The mayor and city manager in Rohnert Park, California, say they are investigating an incident where an unidentified officer drew his gun on a man recording him.
Old School Blues Player How many unarmed people were killed by police in 2018? I don't know the figure, but I'll bet my next month's pay it was a HELL of a lot more than 150. Police officers have a shitty, terrible job, I totally agree. They're also compensated piss-poorly for it. Make 'police officer' a decent, respectable career that people can aspire to, and you'll start being able to select the right applicants instead of having no choice but to hire the sadists, weirdos, and roid-raging psychos that either couldn't get into the military (another profession GRIEVOUSLY underpaid, and another sad failure to those who work the hardest in our nation) were made fun of or abused their entire lives, or are just plain evil, because precious few sane, decent human beings are willing to do such a scary, terrible, dangerous job for the pathetic wages offered to them. No one hates cops more than I do, but it has nothing to do with the principle of police. It's 100% the type of people who almost always perform that particular job, and we can change it with votes and the stroke of a pen, overnight. I should mention, all you fucking sidewalk lawyers 'exercising your rights' (regardless of whether you do indeed know said rights), filming and antagonizing a very powerful class of people we already know to be largely unstable and armed and posting your 'courageous exposes of the tyranny of the 'man'' are far from faultless in this plague yourselves. Police that shouldn't really be police officers view you as a direct threat, and it's making it worse and might very well get you killed.
@@troyevitt2437 I can’t argue with that, you are absolutely right as I’m sure in an officer’s position it could be scary when the person you are interacting with has his hand in his pocket. But when the guy is backing away from you after he emptied his pockets and his hands are up I think then it would be appropriate to probably put the gun away. But I’m definitely no lawyer and don’t know what the rules are but it was scary seeing how the cop acted
i fucking LOE that. it will never get old. it's like telling a 13 year old to give themselves a punishment they deem fit XD "okay mommy, i won't get on xbox for one hour.. that playstation on the other hand..."
@@troylee5273it is not against the law to record on public property. And just the fact that this officer took out his gun because of that, he should be let go and under investigation. He was not doing his job. Whats next? Shooting a kid for riding a bike?
@@troylee5273 If you are a pussy, then don't be a cop. This cop is a pussy. He does not have the correct temperament for this job. If you are an officer who defends this gentlemen then you too are a pussy.
Not all police are like this! Some are corrupt as seen in this video, and some others, but most police are good, and they just protect their civilians. So people who lose respect for all police, are just dumb creatures.
@Shane Johnson: If he's willing to do so while being filmed. I'd say that he's done it before enough to be comfortable doing so. Possibly even shot someone and got away with it. But his actions also put other officers in danger! The next officer could be shot, because this moron violated someone's rights and they decided to do something about it. As a police officer, you're actions have long range consequences that you must consider.
He should never have even made contact with the guy filming. No reasonable suspicion of any crime whatsoever. Cops like this give the good cops and heroes a bad name. He clearly does not have the temperament to be a peace officer.
@@AqitoCNatoy 😂😂 there is at least 68 people that don't agree with your logic and maybe 2 that agree with u over my comment so yeah I'm pretty sure we know who has the mental issues 😂😂😂
Even though he really didn't do something insanely wrong. He should maybe not have pulled up the gun and that's it. Like that's fucking it? The guy who filmed was acting like a jackass too? "I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG", well too fucking bad. What if you look alot like someone who did something wrong? What if you're not aware of a law you're breaking? What if it's a check they have to do in the neighborhood? JUST fcking listen to the cops sometimes.
Wrong police safety protocol. He could be shot or stabbed by a hidden weapon. He was doing what every cop should have done when someone doesnt take their hand out of their pockets. Dumbass didnt want to take his hand out of his pocket he faced the consequence
There is nothing more despicable and sickening than someone who abuses authority to impose their will on another human being, for the purpose intimidation and control of someone. It is so sad and it turns my stomach to witness someone do this. They are attempting to stand between you and God, the only true authority. It is embarrassing to see them act like a fool in front of the whole world and their family and loved ones. Don’t they see that we are exposing them to the whole world. How are they not ashamed to be such a parasite in front of millions of viewers and loved ones. Nothing worse
If you served in the military and took the oath… this is the domestic enemy the oath is talking about… it always blows my mind that you don’t see more veterans groups speaking out about things like this.
It's not illegal to film cops. They're public servants on taxpayer's dime. If they say it's illegal, they're wrong. If you're on public property or on your own private property, it's legal.
If a cop ever uses the term constitutionalist and crazy guy interchangeably like this @ 1:15, they should be be fired. Any cop that can't uphold the constitution does not deserve to serve the public.
Hahahahaha Jacy... How is the cop right... Cop was literally driving around and gets out of his car because the guy is recording him... I'm all for cops but there was never even a reason for him to get out of his truck. Let alone pull his weapon out.
Jacy Borreaux so can I walk up to you and tell you to get your hands out of your pockets and then proceed to pull my gun out? You have to understand the guy didn’t do anything illegal so the cop has no right to tell him to do anything!
Jacy Borreaux he did not have to get out of his police car. He intended to intimidate this guy no matter what. A cop needs a legal reason to confront a civilian and needs to site that reason the moment he contacts you.
@@halalfr if I fealt threatened I wouldn't have my hands in my pockets The policeman wouldn't. Make a very good boxer keeping his hands in his shorts lol Could you just imagine genuinely being innocent and in prison watching this nonsense trial stop it Just stop it please
@Zeek Banistor bud I feel like you don't understand. Every department had use of force requirements. Drawing your weapon is a use of force. That said that can only be done in certain situations, and this ain't it.
@Zeek Banistor I think you're a troll who knows nothing about US law. You're talking to a former LEO, so I know what I'm talking about. You clearly do not. Reasonable suspicion means that the officer suspects wrongdoing and is related to SEARCH. Not drawing weapons. You are way off base, bud.
Because the guy is acting extremely upset AND has his hand in his pocket. The cop should always expect the worse. How does he know this guy doesn't have a gun?

Fired for being a trump supporter, can't you tell, he asked, " What are you, some kind of constitutionalist ? " Which by the way, is not a word... Cop showing his Confederate leaning
I’d say this is one of those rare times where the neighbors had a right to arrest that cop using deadly force. You can’t just threaten to execute someone because you don’t like them. Unreal.
"Are you some kind of constitutionalist?" Obviously, the officer isn't. He should learn about an individual's constitutional rights before being allowed to continue in his job capacity.
CharlesB Thank you for raising that point. Yes, here in Britain we have very, VERY high crime rates. Mostly relating to drugs and knife attacks. I'm joining the police when I graduate so I can help reduce the crime in this country.
Travis Rogers Oh boo hoo, what did the big bad establishment do to you? Give you a parking ticket? Told you not to smoke indoors? Took away something you were illegally possessing? When a police officer becomes that paranoid of a citizen, then it's time for retirement. He is a danger to his department and the people he is suppose to protect.

In Texas, they're trained to assume everyone is a member of the "Republic of Texas", a loose Confederation of Nut-jobs who think that the State of Texas joining the Union was illegal, and they still think they live in the Wild Wild West. They accuse everyone, especially those trying to uphold their Own Constitutional Rights in Court, like Pro Se litigants who represent themselves, or those trying to obtain Government records thru Statutory procedures (like when they make "Open Records" request), or when trying to serve a public official in any Government facility, like at a Court. It's a standard procedure taught at all LEO academies and training facilities, especially in Texas. Reminds of the time I was at college doing homework on my laptop in the hallway and someone called the police on me for being a "suspicious" person. I was surrounded at gunpoint from both directions. That same student called the police on me a total of 6 times and each time I was just working on assignments like anyone else. As soon as that student saw me anywhere, he would whip out his phone and call the police. After the first time the police figured out what was going on and only confronted me that one time. I still have some PTSD over that series of events.
Christian Karnavar There are people that believe that the articles of confederation still hold power. As such they describe themselves as free citizens or some bs
"Declined to arrest him?" This is why I hate corporate media, they always support abusive police behavior. There was NO crime and no reason for that tyrant to engage, much less arrest.
Imagine just drawing a device intended for an absolute last resolution to a problem that wasn’t even there in the first place, and continue to hold it by your side? Thank god legitimate reform is here
So the cop admits he confronted the guy just because he pulled his camera out… but then his response is to pull a gun out? No simple “hey why are you filming me”?
His response to the guy refusing to pull his hand out of his pocket is why he drew the gun, which is 100% reasonable excuse for police to draw. Guy coulda just pulled his hand out and this would never have happened and almost certainly would have resulted in the scenario you think should have happened.
@@TheTwister22 First, living with cops doesn't grant you supreme knowledge. American? Second. Where in the video had the cop decided he was committing an offense? Cop came up, asked the man to remove hands from pockets, man refused, belligerently. Suspicious, justification then to draw firearm to a potentially deadly situation. If you live with cops, ask them how fast someone can draw something on someone and seriously hurt them.
@@fen3311 ? The cop escalated the situation insanely quick. Got out of car, gave an unlawful order, pulled out his gun. You think that this is okay behavior from the police?
Because he had a suspicious guy in front of him with one hand in his pocket, losing control and failing to communicate and being rude, pretty easy to understand if you use your brain! He had his weapon ready to protect your baby from growing up with stupid people like that.
Having you hand in you pocket is a crime? This officer is way out of line, there is never an excuse for drawing your weapon because because someone is "being rude" This is basic firearm safety stuff.
Jacob Jackson If you are gonna raise children, be smarter than that, you watched 1 min video and did not even witness the beginning. 1. We don’t know why the officer was in the area. Could have had a call about a suspicious person. We don’t know. 2. After 13 years in law enforcement, I’ve learned you never know what someone is going to do when approached. The first thing you do when talking to anyone that has their hands in their pockets is ask them to remove them. Then you ask if they have any weapons. 3. Why was this guy filming anyway. We don’t know. 4. When asked to remove his hands, he immediately got belligerent. Instead of cooperating. 5. Idiots like this get police officers killed. 6. "your station is corrupt" This idiot showed, that this was an encounter from a rogue filmmaker seeking RU-vid clickbait defaming the name of the police. Here is why the officer had his gun in his hand: 19. Defendant David Rodriguez emerged from the police vehicle, placed his hand on his firearm and walked towards Plaintiff, stating "Hey. You gotta take your hand out of your pocket." 20. Plaintiff Don McComas responded, “No. I haven’t done anything.” The result of the investigation was, guess what it was, yeah, no violation of human rights! Be smarter....for your kid......
If the officer has a reason to be approaching a Citizen he's required to inform the citizen. Filming a police officer is not a crime and should not be treated like one. Police don't have the right to tell citizens what to do, and if people have loaded weapons around me I tend to be less than calm I never said this guy wasn't a jackass but guess what, it's not illegal to be a jackas This police officer was also recording the citizen, must've been a real serious crime right? No he was a butt hurt old asshole using his badge as a means to be intrusive. Having different ideas of how this should have played out doesn't make you smarter than me.
Jacob Jackson The cool thing with law is there is a simple distinction between right and wrong. After all that you still prefer to be manipulated by a well thought cut video. I guess you know better than the state. You even say no, when you know, why the officer pulled his gun. You are a lost case, bye!
BRUH THE MAN HAD HIS HAND IN HIS POCKET DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY OFFICERS HAVE LITERALLY DIED BECAUSE A GUY HAD A GUN IN HIS POCKET? The officer has literally no clue what that man had, and before you say "He should have tazed him" Just look up "Failed tazer deploy" those things fail way to many times.

Police in the US are just High school graduates football linebackers, Police in Germany are college graduates with degree and further training as law enforcement officers, you can totally see the difference. Police Officers in US don’t look for IQ but brute force.
Yeah he’s a real cop. Cops act like it’s against the law to give them lip or talk back. Like parents who abuse their power these cops will take it to the extreme over nothing. However instead of getting grounded you get dead.
@Sylvester Banini even better when the entire department pretends to investigate and says they did nothing wrong. Or even when they are fired or placed on paid leave they just get the same job two towns over. Fucking joke.
Yeah and when a police officer says take your hand out of your pocket you cant just say no there was a guy six months ago that shot and killed when the suspect didn't take his hand out of his pocket
For real though. The cop was instigating not investigating. The man wasn't doing anything wrong and no one reported a crime. There was no reason at all for the cop to even be there.
The cop really said “you need to relax” even though he’s the one who literally pulled a gun on the dude for filming. The cop needs to take his own advice and relax
Kingjoker8732 and? just because he has his hands in his pocket? he took out his key and phone and the cop was just throwing claims around and the cop knows he doesn't have no weapons
Bulls eye. Exactly my thoughts. I don’t live in the USA, but I watch videos like that and ask to myself “wtf... cops pulling up guns for no reason, this isn’t supposed to be what USA stands for”
Uhh man, I dunno about that. CNN cut down the video, but it starts with the man walking up to the car with his hand on his pocket, if a person won't take their hands out of their pockets when told to by a police officer, the police officer has a right to get scared, as this is what could very easily happen. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-884W4l3eoQg.html
