To all those forming an impression that Kolkata is chaotic and dirty, pls hold on to your thoughts. Howrah bridge and wholesale markets doesn't represent Kolkata in its entirety. This is a metro city, perhaps the most important one in Eastern part of India, was the second home to the British after London and like every other big city has its low and posh areas. So if you really want to explore all the shades of the city pls visit places like Alipore, Lake Gardens, EMBypass, Salt lake edspecially Sec V, Newtown etc etc. I dont know why foreigners only show one side of the coin.
People outside won't understand Kolkata, Because they are mostly money minded, And judge everything only in terms of capitalisation. They will only get attracted to outside glory like.. Big big roads, Tall glass buildings, Hi fi restaurant, Hi fi hotels, All the things that are modern and shining, Kolkata is not behind from any other cities in that point of view, as u mentioned places like Newton, saltlake,alipore etc .. But that is not actually Kolkata or we are not very attracted to those places, I live in Garia, As a Bengali I find it more attractive and joyful being in Hatibagan, In Princep ghat, in Central part of city where it's not shining but has history, has life , Also it's dirty road sometimes, I love to roam around in Central part of the city where there are lots of abandoned buildings, British era homes , cafe etc... I hardly go to place like Newton cafe , but love piece hotel in Garia or byPass .. I don't know why I like these but I believe most of the Bengali people do same ... I find it enjoyable on the tram sometimes, But people will not understand these things, because they have some mindset and love on shining things ...
The places she is visiting are the “heritage” of this city. The way we keep our heritage reflects a lot about us. I’m from Kolkata and I believe the city is dirtier than it should be.

Pati katha jeikhane obangali beshi especially Bihari ra oyiduk gulo ektu nongra because they are used to such environment and they will carry that mentality wherever they go.Baki ta dosh amader that we are always reluctant to take any actions against it.
@@nicolemd33 Did you go there in December? Because those seem to be lighting for Christmas. It's a big deal in Kolkata and Park Street is the hub of activities.
In Kolkata you should see Victoria Memorial, James Princep Ghat, Fort William, India Museum, Esplanade, St Paul Cathedral. There is Park Street which is the center of Kolkata and it has many Art Noveau buildings, then there is Chittaranjan Avenue with Art Deco buildings. Then there is Shova Bazaar with old buildings. Shova Bazaar is a cool neighbourhood with amazing Restaurants and Sweet shops which are more than 100 years old. Also you should try Chicken Kabiraji at Allen's in Kolkata.

When foreigners visit india they visit mostly mumbai, happy to see kolkata. Its where the british arrived first and became second most important city after london
Just a quick tip, if you see something you want to try but not buy the entire portion of it, just try a little bit for free nobody's gonna stop you....😊
I don't know when did you came here ? But girl you should have come to Kolkata during Durga Puja or Christmas ⛄ (specially at Bow Barrack and Park Street, girl you choose the wrong time. And you should go New town area which is very developed and well planned. There are so many things to do like Eco park India's largest urban park, Deer park, Wax museum , Nico Park , Science City Asia's largest science City.And the flower market is world's 2nd largest.
Why do all foreign travel bloggers hire or get into the old decrepit yellow taxis which are anyway being phased out. When Uber/Ola etc ride hire taxis are so easily available.

I am sorry this is like starting a tour of Chicago from the extreme south Chicago. When I moved to Chicago, my friends and co-workers took me to cool areas like Lincoln Park etc. Similarly you should have been advised to start a tour of Kolkata from Lake Gardens or salt lake FE block, sector 5 maybe. Hopefully you'll understand what I mean.
Haha I got you! In the morning I use a gentle cleanser then follow it up with a moisturizer and spf. At night I do the same thing but use retinol in between cleansing and the moisturizer. I also exfoliate 3x a week:)
