I've always had my eye on the Steinhart, you've made that decision of getting one of this premium watch easier. Now l can't resist picking up one. Thank you for this review.
Mine arrives tomorrow. Can’t wait! I tried the squale but the lume was an issue so I flipped it. The ceramic was nice though. Wish this had the option. Who know, maybe they’ll offer one in the near future.
my ocean 44 came . yes definately as solid as it looks .done a 60m dive in wast water yesterday. it survived im made up . these watches oooooze quality
The version 1.0 became a collector's item after 2.0 was introduced (the one with the grey dial), which has only been in circulation for 3 years or so ? So that one should become a collector's piece soon as well. In case you can still find one, grab it ;)
i have a question (kind of urgent)...when you unscrew the crown and then you touch it, does the crown stay firm? or it does have a little of "play" back and forth ??
ncmllo Sorry for my late response dude 🙈 If you totally unscrew the crown it “jumps” out and then you can wind the watch by turning the crown around to 12. If you unscrew it just a little bit before it jumps out, it stays firm, no “play” - at least on my copy.
thanks for your reply, this is what i'm talking about ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q0sM2OL394Q.html it is in hand-winding position (unscrewed). Does your watch's crown behave like this?
Gamer Oliver Very busy on work these days that‘s why I didn‘t had enough time for uploading something new 🙈... I think that is an beautiful piece as well. I like it. The only thing what I dislike a little bit is that small date window without a cyclops. It looks lost on the dial in my opinion.
Great video Dimi ! Love the edition ! And the Sounds 😁👍👍 the starting of it is a little bit RetekG style 😂😂👍👍👍 looking forward the next videos. Szia! (@RetekG was here 😁)
Very nice presentation. How is the bezel action? I heard people are complaining that it has an unacceptable back play.It would be nice to have a thorough review.
Inspector Hello there! The bezel action is nice working and balanced with a good drag. Yes, I will do thorough review of it. Thank you for your question / your comment 🙏🏻😊
I have seen a lot of reviews on this watch, and is a pity that Steinhart didn´t release it with something, wich is to my mind, one of the most important things in all Submariner vintages models: and that is the strong curved and tall plexiglass. Why spend money in a sapphire glass, that does not follow the same shape the original watch that are you trying to "homage" does?... I don´t understand that, specially because this is a watch that you buy to enjoy, to use everyday, and not to worry if it get some scratches in the glass (even Steinhart could provide it with a replacement Plexiglass, so you dont´have to worry if you broke it). The other very important thing to me, about this model (the 42mm) is the bezel and how rough it looks (the coin edge), in comparison with the later 39 mm. Maybe the 39 mm is more accurate to the 5517 in that particular, but the shape of the bezel in this version I think is far superior and look really like a "Tool", and stands with that massage immediately: "this is a real Tool", that´s what that bezel is saying. And for both version, may be there´s a problem with size, was the 5517 in 40mm? I´m not sure... Regards
Thank you for your detailed opinion and sharing it with us. Partly - but then again full in a way - I agree with you. I mean everyone got an own view on things, personal expectations and uses a watch in different ways. For some it’s just a good looking time teller, for others again it’s a fulfill dream. But at the end of the day it’s a homage to the milsub and should match as much as possible. The Milsub 5517 diameter is 39 mm. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you in the next :) Don’t forget to subscribe if you like ;)
Hi Dimi I really enjoyed both this video and the comparison versions . This one was a great overview. Would you be doing a further in depth look at this watch with full specs , lume shot and just a longer video please please sir can we have some more - Oliver Twist
Watch Illuminator Thanks Dimi, can’t wait . Your video is the main reason I’m buying this watch . I disliked oovm mk2 but your lighting and camera made the newer watch look amazing - can’t wait to get mine and see your next video
Good show! Have 2 Steinharts... A vintage GMT and an Ocean 1 Bronze in my collection. Although by no means the most expensive, the quality they offer is pretty amazing. Will be waiting for an Ocean 1 39mm GMT. If they make that, I would buy it for my every day wear. Keep up the good work and you will have a lot of subscribers soon.
J.R. Regenold Hello 😊 Thanks! 🙌🏼 This is a very nice confirmation of my thinking regarding other models of Steinhart. As I expected. Thank you 4 your input. These are very nice models as well. I hope you will have your Ocean One soon around your wrist fellow! 🙌🏼😇 It’s a great choice 4 a daily rocker! I will do my best as good as possible with my rare free time. Thank you for your words! See you soon around ^^
Hi Dimi I hope this message finds you well . Would you be able to do an update on this watch maybe with you wearing it? 👍🏽 You are the only guy on RU-vid with this version 3 . No other reviews by anyone Wtf? So even a couple of mins on the wrist would be grateful. If you still have it of course . Goood evening Vietnaaammmmmm😜🤪🤙🏻🖐🏻👍🏽😆
Oni FraKiMarq Thank you my friend! 🙌🏼 The black dial is like in the 1st version so far I know. The V2 got that grey dial. But as I said I will compare those two in detail ☺️
Gamer Oliver Hello Oliver, I think this weekend! 😊 I am very busy with my new job, so please be a little patient. I am happy you looking forward to it 😊🍀
Tomasina Covell Thanks for your comment fellow. I had no problem so far with that. I own some Strapcode/Miltat bracelets which got screws as well, but I had with them no problem either. But a simple pin system would be no wrong for sure. If you don’t like the thickness of the links it’s ok of course, but I would say that’s subjective :)
@@Watchilluminator Subjective is ok! I just think it overwhelms the watch a bit, and I would probably wish it weren't such an anvil giving me buses like I can get from my Jade Monster, which I rock too! :)
Watch Illuminator yeah thanks buddy. The 42 is a bit big for me. I saw on gnomonwatches had a limited edition 39mm. But it sold out right away a while back. I may go to HK and see if the 42mm wears too big on my tiny 5.5” wrist at the Hong Kong distributor. Cheers.
Tony smith Hey Tony 👋🏼 The grey dial got it own beauty as well. If you prefer the black, I am sure you will find somebody fast who would like to have the grey one. Sell it and grab the black one man 😊
Cant wait for u to age, wear n tear yr Steinhart Mil into abit scratchy n little dust appears on yr dial to make it look like more vintage n original! Congrats u hv made a wise investment, it makes u look forward to a great day every morning u starts to wear this watch! Enjoy ya ;)
jimmunsw Thank you for your words buddy 😊 Very well described! The essence is: each scratch tells a story. I am really happy with it. Worth it! Habe a good one, see you soon around 😊
Watch Illuminator :- yup bro, i hv many vintage watches circa 1920's till 2000's mostly i buy old rugged dirty scratchy worn beat up dusty or with patina aging! I guess i always imagining these watches gone through those years like adventures of indiana jones or tintin ! I can say that yr Steinhart Mil will look awesome in 20 to 30 years time with many stories to tell too. Enjoy ya ;)
jimmunsw Very well said dude! 💪🏼 Indi is cult 😎 If you buy a watch, you do not buy just a grungy watch... you buy pure history. I am not really experienced in old watches, but this is something I feel and have always on my mind. Enjoy bro! 😇
David Hoskinsd I agree, they only made it a lil bit smaller. But it opens & closes smooth... that’s a little comfort. I wish there where those release buttons like on many Seikos.
The clasp on the Ocean Vintage GMT and the Ocean One 39mm is milled steel and miles better. I cant understand why they dont upgrade it on all models. I would happily pay more too. Until they do I wont buy another Steinhart
David Hoskinsd I can feel what you think fellow. But I noticed that on several brands... sometimes their brains are on vacation 😄 But serious now: I think they try to keep a line of „cheap“ middle and high priced watches... they do this with the movements of course, but also with bracelets as we realized. That‘s how it is my friend. But Steinhart got a good accessory shop for their watches. Maybe there is a better bracelet which fits the OOMV ?
Why its really a british military watch homage , the mod asked twelve companies to follow their strict design , rolex was just one of the companies (Rolex took ideas from watch companies for decades ) tax evading gits
Fully agreed Joe. The main "problem" is: Rolex is the most popular watch brand in the world, so people think they invented almost everything. I think it's just more descriptive for a comparison because of the popularity. Of course there are other brands with a great history as well. A good idea for a new vid maybe: talking about the roots of classic designs. Thank you for your comment 🙏🙂
The Ginault is, based on my experience, virtually perfect. If the bezel was lumed and ceramic it would be. A real Submariner is a total waste of money imo.
Master Guru I can‘t say anything about the brands you mentioned, cause I have no personal experience wirh them, but what I can say is Steinhart delivers more for the money as expected. I am sure this was not my last one.
Looks like piss drops on the face. man why are you buying these Vintage Replicas, when you buy a new Watch with normal Lumen, after a few years it will look also Vintage, but some people cant wait
I like the design and as I said I can‘t afford a vintage Rolex. Of course it is possible to buy a new watch and to wait, but until this moment the Steini will do good work between. IMO it looks & feels good. Thanks 4 your comment.
