That mannequin in the background, before I discovered J Dawg's RU-vid Channel that was always the face of HHR for me. Whenever I placed an order, I always envisioned it was fulfilled by that demon somewhere in a cave or a volcano or something lol
Damn kudos to him for still touring at his age, I am 50 and I can understand the health issues he was speaking of. I have been a fan since Sinister Slaughter came out. Damn it J-Dawg, that interview was too short !
The guy one minute in noticing the camera and backing off immediately had me dying. Didn't wanna be another offender of interrupting an interview from the dog LOL
Dennis's drumming on that holy fuck! I still listen to that record like twice a month, just for the drums. It's a goddamn shame he doesn't get mentioned more in the "greatest metal drummers ever" conversation
I met him when they came to San Antonio. He was a super cool guy. I asked him when they were gonna reissue the earlier albums and he said soon. Sure enough they came out like a month or two later. Picked them right up.
Legendary. This band is super super underrated in this one way: dynamic musical skill. If that is even a thing. Idk but man these guys are masters of the art of music.
@@kmartgoth8313 lol oh makes sense, I have a 50$ Walmart Samsung phone that unfortunately doesn't take pictures or videos any more. Also technology speaking i could be considered a ret@^d \m/
Great video as always, first saw them back at Milwaukee Metal Fest 2000 and seen them a whole bunch of times ever since, saw them last Xmas and got to BS with them for a bit before the show all 3 guys are some of the most friendly people in metal.
Macabre a damned good band. I own everything up to and including Murder Metal. Damned good song writing; especially on early albums. Dahmer a brilliant satire metal album about a sicko. "Oompa loompa doopity dee; he worked at the Ambrosia Chocolate Factory"
new to the channel.. great raw content. i've seen macabre many times in okc, those guys are so approachable, corporate especially. drinking a couple beers along with great conversation. the real deal goddammit.
Cool interview. Macabre guys seem like they know what they are really talking about when it comes to serial killers lol. My favorite Macabre album is Gloom soley for the rhythm section on it.
Macabre are the most underrated band in the underground. Was thankful to see them when they toured Sydney, Aust in around 2011/12. Just discovered your channel. Keep up the good work.
Ed Gein was the ultimate. It would take 2 hours just to make a list of his human skin creations. There was a young man named Richard Chase in Sacramento in the 1970s that believed that all his organs were upside down, and he also engaged in some extremely bizarre behavior I can't remember what his name was but I believe . He killed and ate 6 people, and did many strange things. There was a fellow by the name of Waylon Scott who ate some woman's Intestines in Cave Junction, Oregon around 1998
Awesome interview. Hail Macabre 🤘A concept album about Ed Gein or Albert Fish sounds awesome. In another year it'll be a quarter of a century since Dahmer was released. It's time.
Macabre is in my top three death metal bands I will never get sick of them and I like how they're so different from everybody else long time fan here ☕🚬🔪
Best interview yet J Dawg! Macabre are the most underrated band ever, Lance said that they started in 1981 but Dennis the Menace is only 52 years old, that would make him 10 years old in 81? I would love to see HHR put out a reissue of the Shit List demo, any possibility of that happening?
@@ianswift3521 hahahahaha 😆 oops im a homo poooooooosssssssssser . . . Cause I'm not gay , just unintentionally impersonated one gay poooooooosssssssssser \m/
Under the Blade is heavy as shit for 1982 standards in its original form though. but the 85 remix IS absolute buffoonery. the OG has a different band photo and a blue TS logo. it's on youtube if you look hard enough
Rheumatoid Arthritis is bad. That sucks! I'm glad it isn't messing his hands up. It is crazy that Macabre has been around with the original members for a long as they have. 🤘😀
I happened to catch them at MMF & I'm still pissed that they cut their set short. They only had 2 songs left. I get the time constraints but come on!!!
Can't wait to see Macabre in Feb. My first experience was a drunken blur like 5-6 years ago. Nonetheless, this is a solid interview. 🤘🤘 Oh yeah, aware it's been pointed out...while focusing on the interview...those Canoes in the background are fucking insufferable!
Everything I’ve seen of Ed Grin’s lamps/couch/chairs/skin belts etc were recently made props and reproductions. Curious where one can see the actual stuff he made?
@@ianswift3521 I became friends with Katon Pena of Hirax when I was 13. I guess I looked older 😅 and nuclear assault didn't mind me tagging along since I was in mix...... Damn I got around as a kid!!!!!
???? Yo J Dawg! Just discovered your channel 2 weeks ago first time commenter. Thanks for being a part of my daily routine. What do u think about Crucified Mortals? I know thats your bros band, Converted by Decapitation is a banger goddamn it! Also what do you think about the reunited Cryptic Slaugter lineup? CS is from my hometown always loved that band. Cheers brah
Crucified Mortals is great! Cryptic Slaughter with Bill Crooks on vocals rules! J Dawg usually doesn't check the interview videos for questions, so you should bring this up on his next regular video he posts.🤘😀
Did Corporate mention that he didnt write the last album but that other guitar player he knows did? I hope thats not true, I love macabre, and would hope only they wrote their own music.
J-Dawg: Fuckin LOVE Macabre and horns-up salud for supporting the most technically, yet never-too-technical, Death-Grind band in the world, Macabre. I always say just because you sound like cookie monster does not make it Death Detal. Macabre, lyrically & internally, is the true AF definition of Death Metal.
even they had a different drummer in their very earliest days... Dan Mitchell. Frank Beard is only the OG drummer in a studio album sense, he HAS been there since the debut to be fair though
Disincarnate Dreams Of The Carrion Kind is criminally underrated. I was aware of it when it came out but slept on it until a few years ago. If I could slap my younger self I would
20 years ago I'd have gone with the Dave McKean cover art DISINCARNATE album. EASILY. for all of my teens and twenties possibly. but for the past 8 years or so I say Ecocide. I'm glad it finally got an LP edition I was able to pick one up last year.
I love Macabre, but his live vocals are really bad now. Not just the high shrieks, but also the growls. It doesn't make me happy to say it. Just being honest. A part of me thinks they should consider bringing in a vocalist just for live shows. Someone who could do a good imitation.
