This week on Shop Tools I Can't Live Without I'm bringing you the Craftsman Professional aluminum motorcycle jack. I have used the jack for years without Issue and I truly believe that its the best motorcycle jack on the market. If you would like to see a comparison between the standard red motorcycle jack and this professional series jack, let me know down in the comments and I will put something together. Sears or Craftsman did not pay me for this review, nor did they give me the jack, so this is as honest as it gets! Make sure you hit that like button and subscribe for more!

I tried this jack on my 2016 Dyna Street Bob and there's not enough width to keep it off of the oil pan.

I want a jack/stand that would allow me to take off wheels. (Triumph T100) You mention that you would not do this with this jack. Are the larger lifts like the red one better or more stable for working on the bike? Great video. Thanks.

May have to make a wider base and platform for my 3 ton car jack now!! I like to copy things and make them better.

No locking wheels and can you move the bike in the up spots?

Sub'd and T-up! I just bought this for my 2018 Indian Springfield. I hope it works as good as yours! Some great tips! Thanks! I have a tip for others... If you want to change a wheel or stabilize the machine... you can place another jack or jack stand elsewhere... like under the wheel not being worked on. Makes a huge improvement!

I have this jack for close to 10 years now . I'm completely satisfied with it ; it's provided many years of solid performance . Now you wouldn't want to hop on to your bike while it's on the jack as shown in other videos (J&S) . It's not designed to withstand that.

Is there anywhere to attach hold down straps to the lift from the bike?
@zeke1883
@zeke1883 5 месяцев назад
Yes there is if you look at the handle end there is a bar under the handle. A strap can be attached there, then over the seat and on kickstand side there is another bar under the lift pads. To hook your strap, the lift pads must be raised just enuff to attach hook on other end of strap. Have done this with mine for years.

Bought this Jack just before Sears bit the dust. First time I went to use it … gushing jack fluid all over floor 🤦‍♂️

what's the warranty on the jack and does it give you pads or pucks to give you more hight? thxs.
@GoheenCycles
@GoheenCycles 6 лет назад
+RanGer498 the jack comes with standoffs that allow you more height. It believe that it adds another 3 or 4 inches. As far as warranty, I believe that it is 1 year. I have personally had that jack for about 7 years without issue.

I have the red craftsman jack and want to go to this one since its lighter. I am able to strap the bike and remove the wheels on my Harley without wobbling issues on the red jack. Is this one just as stable? You mentioned this aluminum jack isnt good for changing tires. Thoughts?
@GoheenCycles
@GoheenCycles 6 лет назад
I have changed tires on it before it it seemed to be okay as long as the bike was strapped down. I usually throw a bike on my lift if I don't have anything up there to change them but its possible to change them on the yellow jack if you needed.

Hey man nice video, thanks for posting. Hey on another point. My vtx 1300 has the wobble in the steering. If yours does or did that, what bearings do you use to fix it. I need to fix mine, I dont like it. I just thought I'd listen to any info you may have, ok thanks man, I enjoy and learn some for ya. God bless

+Tony McDaniel the death wobble sucks. I have a video ony page on how to replace them. The best set to buy are from all balls (part number 22-1020)

The wheels on the front are fine to me but I agree with you. The casters on the back are too small. They do the job though.

I have this jack too and I'm looking for another. I have the 967 lb. Star Venture and the release on this jack is way too touchy as you say for me to chance it with the beast. Drops like a rock and if it even gets a little leaning it'll go over. Might be okay if I had a second set of hands to steady it when lowering. But forget it by myself.

I don’t think one can still purchase these Craftsmen aluminum motorcycle jacks, me I’d rather by one made in American.
@motodrummer

man does'nt anyone tie em down afterwards? why not show that?
@GoheenCycles
@GoheenCycles 6 лет назад
+motodrummer i never leave it on the jack. I always put the bike on a dolly or a stand. If you leave it on the jack, it would be best practice to turn it down to it. You can see in my bobber teardown video, I left that bike on the jack and it is tied down there. Good catch though!

Because he’s presenting the functionality of the jack, if he was doing some maintenance, I’m sure there would be more on the video especially on ensuring security of the bike, but that was not the purpose of the video..

I tie my Softail Deuce down for the winter. The only issue I have with this jack is that it doesn't have any tie down hooks to attach the straps. With my bike and straps it makes it difficult to get enough distance to use the straps.

Invite a friend and have them hold the camera. And ask them to follow you and zoom in on controls. I have no clue what controls levers etc you are operating. You don't show the lock mechanism and just talk about it. You don't show the lowering mechanism just show the process from a distance. This video would be good for someone who already knows how to operate this floor jack. You keep on repeating that it's just like an automotive jack... that does not help. If someone already knows how to operate these Jacks, why would they watch your video?
