, just a normal daily vlog will be the best.
Dina you NEED to do a cooking series like the sofa series with sid u did b4. This was hilarious esp when u threw the rice in the pot and ignored sid and the recipe ! I would love to see more like this its gold ❤❤❤
Hey Dina Yes please to the daily Ramadan vlogs! I would love to see updates on the cats (feel like we haven’t seen Choji and Chip in a while) and would wanna know more about Chakra Alsoooo any advice on home Reno would be great too!

Dina not washing the rice gives me stress. Trying to stay calm. Someone pls tell me if that brand/kind of rice doesnt need washing or else I will lose it.
You are very lucky because you are not pakistani Dina so he finds this cute and shit 🤣🤣 Otherwise believe me 9 years in my husband would not be laughing. I couldn’t cook anything before I got married but after I moved away I got so depressed I couldn’t cook and had to eat disgusting meals I made lol so I pushed myself to learn the basics. It’s taken me 8 years to finally say I can cook well now and most meals.
