This Saturday I desperately needed a slow and easy day where I was gentle with myself and read a few books that allowed me to take the space that I needed to do so. And I was lucky enough to come across just the right book at just the right time.

It's one of those books that HAS to come to you just when you need it! Unfortunately this date-guy showed me that there are absolutely people who would not agree with it at all. Which is totally fine, people are different. But my kind of people like a lil mossy robot and tea monk wholesomeness

Oh dang yes, people who judge you for not having huge goals are EXHAUSTING. like excuse me? not everyone wants to be stressed all the time. i think it is a wonderful thing to strive for peace. My dream is having an assortment of fun chicken breeds, a frog pond, a cat or two and a yarn / fiber art room.

But as someone whose favorite animal are the fluffy cows, would you be averse to me bringing you a fluffy cow as a "you are living your dream"-house warming gift..? Totally cool if you are a MONSTER that HATES FLUFFY COWS (*calls police*) P.S. Please tell me the chickens with the afro and the ones with the fluffy feet are on the list 😭

I look forward to your videos every weekend. I love the way you talk about books. I haven’t read A Psalm for the Wild Built but I will have to add it to my reading list. I recently read Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop and really enjoyed it, it was a cozy read that dropped many gems. Also, nothing wrong with taking pleasure in the small things. Thank you! ❤ The library unfortunately beat me to getting to finish Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop. It wasn't a read that I wanted to rush. So hearing that you enjoyed it, I may just go ahead and buy it so I can move as slowly as I want. I don't always read these cozy books that give that "warm hug" feeling, but whenever I come across a good one I am always so upset at myself for not doing so more often! Do you have any other recs that give off the same vibes? I trust your taste.

@@Babiebackbooks I don’t read a ton of cozy books but I did recently read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and thought it sort of gave cozy vibes. Also, Far From the Tree by Virginia DeBerry and Donna Grant will definitely have you saying awww at the end, it is one of my favorite books.

The small life goals being a green flag is absolutely a 30s mood. I've got food to eat, books to read, games to play and that brings light to my life! (Also yay A Psalm For the Wild Built had me kicking my feet because I was also a 29 yo non binary person at the time)

That's how I feel! There was definitely a period in my life when I wanted to be this CEO business woman with 25 streams of income, but I see it as a sign of inner peace and self love to truly enjoy the slowest simplest days. That's not saying I hate adventure and skydiving--but I don't need that to feel satisfied. And I would not want a partner who can't see beauty in the same teeny things. eeeeee! It makes my heart so full to hear that! I put it on hold because you recommended Becky Chambers! So thank you. Truly. I am so grateful to have been recommended a book that I needed so deeply.

You know what's so crazy? I've been asking all of my friends what their perfect day would be and they all have similar ones to me. I think this was a very quick and easy lesson on how to find "my people". I'm going to be stealing the question from him and asking all future dates--because I want a partner that feels the exact same. I want a partner that gives me the same vibes as these cozy books 😅
