Cowboy Studio Flash Triggers Review
In this video I review the cowboy studio flash triggers NPT04. These are not professional triggers but for a beginner strobist or anyone wanting to do off camera flash photography on a budget can use these cheap triggers.
Equipment used in this video.

I have been using this triggers for about 3 years. I have 4 receivers and 2 transmitters and can fire all 4 at the same time. Having 2 cheap transmitters I can assign channels to specific triggers and just swap the transmitters to activate or disable particular receivers. It works with my Photogenic monolights too. This toy never missed fired unless batteries are drained. I have set this things up stair between a solid structures and able to fire from down stair.

Thanks for the suggestion on these Cowboy Studios triggers. I just bought a set for my Nikon D7000 & SB-600. Works great. And I even shot my first Manul Flash pic! :) I would highly recommend these triggers. Easy to set up and use. Thanks again. :)

I also have a set of these triggers for over 2 yrs and there very reliable not one misfire, also have Yongnuo 603s which do misfire on occasions the only reason I purchased them because they have a hot shoe mount for my SB-800. Shooting completely manual you don't need any bells and whistles.

Hey there this video is very helpful particularly when you said the cons of the unit. I have another question about the unit. Will it still work if Im using wireless remote shutter or camranger to trigger? Thanks

i use a canon 7D and have the same Cowboy Studio Triggers,,, and it does not work on live view mode, I tried everything to make it work and could not get it to work in live view. Not sure if Nikon has the same problem, other then that it works great. Keep up the great tips.

Will these triggers work with the Nikon D7000 & SB-600? I wanted to get the Yongnuo 603 N3 but I heard that it's not compatible with the SB-600.... doesn't wake up the flash. And how would you compare the Yongnuo 603 with this NPT04? Thanks for another great video. :)

I have a yun no version of the canon st-e2 - it was about $100, and works with ttl...

the D5100 is CLS comptatible with eather 2 SB700 or SU800 as the commander unit what the D5100 doesn't have is the build in commander funcion in the pop up flash but if you use 2 SB700 on as the comander on the camera and the other as the slave or remote unit then you have CLS or you can use the SU800 as your comander unit and use your SB700s as remote

you can always set to the flash to never go to sleep in the costume setting menu

Hi, will this work in D5100 and SB700?,. I'm actually a newbie and thinking of buying my first speedlight (SB700),.but when the sales guy said that D5100 is non-CLS, I can't control something in the flash remotely,.I can't understand what he's saying, can you please help me regarding that,.I'm planning to focus more on off-cam photography, but when I came to know that D5100 is non-CLS, I lose my interest again,.can u please give me some alternatives for off-cam photography using D5100,. thanks!

you say that they would would not be for professional work....why is that when they work fine? I have been using mine for over a year and they do just fine and have not lacked in performance

I don't think these triggers have the TTL capabilities of the Pocket Wizards. So, you would have to set the flash up manually. At least that is how I understand it.
