I used to be put off by this show a good while ago because they had a pretty big focus on snark and sass and mockery. Then 2016 happened and I needed to up my dose of snark and mockery in a huge way to just stay sane. Now I'm rolling around in the sty and the mud with everyone, loving it.

I liked TYT and MR back when I was an angry conservative kid in college (who unfortunately did something really dumb in 2016). I saw these channels as "real liberals" who would actually be fun to engage with, and acted in good faith, and because they were smart/funny I could take their ribbing my views not personally.

Please don't identify boomers as conservatives. I'm 74 years old and far to the left of most Gen Z's I know. About 1/3 of us were counter-culture radicals when we were young and remain on the left. The 2/3 of boomers who are right wing dip$h!ts were way behind the curve back in the 60s and 70s, just as they are now. Identifying a whole demographic as one monolithic thing is the definition of bigotry, whether it's in relation to age, sex, race, sexual orientation, or whatever else. Remember it was boomers who filled up the ranks of the civil rights movement and fought in the streets to bring the Vietnam war to an end. I was in the middle of that, and I was tear gassed, pellet grenaded, and jailed at the Battle of Seattle when I was 52 years old. I'm waiting and hoping for the current young generations to get off their tails and take up the fight with anything like the passion that my old comrades brought to the barricades. We see from polling data that young people have good political and social attitudes, but the vast majority of them are not DOING anything to bring those attitudes into power.

I agree that Sam does have many advantages, but Vaush has the stronger voice and would completely melt Prager’s mind with edgy material that leans into Prager’s biggest fears. Prager is someone who thinks calling someone a Marxist communist is a vicious attack to put liberals on the back foot. A debate with Vaush would be like a nightmare where you punch a monster that enjoys your attacks. The fact that Vaush is young would only make Prager’s impotence look worse.
