I go through the steps to replace the belts on a Craftsman 13hp snow blower. I used an A38 and A37 belt for the replacement.

Thanks for posting this. I needed to replace two broken belts on my Yard Works snowblower and didn't know it could be split in half "like a clam shell". That little piece of information saved me about $200. Thanks again.

u dont have to split there is a bolt when u tip up that loosens and belt comes off you are doing thingds the hard way takes 10 min

I have 2 craftsman snow blowers. You do not have to split it apart to remove belt. There is room between auger pulley to slip belt through.

Depends on what model of craftsman you have. I have a 33" 13 horse and it needs to be split. They have it so you don't even need to take the bolts all the way out on mine. Just loosen them and there are slots that they slide in. Actually much easier than trying to finnagle a belt down through. There's a total of maybe ten bolts to loosen, including the ones for the guide posts. Two 3/8" bolts on the outer cover and then the rest are all 1/2".

you said it was a Craftsman 13hp snow blower. The picture (which looks like my snowblower) says Craftsman 10-30. I am trying to locate a belt for a 10-30. Do you have a parts manual ?

might be the same as mine, belt # 3887ma size 1/2 inch X 31.4 inch for the auger and # 1733324sm for the drive size 1/2 X 33.25 inch . My model # is C950-52110-2 if anyone has the manual for mine would greatly appreciate a copy :)

Did you have a hard time getting the new auger belt onto the top pulley? Mine is real tight

It was hard to get the pulley on. Takes some prying and squished fingers to make it happen

You can loose the idler pulley with a key, place the belt and the re-adjust the idler pulley

So no removing the pulley... good. But the guide tabs around the pulley are solid. Manual says bend them out of the way... right. Not budging and they're welded. So I'm guessing you can just muscle the v-belt out and and a new one in with some gently nudging? I'll give it a shot.

Hi Brian ! You should use Kevlar Belts or Belts for Power Equipment. These won't last very long. Once I made the same mistake. It's twice the work.Search for "donyboy73" there you find many answers.

Hello Any chance you have a manual for this blower, I have the identical blower and for some reason the model# on my machine is 71-52430-4 and apparently there is no such machine, I searched the entire web and there are alot of individuals also having a hard time trying to find information of this imaginary machine, if no manual can you please provide the model# on your machine, Any information would be greatly appreciated Thank You
