As a black man, I have never seen anyone navigate the minefield that is race jokes better than Andrew. Dude goes hard into the joke but makes the group being joked about feel better about it by dropping some actual knowledge about the subject to show that he isn't just some ignorant bas**rd. The bit about the civil rights movements he mentioned not being in chronological order... I feel like that eased it up a bit for some folks.
I was in that crowd! This is NYC, a massive hub of SJWs and the like. At first, it was a bit like breaking the ice. You could feel the tension for the first few jokes as he was easing into it, but then he started doing his stuff and easing into the zingers and not even 20mins later the whole crowd was dying of laughter during and between the jokes. The set shows you how Andrew’s approach to comedy is a craft that we all need to remove the social tensions we all have.
@@JoJoTheOtter Most skilled comedians are very, very, very good at breaking a tough crowd. It's what sets them apart from the comedians that always goes to places that will "support" them even if they're bombing.
This man has probably done more to heal and mend social rifts than most any other because of just that: helping get the stick outta people’s asses and getting them to laugh at themselves and each other again.

I’ve never seen this fella before, but what I like the most here on top of him being genuinely funny is that he doesn’t really endorse or condemn any camp or side; he just makes funny jokes. Too many “comedians” simply tell a tribe what they want to hear to get “clapter” and praise for saying the right things and condemning the right things. How refreshing
IDK, the only protest that got any media coverage was at the capitol, so I say that was the most effective protest.
