@@Xeroforte fuck it seems my sarcastic quip about how offended people get over the mere statement of slurs and how Carlin's bit going over a litany of slurs and making the a similar point to his famous "7 words you can't say on television" would cause the modern day easy-moralizing progs/wokesters to have a hissy fit and see him de-platformed reads like I actually support their censorious BS. So let's clear this up. Carlin calling Eddy Murphy and Richard Prier **cencored**s at the end as the final punch line is masterful and hilarious. So for ME it aged well and is even funnier today. But I KNOW that joke could not be said today and loads of people would get butt hurt. In short: Poe's Law bitch

Saw him live three times. Shared an elevator with him in my 20's in the early '90's. He was staring straight ahead and I couldn't help it. I blurted out "Hey, I'm sorry. But thank you. You've made me laugh and think since forever. And now I'll shut up." His reply was typical Carlin: "I'm glad you think", gave me a wink and then got off the elevator. My brush w/ greatness. He was the Frank Zappa of comedy. The world needed more Frank Zappa's and the world needs more George Carlin's. RIP to both.

Philosophers have often used comedy to get their points across. I have a bunch of talks by Alan Watts, they make you think and are also funny. One of my favorite Socratic quotes was 'a good marriage makes you happy, a bad marriage makes you a philosopher'. Philosophers need to use humor in order to keep from being executed by the humorless power structures they see.

RIP George. He told shit like it is, and he never hesitated to try to show humanity where they fucked up. I love your reactions! That is a step back to where we should be. Humanity should wake up. We need to stop with the "soft language" and we need to remember that we are supposed to love each other, right? I grew up watching this super intelligent man who dropped out of school at the age of 14. I was actually born on the AF base he was stationed at... 40 years later... in Louisiana. He had a message. He was remarkable, and few men can stand out as much as he did. Fred Rogers from Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, Jordan Peterson now, Morgan Freeman, Will Smith, and some others that my tired mind cannot think of right now, but seriously! You guys seem to me like you get it. There IS something wrong with the world today. It's us. We seemed to have forgotten that the past is something to learn from, not to keep dwelling on. The only way to fix everything that is wrong... is to say, "yep, that happened, that sucks that the people before us didn't fucking know better." But we do. Don't we? Did everyone that died and suffered do so in order for us to be good to each other die in vain? I fucking hope not. The only way to bring humanity back is to stop the bs and work from this day forward. That's what George taught too. We have become a politically correct nightmare of social media blindness. I'm a gen xer. We learned some things growing up that the internet bljnded our own children to. You guys are great. I'll sunscribe for sure... keep growing, keep loving and laughing... and keep growing something positive, because the world needs that. We can't take much more hate.

My all time favorite comedian. I remember watching him on HBO in the late 80s and all through the 90s. Though George makes a lot more sense when you realize he was good friends with a philosopher by the name of Robert Anton Wilson who was this counter culture philosopher who would incorporate comedy into what he was saying to get points across. George was a comedian who thought along the save wavelength who would incorporate philosophy into his comedy. They were similar but opposite but when you realize they hung out and talked you see where each one got certain aspects of their body of work from. Not too dissimilar from the the old pulp fiction writers Robert E. Howard and H.P. Lovecraft who you can see as time goes on more and more of the others style appearing in their works.

The best thing I can say about this channel is you help me to forget about today's world. At least for a little bit. I mean we live in a country now where everyone is so quick to be offended. I just watched a video where a bunch of white liberals were literally crucifying Dave Chappelle for offending them. This country is going crazy with political correctness. I put on your channel and I forget about those problems. Thank you.

@@TerranigmaQuintet there's a difference between being mad at something and being offended by words. I don't think the right is offended by words anymore. Literally in the 90s it was the opposite the right wing Christians were the snowflakes. Damn I guess there really was a party switch lol.

Carlin makes you laugh, then he makes you think, then he makes you laugh some more and think some more. It's like taking your mind to the gym or health spa - clear out the crap, see the world afresh and laugh. Great comedian and philosopher.

@@heatherjohnson2620 It's quite a bit more complicated than that, and no, introduction of vaccinations is not what causes viruses to mutate and does not cause them to get stronger. "And here we are." Not sure what you even mean with that? Here we are what? There have been viruses for billions of years before humans even existed. They have always mutated. Welcome to reality.
